when it comes to hamburgers, bgrs burgers are truly some of the best. do not expect a gourmet style burger, but more of an american diner like experience. almost like shake shack.
quality of the meat is unreal. great fresh ingredients. and the service is friendly and fast. add this to an around the clock good vibe, there is no chance you will not enjoy your meal. em hassall

this place is now routine, sunday burgers at bgr. by far incredible quality meat, tasty and generous patties with their secret bgr sauce. happy friendly and efficient staff, such a great vibe in their new location. best burgers in jozi

we finally got a chance to try bgr this weekend and it pretty much lived up to all the hype. the burgers are basic but damn tasty. i like the fact that you can choose whatever topping you want for free, but the burgers themselves are quite pricey to not come with any sides or drinks. the fries we ordered separately were a lot like mcd's fries. the frozen custard was good but nothing out of the ordinary.

i also really like the venue, it's in a trendy little spot in rosebank and has nice seating areas. the waiters were also vibey and cheerful.

the new location for bgr is much more fitting than the previously tucked away little spot on jan smuts. the restaurant is based on the classic american burger joint. i love the fact that there are only two options with basic toppings proving that all you need is to get the basics right and use fresh ingredients to make out of this world food. a tad pricier than a normal take out joint but definitely worth it. also tasted the frozen custard which was super rich and creamy.

not the biggest fan of burgers but i think i fell in love when i had bgr.
they're not cheap but i think it's worth it for the quality. love the fact that they give you a healthy alternative where you can swap a regular bun for a lettuce bun and it will still taste just as good.
simple yet scrumptious.

very decent burger. it really all comes together. the co-founder jed is very open to feedback and is a pleasure to talk to.
happy to have found this place. try out the lemonade and frozen custard too. all great.

absolutely loved this burger , the meat was juicy and full of flavour. the roll was dense and the right size to patty ratio. one of my all time favourites. only thing stopping full score is the size of the burger. i had a double burger and could easily have eaten another. i would seriously suggest a larger patty for the price

got take aways a while ago. i think the fact that you can pick and choose what you do and do not want is a huge bonus. family members had had a really good experience a few weeks prior to my visit, however my meal definitely did not live up to bgr's reputation. the burger was very dry and very overcooked. i do think that they may have just been having a bad night as they were really busy. i would definitely give bgr a second chance and i think it's important to comment on the service as well. the service was really really good. the staff were super lively and friendly - they are a big reason the rating of this review is as high as it is.

this is simply the best burger money can buy. i had it twice in one day just to make sure it was as good as i thought it was. with so many places saying they have the best burger it has always been like they are good bit not the best. we know have the best.

fantastic burgers, (best in town?....not sure yet) fresh hot chips, great lemonade and absolutely superb staff. a bit hard to find, all in all a great find. will definitely be back

the best hamburger iv ever ever ever had in my entire life. omg im in love. nothing like it in jhb. toasted bun best patty homemade and soo tasty. just unbelievable. iv been back twice. will go back forever.

been twice to bgr, and an overall good addition to the burger scene in jhb. what sets this burger joint apart from the others, is its fresh, quality ingredients and the lots of free toppings. the burgers are tasty with no heavy sauces and gimmicks-like some
of the others. the fries are also very tasty. great and friendly service, but the location could be better (hidden away in a petrol station with a lot of construction around it)

i love this place. it's the best kept secret in joburg.
authentic american burgers with the best milkshakes ever made by man. clever service system makes for a quick takeaway or sit down munch.
really top quality meat, especially. kitchen is open so you can see such how fresh everything is!

burgers and toppings are fresh and delicious, perfectly complemented with french fries. staff are friendly and enthusiastic. this fast food outlet is a must-try for anyone in the area looking for a quick, tasty meal. location is not ideal at the moment but i was reassured that they will be moving to a better premises soon.

my favorite burger joint in jozi, no frills but does the basics extremely well. not a large menus but it's all about taste, service and convenience!
