so, you're going to want to get negima, butabara, bonjiri and a grilled onigiri. sit by the grill itself unless it's a stinking hot day, the view is well worth it. yakitori is usually enjoyed with lashings of beer so grab whatever's on draft.
oh, you want to know if you should even go? yes. yes you should.
this is some of the best brisbane chow i've had. superb interactive food. excellent drinking food. wonderful japanese food. everything was crispy, well seasoned and deliciously smoky from the charcoal grill.
the decor makes it suitable for anything short of a romantic dinner or particularly stuffy business lunch. you won't lack for things to drink from, choices on the menu or buzzy, urban ambiance. your wallet might lack a bit afterwards, though; it's easy to rack up a bill here, grabbing just one more skewer.
service is always on point, friendly and efficient, if not particularly notable. probably the least japanese part of the experience, but no worse off for that; japaneseserviceis in a highly-attentive class of its own (and frankly, might be unnerving in casual old brisbane).
go here for dinner with your partner. have a birthday lunch. celebrate tuesday. it doesn't matter: go get food on sticks. now.
