blackbottle- bellevueas a nightcap, we ended off our evening with some local craft beers from blackbottlepostern, conveniently located across the street from our hotel. we made it just in time for last call, but unfortunately their kitchen was closed already. their menu items are affordably priced and they also have daily happy hour specials, so we’ll be sure to stop by again next time.

disorganized; food was ok. we had a 10:30p reservation several nights ago. the reservation was made a number of days in advance and confirmed on the day that we would be dining. when we arrived at the restaurant, there was no one greeting customers; we waited at the door. when a staff member approached us, he seemed not to understand the concept of a reservation. several staff members became involved, and then we were told that the hostess had left and that no one could find the reservation list. meanwhile, no table had been held for us, and only undesirable tables were available. after some wait, a table was cleared. this was not a good start.

on the food front, things were good, not great. the baby artichokes were a big disappointment: not "baby" artichokes, but more mature, tougher artichokes.

this blackbottleplays to a little different crowd than the hipster-filled belltown location, as families, for example, stop in during their days of shopping. and why not, as blackbottlebills itself as “a casual tavern committed to great eating and drinking at fair prices.” my first order was abottleof stone brewing company’s arrogant bastard ale. the label says “you’re not worthy,” and their promo says “you probably won’t like it.” i loved it—hoppy and caramel-like as it was—and then i went on to enjoy much of the meal i ordered, including the famous “broccoli blasted.”

if you’re ever in the area, perhaps taking a shopping break from bellevue square, i recommend dropping by blackbottlefor a bite to eat. every dish we ordered was great, i loved the bright, airy atmosphere and i have no complaints about the service.

blackbottle= whack bottle. worst dining experience ever at the black bottle, bellevue. so much so that this former waitress was ok with tipping $0. you know that if a former server thinks it's ok to not leave a tip that lots of things had to go wrong. getting served our meals one at a time (6 people), then late food, then wrong late food, not clearing plates, not filling up water, not asking if everything is ok, and then not delivering a check in a sufficient amount of time is not ok. they seriously need to regroup and take a look at their work processes over there. and this was on a wednesday night. i can't imagine what it must be like on the weekends! never going back there again.

i love what blackbottlepostern is doing with deviled eggs, salty, spicy, creamy and delicious. bargain at $5.00 for 4 or 5 pieces. just enough to go with my manhattan.
