great venue, great service. the first thing that strikes you about the belvedere apart from the amazing location is the warmth and professional welcome you receive not only from the staff but from cosimo the owner of belvedere.
this is arestaurantthat offers a very high standard of service to match the wonderful menu selection and outstanding quality of the dishes that we tasted throughout our memorable evening.
cosimo's team on therestaurantfloor are knowledgeable & nothing is to much trouble.
both menu and wine list have been well thought out with a choice for all palates.
if you are looking for a venue that has attention to detail to food and service you will find it at the belvedere bar and grill.

noticed thisrestaurantwhen we had dinner at the gusto da gianni end of may so arranged to have a dinner early this month.
we were shock to find the venue was so spacious when we first stepped in the dining area.
service was very proficient and friendly.
we ordered an antipasto platter and natural oysters to share for entrees. hero of this platter should be the pork belly with crunchy crackling. besides, the oysters were very fresh and refreshing.
mains of grilled fish and lasagna were good but the op rib was slightly over-done from the expected med-rare. otherwise, a full mark should be deserved😋

my family had booked dinner at therestaurantfor a 30th birthday. we had ordered drinks throughout the evening, the barmen or waiter often forgetting one of the drinks. trying to get the waiters attention was like pulling teeth, he told us to wait by putting his hand up and then spent the next 20 mins flirting with the table behind us and forgetting our order or desire to order.
we asked him which merlot (was amazing) they had recommended, he had to go back to the bar 3 times and still couldn’t tell us the name or brand, just said it came from
the hunter valley.
the food menu is quite short so you would expect the flavours to be incredible but unfortunately the chicken milanese was incredibly bland and tasteless, the potato was uncooked. we also ordered the antipasto platter for 4, would strongly recommended to order something else as the portion was not worth the $68 paid.
also, when it came to paying the bill they had placed the bill on the table (which was fine) within 2 minutes of bringing another glass of wine to the table for my mother and in less than 5 minutes we’re back requesting we pay it now so they can close. so ridiculous and rude considering we had been waiting for them all night to give us 5 mins of service without having to request it or wave our arms like idiots.
overall an incredible disappointing experience on what should have been a special occasion. would not recommend this restaurant

ok awesome! from the minute our group walked in “table of 6” we were welcomed, like one of those old italian restaurants, remember when the husband and wife ran the place and treated you like family.
drinks came immediately. then the normal discussion began. who wants what? what do you feel like?
like a well organised professional, the host asked if he could take the lead in our meal choices.
after a few smug looks at each other, it was his to take the lead in our meal.
wow we were amazed from start to finish. beautiful meat cooked to perfection. starters and sides that tempted the taste buds to go back for more.
i loved this experience especially when everyone seemed to get a little of everything they wanted.
my only down point which is almost nit picking, it was a hot day and being a semi openrestaurantit was rather warm inside with only ceiling fans for respite.
really the food spoke for itself and it left every one to enjoy the afternoon.

wanting to dine at a modern australianrestaurantwith views of the river, head over to portside wharf and you could find yourself sitting here at belvedere. an environment perfect for a date, a birthday party or just simply a gathering with a variety of dishes offered on their menu ranging from cold entrees to pasta or if you feel like mixed grill or even seafood or steak, belvedere's menu will suit any tastebuds. what intrigued me about therestaurantwould be first, the glass display in front of therestaurantshowing dry aged beef. although i have always been a regular at portside dining here and there, i never gave myself the time to try it here and so since we wanted to try somewhere new, we figured that here would be a good choice for a date night.

we came in expecting bar food, to find a small diverse menu. awesome layout and friendly staff, we had a french waitress who was attentive and friendly. we ordered rare pasture fed steak and it was amazing. maybe a tad expensive but that is ascot/portside for you. will definetly go there again for special occasions as the price is quite high. but otherwise way better value than the italianrestaurantacross which i would never eat at again.

hands down the worstrestauranti've been to in brisbane. staff were so rude, patronizing and downright creepy. they were aggressive and pushy the minute we walked in. the food was way overpriced and nothing special. could get a better steak at the local. one star is very generous. i left thisrestaurantabsolutely disgusted. hospitality at the very worst. never again.

