bambini trust wine room

had the fruit salad, scrambled eggs, crab omelette and the avocado on toast. the fruit salad was fresh and the mascarpone was sweet and agoodaccompaniment but it usually comes with coconut yoghurt, except they were out today. the crab omelette wasn’tgoodvery well, it was spongy and cooked on way too low a heat. the avocado on toast is what you would expect. the scrambled eggs were bland as were the mushrooms and bacon. overall the food was not great and neither was the service. i will not be back

i have been coming here for years. this is an old world establishment with lovely meals, hospitable service and only trying to please. it is full of business people in the morning andgoodvibe and atmosphere. will visit each time i’m in sydney.

nice food, sadly after asking 4 times for them to put a candle in a piece of cake for a friend on a special occasion...they could not do it. then our waiter became very rude to us after a $900 dollar dinner. never been treated this way by wait staff...food wasgoodbut they don’t get customer service. ruined a special night...

mygoodfriend jenny is a shopper you see. while we were at hermes just for her, their staff highly recommended bambini as the go to place when we asked where to dine in the area. she swears that it's worth it. and it was.

bambini serves european food and they did this so well. they have a bar and a restaurant side separated on a hallway. we ended up with the bar/ cafe as the latter opens only for dinner. the place was packed and we knew we were in the right spot. its customers were seemingly all locals while its wait staff from different cultures.

the menu on paper did not impress as it was a plain sheet with lots of words, no visuals and none of those appetizing descriptions. these changed when we tried a series of small plates.

croquettes had a crispy golden brown touch with a surprisingly creamy filling inside, this one was a pleasure filled bite. i also tremendously enjoyed their version of hummus, it was creamy and full of fresh well seasoned chick peas.

calamari, a classic starter was their prized piece. it was bold and tasty, and fried just right. it was chewy good! even the bread that came with a chunk of aged blue cheese was delightful, thanks to its sweet and interesting blend of fruits in it.

bambini is the stop here in sydney. if you are in town, i highly recommend you check them out.

selected by my favourite workday breakfast buddy, this previously unknown to me place was a delight. everything was just fine and sweet!
the highest priced regular coffee i have come across outside of perth but also the best in the cbd i have tasted so we were off to a great start. we were 'fitted in' as it seems bookings are wise even for breakfast at 7:30. the dining space is not large and the food is very verygoodso there isgoodreason why.
i had the frittata - very generously sized, light as a sponge cake and full of flavours from the prosciutto and chèvre cheese. my delightful companion had the alaskan crab omelette which i stole a taste of. this was delicious and will be my choice next time.
friendly staff and a cosy ambience to top off the savoury delights.
rarely do i recommend however in this case i offer this one up as well worth a visit. a long lunch is next up for us.

good food and great venue for a business lunch if you are in cbd. do try to book before. extensive wine list and agoodfine dining place with service to match.

came here for my birthday dinner on a saturday night. i ordered the pappardelle with slow cooked lamb and rosemary ($34), and my partner ordered the duck confit ($37) with a side of fries ($8). i didn't think the flavour was anything special, maybe even bordering on the bland side. the pasta was well cooked though. the fries weregoodbut again, nothing out of the ordinary. my partner enjoyed his duck confit. it was quite overpriced for what we received. 

for dessert we ordered the crema catalina ($17) and torta caprese ($17). the crema wasn't very flavourful and i didn't enjoy the texture. i really enjoyed the mandarin ice cream that came with the torte, and the salted caramel sauce was delicious. the cake itself was also nice, quite rich though after a few bites. it was probably the stand out dish for me for the night. service was lovely too.

really nice decor, very old school italian. beer choice is terrible,goodcocktail list, but didn't try any. wine list very good, and has a decent choice of half bottles. we had a cracking sancerre, agoodbordeaux, and rounded our with the kracher.
entrees were good: fresh oysters and caprese. mains are self supporting, cotelleta with veg, lamb with some horrid grain salad. order chips. dessert was ok. coffee ok.

