bad and worst. we went on a friday night for some nibbles and nice beers, we ended up disappointed and quite angry. service is terrible and completely vacant, the food ....what food? we order 3 dishes and we got delivered one at the time spaced by 30 minutes to each other, tasteless, frozen and too oily.

beers good but very overpriced, food crap, service really bad

great cider, horrible food,. such a pity! the cider was amazing, but the food was bland and overpriced and the service was less than ordinary.

overpriced and terrible food. beers are good, albeit a little overpriced. food is absolutely terrible and completely overpriced(over $40 for a burger the size of a dinner roll and sausages with a handful of mash potato). literally the worst burger i've ever eaten and the description on the menu is totally misleading. 'chips' turned out to be defrosted packet fries with no salt or sauces. overall, there are much better places to eat and drink especially at the prices they are charging

great beer, overpriced food. the pilsner i had was fantastic!!! although the person behind the bar said it was a small, apparently i got charged 11 dollars for it.

the artisan bread with olive oil and balsamic was delicious, but a beer and bread for 20 dollars seems a bit rich.

go for the beer. make sure they charge you the right price.

some good beers but terrible, overpriced food. the dick tracey beer was good, but my wine was served with lots of sediment in the bottom - the waiter even commented on how gross my glass looked, but they didn't offer to fix it. they also forgot one of our friends' meals...twice! it was only a burger but he was served at least half an hour after the rest of us had finished. also we were served meals that did not match the descriptions on the menu. e.g the slow braised pork burger was obviously deep fried and didn't have any of the 'apple slaw' touted on the menu. and the 'hops potatoes' ended up just being chips...that weren't properly cooked. shame.

top flight. beers (managed a few) were terrific... why would you drink mass produced...when you can saver a micro brew.

food too was good. for reference it was early friday 5pm.

it's on my return to list :-)

great weekend spot. i went here with a group of friends for a birthday lunch and drinks and it was great - good atmos, unique beers, yummy food, and the staff went out of their way to help us. will definitely go again. canberra needs more of this.

i was lucky enough to see my friend david for the second time in a few months, as he returned to canberra for two days due to work. david had learnt of bentspoke brewing co. before he arrived and organised a group of his friend’s to meet there to catch up. bentspoke brewery is a microbrewery, bar and restaurant in an apartment complex on the corner of mort and elouera streets in braddon. on the thursday night we frequented bentspoke, the two-story venue was packed, which i hear is a regular occurrence. regardless, we were lucky to find an area that seated the 6 of us without waiting for a table. the brewer at bentspoke is richard watkins, former head brewer at wig and pen in civic and the beer selection is comprehensive, which includes the barley griffin (a canberra ale), morts gold (a pilsner) and dick tracy (a fruity brown ale). on the night we were there, the boys were intrigued by the beer titled big nut – a dark ale with roasty c

what happened to the grain-crusted chips?!. on our first visit to bentspoke, we were very impressed with the beer and food. however, on our second trip we were disappointed to find the grain-crusted chips were no longer on the menu - why?!?! - they were a real winner. unfortunately, the chicken wings were soggy and their flavour not worth the mess. the barley griffin ale (a real winner the first time we tried it) lacked its distinctive oregano taste the second time round - so there is some inconsistency in the brewing that (we hope) will be ironed out over time. bring back those chips!

we went to bentspoke for a nice dinner but we very disappointed with the food. $28 for a chicken leg, some wilted lettuce and very salty mac & cheese. was not worth it. portion size was not much bigger than a small entre.
while we wernt impressed with the food, we did like the choice of beer&cider.
would go back for drinks not food.

we arrived just as they opened (11am fyi) and were served straight away. it was their 5th weekend since they opened on the weekend and you could feel it too. the restaurant is decorated in a “warehouse” style, it’s open and airy, with cool decor using old bike parts. mr e said that apparently the owner’s wife did the welding herself! so cool. i really want to recreate that vertical herb garden on my top right picture. the menu isn’t extensive but i think it caters for a lot of people. i couldn’t go past the ribs and wings so that’s what i ordered. mr e went for the ploughman and i was glad that he did, because i wanted it too. we were able to give little e bits of our food for lunch so he was happy too. there is also kids’ menu if you prefer, which i think are reasonably

the ploughman's platter looked amazing when a friend ordered it, so i decided to get it too. a cheese plate with baguette and a pork pie. only when mine came out, it didn't have any baguette - they replaced it with burger bun. not my idea of the perfect accompninment to a $20 cheese platter. to make matters worse, the burger bun was stale. had i been warned the kitchen was out of baguette i would have declined to order that particular menu item. replacing good bread with a stale burger bun is not good enough. and with no apology from the waiter or kitchen, i won't eat there again.
