the food here is badass. i really love this place and the guys who are running it seem genuine and enthusiastic about producing high quality burgers and chips above all else. nothing pretentious about this place but not to say it's only about the food. sure, it has a funny location and a bit incongruous with what jo'burgers are used to when it comes to restaurants but the place suits what they're after and if it allows them to make burger this good then i'm certainly not going to complain.

best burger in jhb. don't be fooled by the fast food appearance. every aspect of the burger is carefully thought out: thin, sweet buns; grass-fed beef patties with a tasty crust; classic 'the works' toppings; proper american style cheese; perfect crunchy outside, soft inside, crispy outside fries. homemade lemonade hits the spot. lettuce buns for paleo / gluten free people.

i can assure you that this is a true american burger — i'm american. their selection isn't vast, given that they are in the "beta" stages, but the burgers are amazing. since i moved here last year, i've struggled to find a simple burger joint. the fresh lemonade is great. chips are american-style fries. the location may dissuade you, but don't let it. great place for a quick burger.

probably the best burger in jozi. or at least one of. if you're getting one, get a double cheese burger, the works, extra bgr sauce and raw onions. trust.

after many recommendations i found myself drawn to @eatbgr to try out the much-hyped burgers.

service is spectacular right off the bat with smiles aplenty.

the concept is rather simple, select your basic burger (single or double, cheese or regular) and then add garnish and sauce.

i went overboard ordering a double burger (peppadews, pickles and lettuce with bgr sauce), fries and a drink which tips the scales at a shade over r100.

the burger was delicious if a tad fragile with both bun and patty succumbing to the forces of gravity. the meat was juicy and seasoned well to my tastes, although some may find the spices a but overwhelming. the fries were over salted in my opinion and i'll probably avoid them next time.

i wouldn't say that it lived up to the hype built up by social media but it's definitely worth more than one visit for those who enjoy a good burger.

i'm a huge burger lover (i'm not huge, just my love is), so i'm always missioning to find delicious burgers. was really disappointed with my bgr burger and i so badly wanted to like it because the lady at the counter was so sweet and friendly. the chips weren't bad just not super tasty. i didn't get sauce - an injustice. i only noticed when i walked away. the burger itself was tiny and not particularly yum and i didn't get the mayo i asked for. for the price you pay i thought it was a bit of a rip off. i would go back and give them another go in a few months (if only for the reason the lady was nice) hopefully my perception will change for the better.

went there today, going back tomorrow. monday isn't looking too salad-like either. i make a point of seeking out good burgers and this was the best i've ever had. the menu confidently offers up only double, single, cheese, no cheese. you can also add a bunch of extras at no additional cost, but don't expect some fancy gourmet bs; these guys aren't effing around. branding is minimal, as is their super stylish decor. everything they do is aimed at letting the burger shine - and that's one gleaming s.o.b.

i came after many recommendations and was expecting big things, the location is a bit strange. the staff were super friendly and the food came really quickly. the for was however a bit too salty and the burger was too small.

had a colleague tell me about this joint. i really couldn't believe it was that good, but after tasting their single cheese burger with "the works" i'm definitely a fan!

excellent burgers. juicy and well prepared. located in a bit of an odd spot in a petrol garage on jan smuts. a small menu ensures freshness. fries are delicious but its the burgers that shines. might just be the best burger in joburg. go give it a try.
