great drinks - fantastic live music. i went to belvedere with a few friends last sunday, i was pleasantly surprised to see that there was a jazz trio playing. the music was great, a mixed repertoire of brazilian bossa nova, jazz, and french songs, quite different from the usual offering. we had some amazing cocktails, just the perfect atmosphere for a sunday afternoon! we shall definitely gobackas the live music is now on every sunday now!

my family had booked dinner at the restaurant for a 30th birthday. we had ordered drinks throughout the evening, the barmen or waiter often forgetting one of the drinks. trying to get the waiters attention was like pulling teeth, he told us to wait by putting his hand up and then spent the next 20 mins flirting with the table behind us and forgetting our order or desire to order.
we asked him which merlot (was amazing) they had recommended, he had to gobackto the bar 3 times and still couldn’t tell us the name or brand, just said it came from
the hunter valley.
the food menu is quite short so you would expect the flavours to be incredible but unfortunately the chicken milanese was incredibly bland and tasteless, the potato was uncooked. we also ordered the antipasto platter for 4, would strongly recommended to order something else as the portion was not worth the $68 paid.
also, when it came to paying the bill they had placed the bill on the table (which was fine) within 2 minutes of bringing another glass of wine to the table for my mother and in less than 5 minutes we’rebackrequesting we pay it now so they can close. so ridiculous and rude considering we had been waiting for them all night to give us 5 mins of service without having to request it or wave our arms like idiots.
overall an incredible disappointing experience on what should have been a special occasion. would not recommend this restaurant

ok awesome! from the minute our group walked in “table of 6” we were welcomed, like one of those old italian restaurants, remember when the husband and wife ran the place and treated you like family.
drinks came immediately. then the normal discussion began. who wants what? what do you feel like?
like a well organised professional, the host asked if he could take the lead in our meal choices.
after a few smug looks at each other, it was his to take the lead in our meal.
wow we were amazed from start to finish. beautiful meat cooked to perfection. starters and sides that tempted the taste buds to gobackfor more.
i loved this experience especially when everyone seemed to get a little of everything they wanted.
my only down point which is almost nit picking, it was a hot day and being a semi open restaurant it was rather warm inside with only ceiling fans for respite.
really the food spoke for itself and it left every one to enjoy the afternoon.

well what a rip! $49 for a .... well what a rip!
$49 for a rib fillet as thick as 3 sheets of newspaper. i ordered med rare and got well done, sent itbackand the 2nd time round it came well done. presentation was plain terrible steak and chips and nothing else. for $50?
tap beer was $8.50 for the smallest beer glass i have ever seen.
service was great, they tried hard, but food was just poor and way too expensive.

wouldn't consider going here again. service was slack and waiters difficult to understand. ordered oysters for entree and we both ordered steak. oysters took a while to come out but steaks even longer. steaks when they finally arrived were cold sent themback3 times and all they did was kept cooking them so instead of medium we got well done. could have cooked it better ourselves for a $40 steak. manager gave us complimentary dessert which we would have preferred a discount on our bill. suggest getting chefs that know how to cook a steak properly.

terrible, terrible, terrible!! service here was appalling. we had to find the waiter ourselves to ask him if we could order rather than the waiter attending to us. when we finally did manage to place our orders it took 1 hour 20 minutes to receive our meals. i ordered my steak medium rare and it came out extremely well done. this from a restaurant who's apparent claim to fame are their steaks. sent itbackand told the waiter not to bother bringing out a replacement as didn't want to wait another hour. spoke to the owner about the poor service and poor meal quality and was pretty much brushed off. will never return and suggest you try one of the many other surrounding restaurants in the area.

never disappoints. i am a big fan of belvedere. i've eaten here a few times and always been impressed. the combinations of excellent service and good food (once i had the most amazing mushroom side dish here!). anyway my partner and i dined on wednesday evening and as usual the french manager and his team treated us the way all restaurant should. now for the food: entrées were oysters and liver pate. the pate missed a bit of bread and would have probably preferred a baguette rather than a brioche. oysters were fresh.
mains were steak and gnocchi. the steak was cooked perfectly and was tender. the home made gnocchi was also cooked perfectly and was very filling.
meals were accompanied by good quality wine. service was attentive and professional. i'll keep coming back.

impressive bar & grill. i am thoroughly impressed with the ambiance, fantastic service and beautifully well presented food. we went to this steak house on the friday night and found this place amazing. it's an authentic and classy steak house. we were greeted by a young manager/owner?? that kept coming checking on us during the dinner, and that made us felt special. our waiter was a young and lovely young lady who took care of us like nowhere in brisbane. the food was authentic and succulent, in good proportions. i had the baramundi served with a fennel sauce which was really nice, my husband had a huge rib on the bone that looked delicious. the service was delicate and full of attention (only exception it was a bit slow on the drink, they took some time to come, but being there was just relaxing and laid back), a wine selection that is quite impressive and maybe a bit confusing. underground parking was a big plus. this little gem was our conversation topic during the drive back. i'll definitely gobackwith friends to impress and indulge.

even better. just a short review - had our second dining experience at belvedere last night - another american overseas visitor who was after a good steak. we knew where to take him. this time i had the 200g eye fillet and it was melt in your mouth delicious - cooked perfectly medium rare. i couldn't go past the mushrooms with gorgonzola again - perfection on a plate. ohhhh and the mushroom sauce was one of the best i've ever had.

