authentic japanese izakaya style food here. tried the pork belly and chicken thigh skewers. pricey but amazing. they both had a good char on them and were well seasoned. the pork was served with a lovely mustard sauce.

i also ordered the karaage chicken. this was crispy and served with a balanced wasabi mayo. it had just the right hit of wasabi for me.

pirikara fries were also a highlight. seasoned with shichimi and served with a japanese mayo i really enjoyed them. i finished off with the cabbage which was nothing exceptional but a large amount of cabbage for the price.

sake selection here is also a highlight, and staff are friendly and more than willing to help you make a selection. it's a shame i wasn't made aware of the tasting platter option, as at $15 it's good value.

really great little place. friendly efficient service and tasty good. what more could you want. the salad dressing with wasabi is great!

great photo they got wait till you go see the real raw& scorch on your table.

poor communication & cooking skill.
liver still raw wings scorch wrost.is that cooking kitchen still so pround themself for this pet food.

this place always seems busy so we were happy to get a couple of seats on sunday night without a booking. the atmosphere was very good, as was the food. we sat at the counter and it was great to have the kitchen staff pass us our food as it was ready. we never received one of the dishes we ordered, but this was no big deal and we decided to leave it. we asked our waiter (who we later learned was the supervisor) for our bill but we were basically fobbed off twice before we resorted to requesting it from another waitress. she was very friendly and efficient and brought it out quite quickly. she tried to ask him about the missing dish but true to form he wasn't remotely interested. it's disappointing that one staff member soured the whole experience when the rest of the team were doing a great job.

awesome. seriously one of the best restaurants in brisbane. the staff are lovely and clearly love what they do and from the second you walk in you feel very welcome. food is amazing, drink selection is great! what more can i say? everyone should eat here. i'm going back tonight and can't wait :)

brilliant. always ends up being more expensive than we'd hoped, once we add in some saki and gorge ourselves on yakitori, but it's totally worth it. the chicken liver skewer is my favourite, along with the okra skewer (not on the menu, only available sometimes as a special). and i'm in love with the wombok salad. it's a really great accompaniment for all that chicken meaty goodness.

amazing food, beautifully fresh and flavoursome, tasty skewers with charcoal flavour, vegetables to salivate over, yuzu pepper that you can’t get enough of. heaven.

had a very good night here. traditional japanese feel. great service, good food, mainly skewers. selection of nice japanese beers as well as a good wine list.recommended.

grabbed takeaway for a riverside picnic! as first time diners, we ordered the following skewers: chicken thigh and shallot, chicken skin and wagyu karubi- along with a side of the cabbage salad. the food was delicious, although the chicken skin was a bit too salty. not cheap at all but the food is of quality so i’d still recommend trying it out! female staff was friendly too so that’s a plus :)

omg the best freakin' chicken karrage in brisbane! it's perfectly battered and fried, all the juices kept inside and served with lemon wedges and wasabi mayo. add the himalayan salt and chilli flakes to give it an extra kick. super nice fitout. service could be more friendly otherwise i'll give it a 5.

fantastic restaurant! the food is so delicious! best karage chicken i've ever had and i've been to japan twice! the service was perfect. fast, friendly and attentive. can't wait to bring all our family and friends here 10/10!

im japanese and taste of skewers here are exactly same as skewers in japan. if you want to eat real japanese food this is the place u must go!!:)

it’s too overrated. we came here because of the good reviews but the food was very ordinary. the skewers were overcooked and very dry. it was disappointing. will not come back for sure.

ordered italian skewers and two salad bowls. both were outstanding. the only issue was that a piece of my pork was cold in the middle. other than that, the experience was thoroughly enjoyable.

great ambience from the outside busy and hectic. we had booked and a short wait. had a drink and nice table near the bar. as only two of us perfect. a real buzz and interesting food. go try it! we went due to rating amd not disappointed.