visited bambini last week for a romantic dinner with my wife. arrived on time and seat quickly. service level early was excellent. entree of zucchini flower was not to my taste. we waited over an hour for mains, when maître de advised that our order had been lost in the kitchen and apologised. we were getting ready to leave.

when it did arrive it was wonderful. i had the market fish of flounder. prepared untraditionally and tasted beautiful.
my wife had the pumpkin ravioli. although tasty she was disappointed wit three pieces of ravioli.

bambini made up for the delay by again apologising and providing us with some chocolate truffles and canadian ice wine. this was the highlight.

i must say that they did make a mistake, owned up to it, apologised and madegoodwith a desert.
we did appreciate this and would revisit again.

unfortunate. we were out for a senior management function - 6 executives of a major organisation to celebrate a great year. we were hoping to havegoodfood and services. the food was great - so sumptuous. would have rated the food top score. the service whereas is the disappointment - our table was in front of the entry and backed the coffee machine. you could imagine the disruption . the waiter took prompting to serve us our first drinks. during the meal, our wine glasses were regularly empty and again the waiter had to be promoted. when desert arrived, the waiter missed one order. it was a night of celebration and we wished that maybe a slightly more cheery waiter may be more complimentary than a snob. i have been a regular customer of bambini and had recommended bambini to my peers. this was quite an embarrassment.

great food. had a great lunch here with friends and everything was perfect from start to end. service was knowledgeable and attentive, the food was reallygood- we all had different pasta and the wine list was excellent. nice ambiance too, we'll be back.

poor service and food. i came here with my girlfriend on the 13th feb and was disappointed from beginning to end. arrived to see tables outside the karaoke bar next door and a table with diners right at the restaurant entrance. i immediately thought with a table in front of the door that the entrance must have been from the bambini wine room next door. as i proceed with my girlfriend to the wine room door, i was rudely turned back from a patron that said they've hired the wine room for a private function however there was no signage to indicate this. as it turns out the restaurant entrance was behind the diners with a table at the entrance so we squeezed past them and finally into the restaurant.

a host greeted us upon entry and proceed to seat us at a table and gave us a wine menu and just the wine menu. 5 minutes later, she returned with some water and as she was pouring the water realised she forgot the food menu and notified us she will get them. 10 minutes later despite seeing her walk around the restaurant, we still didn't get a food menu. i eventually had to flag down a waiter to get us a food menu and the host never came back which i was grateful for.

the waiter was verygoodand attentive. pleasant to deal with and ensured our wine and water glasses were constantly full.

the food was disappointing. entree we had chicken liver pate and iberico jamon. the chicken liver pate was server with a measly portion of chutney and sourdough which went quickly and the pate was too strong to eat on it's own. the iberico jamon didn't work as the taste of the figs overwhelmed any taste from the smoked miga. for mains we had the confit of duck and steak frittes. duck was very dry but came in a nice serving. the steak was about an inch thick so the middle was absolutely raw and not of my request of medium well. you would think that the chefs would understand the difference from cooking thick to thin steaks of meat. the steak also came with a serving of fries. fries that are identical to the ones you get a macdonalds. considering how cold they were when i received them, one could be lead to think they ran around the corner to macdonalds and bought the fries there. for dessert we had the tiramisu which was served in a glass jar. on top leading into the jar was a mountain of shredded dark chocolate and inside was very small serving of dry mascarpone and biscuit. there was no taste of coffee and the over use of dark chocolate overwhelmed any chance of tasting anything else.

after dessert, it was about 10pm and the restaurant was finishing up dinner service. we finally found our waiter and asked for the bill. upon receiving it, the waiter disappear into the back. after waiting another 10 minutes, we decided to just walk to the register and pay. so much for a classy restaurant. i don't know if the owner go the waiter to do some back kitchen work or what but after such attentive service throughout dinner, it was disappointing to leave waiting and frustrated.

bambini trust ticked off the list but never to return again.
