this restaurant has very average food that is equal to a westfield mall but its small seating space and location requires that it should charge a premium for its dishes.

went for a dinner on a rainy saturday night. had to wait for about 30 minutes before i got a table. the service was wonderful; they were really friendly. the food came out quite fast as well. the prices were really affordable for the quality we got, but the yakitori was more on the expensive side. overall, a very good experience! wish i found this restaurant earlier.

the restriction for covid-19 in queensland has been lifted/eased which means that one of the things that we are able to do is to dine in restaurants. we took this opportunity to have a quick and quiet celebration for jacky’s birthday at this japanese yakitori bar in west end, brisbane. for your information, they have two other stores which are located at fortitude valley and and toowong. we’ve wanted to try the bird’s nest in west end since a while ago but they were always packed with people. we were lucky enough to get a table for 2 without making any reservation prior to entering the restaurant. when we first arrived, we were immediately greeted by the friendly waitress which then escorted us to our seats.

wonderful experience really friendly staff. i tried the chicken cartilage for something new and i can recommend it! give it a try 😋

you guys deserve a massive shout out and a hells yeah. went to the restaurant a couple months back for my bday and everything was superb. high quality fresh food, fast and super friendly service, really nice restaurant ambience, and great drinks options.

just ordered again from uber eats and hands down the best delivered meal i’ve had in a long time. the chicken is so juicy and fresh, dressings are to die for and...

...best miso soup i’ve had anywhere. ever. period 👏🏼👏🏼👏🏼

i’ve only had the karaage lunch special and chicken yakitori - both were delicious. but i will definitely have to go back and try the rest of the skewer selection.

absolutely nailed the brief. from start to finish, every dish exceeded our expectations. we thought overall it was great value, both drinks and dining. spot on service, not to mention speedy but definately not rushed. front of house really had their finger on the pulse. a mix of hard and soft seating, the wooden seats were not an issue but if booking ahead you might want to request the other option. a virtually faultless experience.

superb food, cooked over charcoal, with attentive staff and ice cold asahi on tap.

can highly recommend ordering a set menu to avoid long delays between dishes.

my husband and i went to bird’s nest yakitori on a rare date night and it didn’t disappoint. we ordered the omakase set menu and it was to die for. everything from the broth to the yakitori wings were cooked to perfection, so much so my husband and i agree they are they best wings we’ve ever had!!

the atmosphere was excellent and the service was some of the best we’ve had, and to add the that, quite reasonably priced too.

we would highly recommend for a nice date night out, we will certainly be back the next chance we get!

this place is great! they cook in front of you and the skewers are filled with delicious flavours.
they mainly serve skewers but have lots of different types of meats/flavours to choose from including vegetarian options. price is reasonable, personally i would prefer more skewers on the plate not just two.

we have been wanting to visit this charcoal ignited restaurant for so long and we finally got our chance for dinner. we ordered the chefs selection which included 8x yakatori sticks, pannacotta, chicken broth, salad and 30ml of chilled sake.

i’m a big cooker of food over live fire and charcoal and this chicken was on a different planet. texture and taste were faultless, that had me wanting more!

service was a little flat when we asked questions about the dishes, but otherwise fine.

we can’t wait to get back here!

what a great experience! even though the place was packed (always a good sign), the staff were just as attentive. we ordered the omakase course so basically the chef decides, and what a great selection it was. sasami, buta bara, italian, asparagus, shiitake mushrooms, and more, all done in the traditional way using charcoal. finishing with a sesame panna cotta to complete the great experience. will definitely come back again!
