thisrestaurantwas amazing in every way. our server was friendly and extremely knowledgable about the menu. everything we ordered was spot on-- lobster bisque (to die for), chickpea purée, beef empanadas and fish tacos. the price was extremely reasonable and the food superb.

batanga is a lively and fun latin-inspired tapasrestaurantwith an enormous, downright magical patio. it was a gorgeous, crisp, houston autumn evening, so we sat outside and ordered a pitcher of sweet, fresh, smooth sangria to share before starting in on the food.

my worst dinning experience ever... this places sucks!!! someone stole my purse inside therestauranton a saturday night and nobody care about it, no the waitress or even the manager of the place, they refuse to show me the video tapes of the cameras and the manager made it sounds like it was my fault for no paying attention. beside that, they completely forgot our drinks, so we had to order them twice, our food got cold just because my friends and i were looking for my purse and of course they didn't reheat it for us. a completely disappointing experience!!

wow. what can i say besides acknowledging that i should have read the reviews first. downtown houston was dead on a sunday morning...ghost town practically, and the service at thisrestaurantcould not be me detached than if they just stayed home. menu looked amazing but best i can tell, it's like an enthralling novel because the service rendered it a perfect work of fiction.

horrible. went here forrestaurantweek and couldn't have had a worse experience. the steak was chewy, the cucumber avocado salad was so lemony it was inedible. service took over two hours and made us late to our event. we would have sent food back but we were in a rush. i wish i could get my money back.

this place has very poor customer service. one of therestauranthostess was extremely rude. she yelled at us because we asked to be seated inside. our waiter did not place our order on time and after waiting forever, he did not bring all that we ordered. valet parking cost $8 and they had only two guys taking care of it. after waiting like 20 mins for the car, they didn't even open the door of the passenger. i wish i could say that all this trouble is worth the food but theirs tapas are very disappointing. crispy calamari and chicken croquettes had the same bad taste, they add too much spices. potatoes had nothing special and i can't say how the cheese bread is as it was never brought to the table.
