baumhower's restaurant

today i tried the newbaumhower'srestaurant. i have long
been an avid customer of baumhower's, even when it was called wings. i've
always found the food to be excellent, and service as well. however, i got
my first disappointment today! i found the food and service to be good as
always, but this new open seating arrangement, had a noise level that was
intolerable in my opinion, and i'll bet close to 90 decibels (or more),
which is an industry requirement of ear plugs! i noticed the servers
and customers of adjacent tables, were having to lean in to talk to each
other. when people couldn't hear, they would just talk louder, so the
noise level just fed on it's self.  i left today with my ears ringing, and
dampened enthusiasm about going back.

had a great experience!. a friend of mine and i ran some errands on fri., 4/24/15, and we decided it was time to grab some dinner. first place that came to my friends' mind wasbaumhower'sbecause he loves the hot lips appetizer.
we got there around 5:15 p.m. and our server was kayla h. she was great and has a great sense of humor!
we had a great time and the food was excellent! i ordered the gooey burger and it was delish!
my friend and i left at around 6:20 p.m. and there were scores of folks waiting to be seated.
my friend and i will definitely come back!!!

amazing. my boyfriend took me for the first time tobaumhower'slast night. i have to say i thought it was just a wing place but man was i wrong. even thought the parking lot was full we were at a table in less than 10 mins. our waitress allyce was there in a flash. she had a great understanding of the menu and had very helpful suggestions. we started off with the delicious fried mushrooms which were fresh and not from a can. allyce suggested i had to try the hot mama brown so i took her advise. its was wonderful and served promptly. i would highly recommend this place! i will be going back and i will ask for allyce every time.

good job!!. i wanted to share my experience atbaumhower'swith you all!! i came in with my son on feb.24,2014 ,tywana was my server and damian was the manager on duty. service was great and the food was excellent i haven't had a good dinner experience in a while. thank you guys for having awsome workers you guys rock.

never again. my husband and i decided to have a friday night dinner out and chose to go tobaumhower'sbecause we have eaten at the montgomery and tuscaloosa locations and enjoyed it. bad idea!!!!! i don't know if i have ever had service this bad, ever. our waitress was clueless. she took our drink order and disappeared. she took forever to return with our drinks. we ordered an appetizer and after another long period, she returns to tell us that she forgot to put our order in and that they are rushing us our appetizer. we then wait and wait and wait for our meal. then we wait and wait and wait for the check. i could not believe how bad she was at her job. the couple behind us were also getting fed up with her. now about the food. the appetizer that she forgot to order and then put a rush on, tasted like it had been warmed in the microwave. i ordered the grilled lemon garlic chicken with grits. my grits had the film that comes from grits sitting too long, stirred in. i literally separated the film from the rest of the grits. every food item from the appetizer to biscuits to meal was, at best, lukewarm. when she finally brought our check, we went to the front to pay at the take out counter only to be informed that we couldn't pay cash there only debit or credit. what?????? i wasn't about to go and wait on this girl to come get my money so i paid with debit and she got a $3 tip. my husband and i are typically very good tippers, because we appreciate people who take pride in their job and do it well, but she blew it!!! oh and i almost forgot, they were running around trying to get somebody to roll silverware, because they were out of clean silverware. it was 5:30p.m. on friday, how do you run out of silverware? needless to say, we will not be back. as a matter of fact when we left i wanted to tell the people waiting in the lobby to cut their losses and go somewhere else. awful! awful!

horrible lunch. after a busy day of shopping, we decided to try outbaumhower'srestaurant on the recommendation of a friend. well, that was a bad idea. for starters we had the salsa and chips. the menu states fresh homemade salsa (thats not what you get!!! it might have been fresh out of the jar) as for the chips, they were slightly stale or more likely straight out of a bag.

i opted for the wings which were actually quite good. overly priced for what you get but not bad tasting. now for the less than pleasant part of our meal.

rachel had the a side salad drowned in dressing after she requested the dressing on the side ( servers pay attention to your customers). as for her main course, rachel had fish & grits described as (caribbean-grilled fish perfectly seasoned, then gently grilled to tender perfection and served with our homemade alabama stone-ground grits of the day with stewed okra & tomatoes.) well, that's not what you get. the fish was old and over-cooked, lacking in flavor or taste. as for the grits, i'm not sure how you can ruin something so simple. i guess when you cook them hours before hand it kills the flavor. the okra and tomatoes, way more tomatoes than okra i guess it should have said tomatoes with a okra side.

lastly the restaurant was like having lunch in a sauna, excessively hot in the dining area. even though our server deja was a very pleasant and professional individual, service was quite slow.

if you opt to dine atbaumhower'sbe sure to make sure the prices your charged match whats on the menu, because ours didn't. our server had to clear it with the manager (who never came out when there was a problem)
to correct out ticket.

baumhower's you've lost two new people to huntsville who will not be back.

love it. i have been frequenting wings, which is nowbaumhower'sfor tge last 10-15 years and have always loved it. great food and service. you can't go wrong.

great customer service. i went tobaumhower'sfor the first time with my husband. we did not want to wait so we sat at a hightop in the bar. the service was extremely slow and the waitress never came back to our table to check on us the entire time. we also ordered a side of fries that were never brought out to us, but we were charged for. the wings we ordered were also very mediocre.

a few months later we decided to try it out again. the hostess again asked us if we wanted to wait or sit in the bar. i simply said i did not want to sit in the bar due to the bad service we had in there last time. a manager happened to over hear this and sat us immediately. he also apologized for the poor service we had before. not only did he do this, but he gave us a complimentary appetizer of garlic biscuits and a free dessert. it was the absolute best customer service i have ever received in a restaurant. the burgers and buffalo chicken sandwich are delicious, not to mention that their fried pickles are one of the best things i have ever eaten!!! definitely recommend trying it out.

love it!. i have been a regular atbaumhower'sfor several years. the food is always great, and george bailey always makes sure our dining experience is the best!
it's hard to pick a favorite, but the wings are awesome! sandwiches, salads, steak, chicken, seafood, .....it's all good!

great food. i am a regular at baumhowers. at least once per week. wings is known for its buffalo wings, but a trip through their menu will find many different entrees. i have yet to have a bad meal there. the food is always tasty, and the service is top-notch.

wings, chicken sandwiches, pot-roast, burgers, the list goes on and on. and that is just the lunch menu. the dinner menu is even more extensive.

the managers will circulate through the dining area regularly inquiring about the food and service. george baily is especially friendly and engaging, and has even given us samples of new dishes, on the house, and asked our opinion on the offering. rarely do the new dishes not live up to the great tastes found at baumhowers.

lunch crowds can be pretty heavy, but it seems as if they never miss a beat.

great food, great service, reasonable prices. those are the reasons why i am a repeat customer and highly recommend bobbaumhower'swings to anyone.

our server ebony was fantastic. these guys have a new 128 ounce container of beer that is a great deal! the manager george bailey came by after our meal and was not only courteous, but also stayed and chatted with our group.baumhower'sis absolutely arab's favorite huntsville restaurant! thanks again george and ebony!
