babe's chicken dinner house

first time eating there and it was amazing!! i had the chicken fried steak which is the best i have ever eaten. for desert i had the chocolate pie which is also amazing! i would recommend this place to anyone from a date night to a family night out. this restaurant had great atmosphere and great service along with amazing food.

chicken strips. if you are close to the square in carrollton... don't miss babes... the chicken strips with jalipino honey mustard are one of the top foods to put into your mouth in the world. if you have room the coconut cream pie is a dream... becareful because you could hurt your self eating here....

service vs. volume. i have no problem waiting in line for a hour for a fabulous meal. but what i do have is the server we had last tue night. i used to work in the service industry, so i am more particular and tolerable at the same time. the service was just plain and simple - bad. she must have been in the industry for a while, and maybe that was what the problem was. playing around made us waited for our food, i wouldn't have been half as mad if the food wasn't solid cold. no one at our table would ever go back to that location ever again.

went to babe' s with a friend. after having heard so much about this place, i expected the food to be great. i ordered the chicken tenders. to me, they tasted like chicken you get at any other chicken place. nothing special. they do give you plenty of food though.

babe's is a like a cracker barrel without a menu. the meat quality is mediocre, the coffee is skunky, and they don't serve beer or wine. the mandatory side dishes are, however, excellent.

we went here for office team lunch and had tender chicken as well as fried chicken
the best part of this place is ambiance you feel like you have reached to some vintage place using some time machine.

though it has some selected dishes but they are best in what they serve. chicken tender was really awesome..

and i actually liked the salad as well as the biscuits that they served at the start.

so all and all its a nice place to be in a place like dallas...

if you have not been to babe's, you will need to experience the delectable food served. the grilled chicken and the fried fish is awesome. you must certainly top off your meal with the banana pudding. it is very tasty. this is a must try.

we went to the carrollton outlet for brunch. we had to wait for 20 minutes to get a table. since there were 4 adults, we decided to try hickory smoked chicken, fried chicken, fried chicken steak, and chicken fingers/strips. the free flow of green salad with vinegar was most appetising. we thoroughly enjoyed this meal, supported by friendly & cheerful service, and will be back!

first night in dallas and was in the mood for fried chicken. our son took us to babes and did we ever get fried chicken! all you can eat and family style. and ever so melt in your mouth biscuits! good deal and good service!

stopped at the garland babe's and was so impressed we found another the day after . the place is just as good friendly service and superb food hope they will be able to open in england do we can go again . wouldn't want to wait until we are back in texas to try again

kid friendly spot and very affordable prices. i was more impressed with the sides but the chicken was good. i would recommend the mashed potatoes and the green beans but not the salad cause think about it who goes to a fried chicken spot for salad. skip that and you will be fine.

this place has amazing chicken and some of the best creamed corn i have ever had, try this place, it is outstanding. this place has also great mashed potatoes.

i've tried. really, i have! i see the huge lines to get into babe's. i listen to the religious zealots that worship this place. i've tried to discover some secret about babe's that everyone else knows but i cannot discern. i've tried to like the food in spite of it tasting a bit overdone and loaded with enough salt to cause an instant cardiac arrest.

i've stopped trying.

my husband and i are in the area for the week, and we had been looking forward to a hearty dinner at babe's, after seeing it featured on television.

we had a half hour wait to be seated, in the outdoor gathering area, so plan your attire according to the weather forecast. those thirty minutes gave us time to take photos of our kiddos with interesting backgrounds and check out the antique farm equipment and fire truck.

once seated, our waitress didn't want to let us see a menu. she told us what was available and rushed us to order. heads up: there is no coca-cola or pepsi here, but you will find rc cola. we're from south ms and didn't find the sweet tea quite sweet enough.

our teenager opted for the three fried chicken fingers and ice water, while our nine year old chose the country fried steak and a lemonade. neither one of them took more than a few bites of food, stating that is was just ok.

my hubby picked the fried chicken dinner plate. it was entirely too salty, and he wasn't able to finish his meal.

i chose the country fried steak, and it was a huge portion. it did taste good to me, but i was also ravenous from traveling.

the sides included a salad, which is literally nothing more than a bowl of lettuce with vinaigrette. they do not offer any other toppings or dressings.

the other sides included: corn, which was sweet; the greenbeans, well seasoned with bacon grease; and the mashed potatoes, with white gravy, which were ok.

overall, we were let down. we're glad we visited, but we won't return.
