bar hop

it’s been a long journey to here, the final meal in toronto before heading to the next destination. we were originally going to fring’s, but we got tired of waiting, and went to bar hop instead:. with their wideselectionof beers, we were all able to choose one that we liked, or get a cocktail (g&t up top!). i had a flight of beers, all stouts that i wanted to try, none that i really remember, and again, not as good as the beer from iceland, but they were good, ontario beers. we also had the cheese platter as an appetizer, and i had the salmon salad as my main:

pretty disappointing overall.  service lacked warmth/personal interest.  food was greasy/lacking in advertised flavours.  goodselectionof drinks and a friendly bouncer.

go for the drinks, but not the food.  the service is fine, too. this place has a hugeselectionof drinks. the decor is grungy. and the food menu sounds amazing, but the execution is very poor. we went in the afternoon on the weekend for lunch. we ordered the pork cheek macaroni and cheese and the garlic donuts. the donuts looked burnt and you could taste the greasy frying oil, but it didn't make the crust crunchy. the inside of the donuts were just bready - nothing special. the garlic flavour wasn't heavy enough and the dip was okay. there was parmesan cheese grated over top, but the cheese didn't stick to the dry donuts, so it seemed kind of pointless. the pork cheek macaroni and cheese was expensive and it was the worst macaroni and cheese i've ever had. the sauce was grainy and flavourless.  there was no real pork cheek in it - it was just pork skin that had been overly deep fried. using pork rind instead of pork cheek meat does not justify the price or false advertising. the brussel sprout apple salad that accompanied the mac and cheese, however, was quite good.

one of my favourite spots to be. they have an incredibleselectionof beers, so if you are a beer fan this place is heaven. they have great food that compliments the beers.

if you're going in the evening, be prepared to wait in line! came here on a friday night and unsurprisingly, found the place packed and buzzing with excited conversations. it's not hard to see why bar hop is so popular... for starters, it has a wideselectionof craft beer (as well as other types of drinks) and fantastic bar food to boot. despite all the people, service is also fairly quick, friendly and accommodating. 

honestly, with a place like bar hop, there's no reason for you to bar hop! /dadjoke

one of the best bars in toronto! we typically stop in once a week for a few craft pints and the bar hop burger. the burger is delicious and decadent with all the regular toppings plus bacon, aged cheddar and bone marrow aioli.

always a goodselectionof craft beers on tap (over 30) and great food menu including a daily meat pie and vegetarian pie. the bartenders and servers are among the most knowledgable in the city when it comes to beer.

come early because space is limited and the locals all know this the place to be.

lively bar, largeselectionof beer, super crowded even on a sunday, friendly servers, nice music, decent food, might have to wait a while to be seated.

it feels weird reviewing and rating this place highly when i haven't had a thing to eat there. nonetheless, here it goes... i went to check this place out with friends on a sunday. i had read about their beerselectionand once i got there the tap menu did not disappoint. with the majority of beers priced at 5/pint on sundays, this is a place you could linger and chat with friends over 1, 2, or 5 pints at the end of the week. if you love beer, you should go. if you don't like beer, you should go. with such a bigselectionyou're bound to find a brew that you like without too much of an investment. #beersundays

amazing drinkselectionand unique appetizers. bar hop never leaves you feeling disappointed! i highly suggest stopping by before a jays game.

rating is based on the beer offerings. they've got beers from all over the world and a goodselectionof local brews. havent tried the menu although it looks tasty.

theselectionof beverages at this place is incredible!! i specifically went in for the ciders and my palate was loving every minute of it!! theme is so vast and categorized into local and international brews! they even have a samplers tray with  popular draft choices! i chose two: spirit tree pub cider and farmhouse cider! if you have a chance to go-give it a try!  they have the common beer appetizer menu with deep fried and crunchy snacks! the place is full! friendly staff and boisterous environment! the dim lighting is great on the eyes!!!

their drink menu is extensive with 30 beers on tap, 2 cask beers and pages and pages of canned/bottled choices. there’s also a wideselectionof gluten-free ciders..

i really, really enjoyed our experience at the bar hop and now i understand why they are so popular all the time. their food is excellent; probably the best and most memorable pub food i’ve had and theirselectionof beer is incredible. their service, needless to say, is also superior. well done, bar hop! :)

the draft beerselectionis pretty awesome, really enjoyed the mussels and portobello mushroom risotto balls. great spot for a saturday night out.