do not recommend in winter if you generally like to feel comfortable and warm while enjoying your meal. this place was freezing cold (inside). i was told by staff, who really could not care less, there was no heating only air conditioning. looking around therestaurantthe majority of patrons were having their meals dressed in winter coats. personally this made my dining experience very uncomfortable. meals were ok, nothing great for the high prices charged. steak is accompanied by chips in a take-away cup and any salad/veg you have to buy extra as a side. so cold, didn't even stay for dessert. won't be returning.

excellent food and service. i have been meaning to write this for a while. we have eaten at belvedere for both lunch and dinner on a few occasions. the food is always well presented and delucious and the staff are very professional. i had my son's birthday in the function room and i could not fault anybody or anything. i mostly order the pork belly with a sav blanc and of course a dessert. the other members of my family enjoy the steak and pasta dishes. a greatrestaurantin a great location. :)

total delights. visiting from melbourne we decided to have dinner at belvedere on friday 20th december. i ordered baby squid for the entrée and eye fillet for my main. i was so impressed with the quality of the meals together with the level of the service shown by the owner cosimo and the friendliness of the staff that we decided to have both christmas eve dinner and christmas lunch at the restaurant. is there any otherrestaurantin brisbane which compares! i highly recommend belvedere restaurant.

terrible, terrible, terrible!! service here was appalling. we had to find the waiter ourselves to ask him if we could order rather than the waiter attending to us. when we finally did manage to place our orders it took 1 hour 20 minutes to receive our meals. i ordered my steak medium rare and it came out extremely well done. this from arestaurantwho's apparent claim to fame are their steaks. sent it back and told the waiter not to bother bringing out a replacement as didn't want to wait another hour. spoke to the owner about the poor service and poor meal quality and was pretty much brushed off. will never return and suggest you try one of the many other surrounding restaurants in the area.

we went for my husbands birthday thinking out of all
places they should be able to do a great vodka martini. no joke, it tasted like dirty salt water. service was bad on a monday night. so bad we decided to leave the emptyrestaurantin search of a good martini and some atmosphere.

on the up. belvedere has been one of those restaurants we have dined at a few times and has proven to be a little hit and miss. each time we have visited there has been a different chef in charge and on our recent visit this was no exception as we were to find out later.

therestaurantis warm and inviting the staff are friendly and very attentive and since our last visit a new wall feature has appeared,

as it was a saturday night therestaurantwas busy and had a lovely atmosphere although we both agree that on all occasions the lighting could be improved as it is a tad dark.

for entree i had the pork belly with the squash puree, apples and braised cabbage which was to die for the pork was tender and the cracking ( i need tips), my husband had the house smoked salmon, which i snuck a taste of and both agree was the star of the night.

for mains we had the beef cheek and as a man dose he had the 400g op rib served on the bone, both of which were cooked to perfection, the beef cheeks just melted, a fork and spoon would of been sufficiant.

it was however all about dessert for us, we decided to share both the apple and rhubarb crumble and a rice pudding. the crumble was everything a crumble should be sweet, tart and the crumble crunchy and moreish, the rice pudding scared me at first fennel with dessert? but what a surprise it was delicious and the crunchy white chocolate on top i must learn cause it was amazingly good.

i have read a lot of the reviews on here about belvedere and although i agree with many of them, however after our recent experience i feel its up a notch, and feel the need to share this experience on the night, we never met the new chef the food is definatly improved, we want to come back, the menu is modern and so was that of the presentation of our dishes, we will be back!!!

average meal for the price tag. although we were very well attended to and therestaurantwas well presented, the overall food quality did not match the standard. it was overall too average to justify paying $90 for a single course meal for 2 people including an alcohol beverage - that did not include an entree or dessert. the owner kindly greeted us on the way out, which was a lovely touch, but we won't rush to come back. there are plenty to choose from in town... i'm happy to pay for a great meal, but it was too average.