i did try the garlic prawns for entree and they were lovely - but i wished i had stuck with my oysters, i had serious food envy when hubby's arrived! as for our visitor - he was super impressed and has begged us to take himbackthere again on his next visit. the chef was so wonderfuly accomodating - our visitor likes his steak well done (why????) and also wanted the eye fillet - the chef suggested butterflying the steak so that it wouldn't take 45 minutes to cook, which our visitor was very happy with. his statement at the end - next time i'm having 400g!

hubby and i shared the mixed sorbets for desert - lemon, passionfruit and raspberry - the perfect end to another wonderful meal. this place is seriously good - especially if you are a steak lover.

wow!. we had an international business visitor in town and i was on the hunt for somewhere nice to impress him for dinner - on his last visit it had been tukka, which he thoroughly enjoyed. so the hunt began and i came across belvedere and was impressed with the reviews and ratings on here.

we picked up our visitor from south bank and took the citycat up to brett's - what a perfect way to showcase brisbane and start our evening. and it only got better from there. belvedere was truly amazing.

our party of six were seated with a warm welcome and drinks came very quickly to our table while we decided on our orders. i think just about all of us ordered the oysters natural for starters - divine - perfectly plump and creamy oysters and the madiera jelly was an interesting touch. personally i like my oysters as they come - if they are good they only need a squeeze of lemon, but even i had the jelly with a couple of my oysters.

next up we all ordered steak - hubby and i had the cape grim (rib eye fillet for me, on the bone for him); our visitor had the dry-aged and others around the table, various cuts. every steak was cooked to perfection (a mix of med-rare to blue) and we were all extremely impressed. we ordered sides of steamed vegetables (to die for) and ohhhh, the wild mushrooms with gorgonzola (perfection - i could have happily eaten just that).

i'm not normally a desert girl - but the white chocolate mousse sounded too good to pass up on - and it was beyond what i had expected. others around the tabled ordered lemon tart and lemon sorbet and enjoyed their choices as much as i did.

the service was impeccable - the perfect mix of attentive yet not stiffling.

but the highest praise comes from my hubby - he loves a good steak and we trawl the country trying to find one that meets his very high standards. the usual comment from him is "that was good, but not great". we left last night with him saying it was the best steak he has ever had - i nearly fell over.

so thank you belvedere for a wonderful night - our texan visitor was very impressed with our choice of dining venue. it was beyond excellent and we will definately be back.

p.s. loved the champagne glass chandelier

best. place. ever!. this place was absolutely fantastic and i can't wait to gobackagain! despite the rain we decided to go out tonight and didn't expect to see it so busy with that much rain, i know it is friday though. anyway we dined there and the food was amazing - good sized portions, complementing flavours, ahhh i don't know how to describe it except to say its been my most memorable food ever. i was in heaven.
i eat out a lot (approx 3 nights a week) at everywhere from the cheap thai places to pubs with their big steaks, to the fine dining restaurants with their tasty but tiny portions.
we had the garlic prawns, scallops and the ciabata bread as entree. both were fantastic, the bread was soft, fresh, warm, and tasty.
mains we had the dry aged rib on the bone and the curry baramundi - both were seriously the best!
the service was prompt, efficient, and friendly without being intrusive. the operations are ran with precision by the manager who loves to have a chat and comes to check regularly one everyone. now for me that's service.
they have plenty of wines to choose from, but i didn't drink.
a lot of comfort foods that'll be sure to fill you up. i loved how the food was amazing while the portion size was generous.
we loved this place!

a intimate meal at an exclusive location.
my partner and i booked a table for 6:30 on a friday night, as we entered we were quickly greeted by the owner cosimo. he showed us to our table which over looked the brisbane river. i asked the waitress her recommendation for a sweet beer, she told me the belle vue kreik was popular and soon i knew why! with a sweet rasberry flavour it was the perfect drink for a perfect evening. i ordered the mouth watering roasted bone marrow as entree and the cape grim eye fillet. as we received the mains cosimo equired about our meal so far, we were very pleased. the cape grim steak melted as it touched my palate and it was quickly devoured washedbackof course with the belle vue kreiek. we were both impressed with such a personal service at such a busy time. the staff were always helpful and we didnt wait too long for our meal. top marks belvedere for a wonderful evening.

after raving on about this place to colleagues, they suggested i could send my thanks by leaving a review on this site.. so here goes..

after only planning the babysitter, my wife and i came to belvedere on nye without booking, and despite a very full restaurant we were welcomed into the bar as soon as we approached the entrance by a very friendly tall barman & lady (manager?) who seated us.
we we're quickly made to forget that we left our plans to the last minute and had a fantastic night away from the kids!
the band played a great selection of current songs, and the cocktails that were recomended were too tasty! one was not enough! the view of the fireworks was great- but the show shorter than expected..
we will definitely be booking a table for the family next year!
if you are looking for friendly attentive service you will find it here! nothing was too much trouble for the staff working in the front bar. i look forward to comingbackfor dinner in the restaurant, and more of those yummo cocktails!

thank you & happy new years belvedere!

fish curry was not gluten free. i had a really nice meal here a few weeksbackbut i think the staff need to be better informed about the menus gluten free options. i ordered the fish curry as i was assured it was gluten free and i am allergic to gluten. less than 2hours later i knew i had eaten gluten and was not well the rest of the night. better staff education is a must about allergy handling!

fabulous experience. one of the best (if not the best) dining experiences i have ever had. amazingly swift and friendly service, lovely atmosphere from the pre-dinner drink in the bar through to the spacious seating in dining area - but the food was the standout. as one of my party said "every other meal i have will have to be measured against this". breads and dessert were delicious but my main of lamb was to die for. we will all definitely bebackwith family and friends.
