when we feel like heading out for a drive to a nice waterside pub, this is where we usually end up, unfortunately the food has never been great here! but we do like the setting.

service is prettygoodand i do like their hot veg and salad bar, the vegies are simple but always good! don’t see too many salad bars around anymore!

we ordered the seafood platter to share, it’s reasonable value, but it’s not great. the fish was mushy and oily, the calamari was tender but you could still taste the raw flour, the prawn skewers were overcooked, killer oysters were okay and i believe the tartare was straight out of a jar. oh my.

we still keep returning because we just like it and maybe, one day, we will get agoodmeal here!

came here for lunch whilst working out in birkenhead, adelaide thanks to the terminal manger.

it's a very nice pub located along the water. this place was very busy during lunch and that was agoodsign. then menu was pretty extensive but we all ordered seafood, i had the seafood platter.
you have to order and pay at the bar, and they give you a number for the table to bring the food out to.

they also have a free open bain-marie with salad
and veggies which is included with the price of your main meal and is self serve which is a very nice addition.

the seafood platter was great and included coffin bay oysters, prawns, calamari and fish fillet and chips. the seafood tasted fresh and was hooked very well. it was also a verygoodserving size for the price

such a great place to eat, awesome out door deck with beautiful outlook over the port river. great menu with heaps of variety, reallygoodsalad bar and friendly staff. highly recommend.

had breakfast 2 weeks ago and the service was exceptional and the food fantastic, went again this sunday and the service was very hit and miss, waitress so busy chatting people were coming in and finding there own table, 10 min later being asked to move because table reserved, the food was below average and i am being kind with that statement because of the excellent food the week before, we will not go back for a wile if ever over our resent experience,goodluck and hope you dine on the right day forgoodfood.

nice food at the port. have been there twice. tried the fish of the day and the chicken curry. the curry was too spicy for my wife, but i liked it a lot. the fish of the day was verygoodeach time. the salad bar is also good. it's a nice place, especially if the weather isgoodand you seat outside, at nice place and withgoodquality food. will there again.

went back for a second time and still didn't perform. i heard suchgoodthings about this place so i went to check it out.. and was not so impressed. food is well priced, menu sounds fantastic but it just doesnt deliver.

i decided to go back again to prove to myself that it was just bad luck the first time, so i booked in for a group of 18 for my birthday. once again, food is agoodprice for all those on a budget but it just isn't regular pub standard.. food isnt fresh and they seem to be aiming too high for their cooking ability.

the staff are all very nice, it has a great view and nice styling outside but the inside looks a little outdated and the salad bar is pretty terrible. i'd go back if i just wanted a quick, cheap, not great quality meal but there are much better places close by.

bad food,goodservice. i live in the port and have regularly frequented the birk (lets say once a month) and have never had a problem until now. whether it is a new chef or a new approach, the food is now terrible, my steak was half cooked, and my partners fish was tiny and was not worth the money we paid for it. the staff andgoodand handled the situation with professionalism, but why would i go back for a below average meal?? will be looking for a new local.

steak to die for!. came in for a birthday dinner with a party of about 30. had to order at the bar which suited us fine (no figuring out who owes what at the end). didnt have high expectations. always a little apprehensive about a pub with a huge menu. ordered a steak and it came out perfect. cooked exactly the way i wanted it and obviously rested. wines by the bottle weregoodand well priced.

service was awesome, the staff was sogoodand efficient!! highly recommend going again!!!
