i celebrated my 26th birthday at belvedere with 20 of my closest friends and the night was such a success thanks to the amazing staff who helped me plan it. the service was great, the canapés were to-die-for but the best part was the location and the ambiance, you really couldn't get better. all in all a great experience.

great drinks - fantastic live music. i went to belvedere with a few friends last sunday, i was pleasantly surprised to see that there was a jazz trio playing. the music was great, a mixed repertoire of brazilian bossa nova, jazz, and french songs, quite different from the usual offering. we had some amazing cocktails, just the perfect atmosphere for a sunday afternoon! we shall definitely go back as the live music is now on every sunday now!

brilliant!! we went on fri night & were greeted & seated @ our table, fabric servietted were placed by the waiter on our laps. the pork belly entree was devine! as were all our entree's. we had the chateubriand (hope i spelt that right) it was cooked to perfection & the flavours were a party in our mouths. every second at this place was enjoyable. not the place to go for a cheap feed but worth every penny. 4 people had entree, main & 1 drink each..the bill was $270. we were more than happy as the meals did not disappoint. we will go again.

thanks belvedere. i recently celebrated my 18th birthday at belvedere with my family and it was definitely one of the coolest nights out that i've ever had, great cocktails to choose from and a really good atmosphere. the staff were funny and very helpful and the owner, who shares my taste in clothes - bright! - was the nicest guy ever. loved the food, the meat dishes are really good and even my mum and dad who don't eat much meat had stuff to choose from. cant wait to go back, and as a side note the chocolate martini's are to die for.

possibly the worst dinner i have ever been served!!!. from the minute we walked in last saturday evening it was obvious that this place is extremely unorganized. the staff didn't know how to take orders and it took ages to order drinks although it was almost empty. also for some reason they have a massive wine list but do not sell and cab sav by the glass...???

when it came to food we ordered, with difficulty, at the bar (no table service where we were sitting, although the waitress was just standing around two meters from us doing nothing). i was not very happy to see that the over-priced steak only comes with chips and you have to pay $10 extra for a salad.

when our meals arrived we were given our steak on a plate with a tiny pot of very runny sauce and then we waited...10 minutes until our salad arrived which consisted of some rocket, cheese and 6 slices of pear wtf and then we waited another 5 minutes for our chips to arrive. it was really obvious that our steaks were extremely overcooked just by looking at them. the medium rare and medium were only told apart by a small pink hue that graced the middle of one of them. they were tough, dry and inedible. the tiny (and i mean tiny, the size of a shot glass) sauce had no flavour, no hint of mushroom, nothing...

our friends meals were of the same standard. cooked until dry and not tasty at all.

all in all eating here was a horrible experience and none of us will return. i am surprised they are still in business as there are so many great restaurants at portside and belvedere is definitely not one of them.

the only good thing was the manager refunded our meals. so thank you.

great venue, great service. the first thing that strikes you about the belvedere apart from the amazing location is the warmth and professional welcome you receive not only from the staff but from cosimo the owner of belvedere.
this is a restaurant that offers a very high standard of service to match the wonderful menu selection and outstanding quality of the dishes that we tasted throughout our memorable evening.
cosimo's team on the restaurant floor are knowledgeable & nothing is to much trouble.
both menu and wine list have been well thought out with a choice for all palates.
if you are looking for a venue that has attention to detail to food and service you will find it at the belvedere bar and grill.

noticed this restaurant when we had dinner at the gusto da gianni end of may so arranged to have a dinner early this month.
we were shock to find the venue was so spacious when we first stepped in the dining area.
service was very proficient and friendly.
we ordered an antipasto platter and natural oysters to share for entrees. hero of this platter should be the pork belly with crunchy crackling. besides, the oysters were very fresh and refreshing.
mains of grilled fish and lasagna were good but the op rib was slightly over-done from the expected med-rare. otherwise, a full mark should be deserved😋

my family had booked dinner at the restaurant for a 30th birthday. we had ordered drinks throughout the evening, the barmen or waiter often forgetting one of the drinks. trying to get the waiters attention was like pulling teeth, he told us to wait by putting his hand up and then spent the next 20 mins flirting with the table behind us and forgetting our order or desire to order.
we asked him which merlot (was amazing) they had recommended, he had to go back to the bar 3 times and still couldn’t tell us the name or brand, just said it came from
the hunter valley.
the food menu is quite short so you would expect the flavours to be incredible but unfortunately the chicken milanese was incredibly bland and tasteless, the potato was uncooked. we also ordered the antipasto platter for 4, would strongly recommended to order something else as the portion was not worth the $68 paid.
also, when it came to paying the bill they had placed the bill on the table (which was fine) within 2 minutes of bringing another glass of wine to the table for my mother and in less than 5 minutes we’re back requesting we pay it now so they can close. so ridiculous and rude considering we had been waiting for them all night to give us 5 mins of service without having to request it or wave our arms like idiots.
overall an incredible disappointing experience on what should have been a special occasion. would not recommend this restaurant

cossimo and his staff were great on a tuesday night , the salmon bruschetta and rib bone steak were a delight. cooked perfectly at medium rare.

well done belvedere!

the view over the river is also a
fantastic atmosphere, even though i dined alone. next time i’ll bring up the family.

ok awesome! from the minute our group walked in “table of 6” we were welcomed, like one of those old italian restaurants, remember when the husband and wife ran the place and treated you like family.
drinks came immediately. then the normal discussion began. who wants what? what do you feel like?
like a well organised professional, the host asked if he could take the lead in our meal choices.
after a few smug looks at each other, it was his to take the lead in our meal.
wow we were amazed from start to finish. beautiful meat cooked to perfection. starters and sides that tempted the taste buds to go back for more.
i loved this experience especially when everyone seemed to get a little of everything they wanted.
my only down point which is almost nit picking, it was a hot day and being a semi open restaurant it was rather warm inside with only ceiling fans for respite.
really the food spoke for itself and it left every one to enjoy the afternoon.

i really loved the interior of this restaurant, open but homey, fancy but cosy. the pasta was very nicely done, flavoured spot on and very generous with the crab meat. the lamb share plate was nice and filling but nothing very special. also tried the baked oysters and soup of the day, hearty and yummy but it’s something you could cook up quickly at home as well. nice place to relax and enjoy a ‘homey’ lunch or dinner.
