disorganized; food was ok. we had a 10:30p reservation several nights ago. the reservation was made a number of days in advance and confirmed on the day that we would be dining. when we arrived at the restaurant, there was no one greeting customers; we waited at the door. when a staff member approached us, he seemed not to understand the concept of a reservation. several staff members became involved, and then we were told that the hostess had left and that no one could find the reservation list. meanwhile, no table had been held for us, and only undesirable tables were available. after some wait, a table was cleared. this was not agoodstart.

on the food front, things were good, not great. the baby artichokes were a big disappointment: not "baby" artichokes, but more mature, tougher artichokes.

this outpost of the black bottle has work to do.

delicious, interesting food. my husband and i had an early dinner there and it was wonderful. 4 plates shared between us, and if we wanted dessert we should have made it 3 - they'regoodsizes and we were full.

the star was the scallops with bacon in a lemon sauce with "frizzled" kale. they served that first and it was a "wow!". the lemon sauce is reduced (no thickeners) and sweetened but not cloying. pair that with the salty in the bacon and the roasted kale and it's a great combo with the delicate scallops.

the pork and kimchi wasgoodalthough i thought the pulled pork was a little dry. that was my husband's second favorite, mine was the pear/gorgonzola flatbread which was delicious.i'm not a gorgonzola fan, but this was very gentle as a base for the pear slices.

i had expected to love the broccoli blast as i love roasted veg (purple cauliflower, broccolini, cabbage rabe, brussels sprouts), but while this was ok it could have used a little seasoning. many of the recipes i've followed drizzle lemon juice or balsamic on top of the char roasted veg as they come out of the oven and that makes the whole thing much more interesting. probably wouldn't order that again.

service was attentive, prompt and very personable. it wasn't busy as it was early, so noise wasn't an issue. definitely want to return to try all the things we didn't have room for :)

just about perfect. reallygoodfood, "tapas style" so to speak. very upscale casual.goodbeer selection, phenomenal service, great location,goodmusic, and very cool understated decor. sad that it's not around near my home town.
