bar hop

it’s been a long journey to here, the final meal in toronto before heading to the next destination. we were originally going to fring’s, but we got tired of waiting, and went tobarhop instead:. with their wide selection of beers, we were all able to choose one that we liked, or get a cocktail (g&t up top!). i had a flight of beers, all stouts that i wanted to try, none that i really remember, and again, not as good as the beer from iceland, but they were good, ontario beers. we also had the cheese platter as an appetizer, and i had the salmon salad as my main:

group of people on our return flight from reykjavik had recommendedbarhop. there were pages of beer options, and their food menu had some diversity. the wait staff was attentive/friendly, and the food was good. i liked the relaxed, industrial setting.

so good, so, so good. mmmmbarhop. hardly a beer drinker, but its just so good. atmosphere is great, food also great. beer sampler is a must.

if you're going in the evening, be prepared to wait in line! came here on a friday night and unsurprisingly, found the place packed and buzzing with excited conversations. it's not hard to see whybarhop is so popular... for starters, it has a wide selection of craft beer (as well as other types of drinks) and fantasticbarfood to boot. despite all the people, service is also fairly quick, friendly and accommodating. 

honestly, with a place likebarhop, there's no reason for you tobarhop! /dadjoke

one of the best bars in toronto! we typically stop in once a week for a few craft pints and thebarhop burger. the burger is delicious and decadent with all the regular toppings plus bacon, aged cheddar and bone marrow aioli.

always a good selection of craft beers on tap (over 30) and great food menu including a daily meat pie and vegetarian pie. the bartenders and servers are among the most knowledgable in the city when it comes to beer.

come early because space is limited and the locals all know this the place to be.

craft beers and a food menu that you will automatically fall in-love with upon first skim. i've come uponbarhop with craft beers as it's sole purpose, but i vow to no longer makebarhop as my post-dinner stop, i will let it become my entire evening. their garlic doughnuts were paired with a beautiful bone marrow and garlic aioli - it was so, so good. doughnuts of perfect density, and strong tinges of garlic. beautiful.

bar hop was more like a table hop for me within the bar. we were 5 of us and waited for an hour only to be offered a table meant for 2 guests. we turned that option down and were then sitting onbarstools for more than an hour, again, in the hopes that soon we will be getting a table for all 5 of us together which was supposed to be available in 30 mins from when we entered. ok, so you may think why did we not just walk out! well, it was tuesday night and they have fresh oysters on menu so we were particularly interested in that.
2 positives - goodbarmenu and a very considerate server. unfortunately, the manager was a pain and had random issues with letting us occupy a table which was available and looked like it was meant for 6 people. issues quoted were fire hazard, blocking the aisle, table meant only for 4 people,etc.
never again will i go this place and would not recommend it to anybody because what you get here, in terms of food and drinks, you can get anywhere! so why then this sick attitude by the manager? it's more of abarskip for me now.

amazing drink selection and unique appetizers.barhop never leaves you feeling disappointed! i highly suggest stopping by before a jays game.

one of the three best places for craft beer in toronto. among that triumvirate,barhop has the deepest and most thought out menu – which seems to continually improve. the tap list has some real gems, but also accessible options for those just dabbling in advanced beerology. have won well-deserved awards for their knowledgeable staff. best to go on sunday, monday, or tuesday for cheap pints, beer and mussels, and cheap oysters, respectively.

next stop:barhop. dark, cozy craft beer place about a 5 minute walk from banh mi boys. drinker’s paradise! big beer list! love it!

i invited my friend valerie to come and watch with me and we met up for a quick bite atbarhop just a few doors down from the theater (i should point out though that the best bite of the night was the garlic donuts!). securing the tickets after dinner, as we approached the doors, we saw that there was a reception area.

i really, really enjoyed our experience at thebarhop and now i understand why they are so popular all the time. their food is excellent; probably the best and most memorable pub food i’ve had and their selection of beer is incredible. their service, needless to say, is also superior. well done,barhop! :)
