babe's chicken dinner house

first night in dallas and was in the mood for fried chicken. our son took us to babes and did we ever get fried chicken! all you can eat and family style. and ever so melt in your mouth biscuits!gooddeal andgoodservice!

stopped at the garland babe's and was so impressed we found another the day after . the place is just asgoodfriendly service and superb food hope they will be able to open in england do we can go again . wouldn't want to wait until we are back in texas to try again

my husband and i are in the area for the week, and we had been looking forward to a hearty dinner at babe's, after seeing it featured on television.

we had a half hour wait to be seated, in the outdoor gathering area, so plan your attire according to the weather forecast. those thirty minutes gave us time to take photos of our kiddos with interesting backgrounds and check out the antique farm equipment and fire truck.

once seated, our waitress didn't want to let us see a menu. she told us what was available and rushed us to order. heads up: there is no coca-cola or pepsi here, but you will find rc cola. we're from south ms and didn't find the sweet tea quite sweet enough.

our teenager opted for the three fried chicken fingers and ice water, while our nine year old chose the country fried steak and a lemonade. neither one of them took more than a few bites of food, stating that is was just ok.

my hubby picked the fried chicken dinner plate. it was entirely too salty, and he wasn't able to finish his meal.

i chose the country fried steak, and it was a huge portion. it did tastegoodto me, but i was also ravenous from traveling.

the sides included a salad, which is literally nothing more than a bowl of lettuce with vinaigrette. they do not offer any other toppings or dressings.

the other sides included: corn, which was sweet; the greenbeans, well seasoned with bacon grease; and the mashed potatoes, with white gravy, which were ok.

overall, we were let down. we're glad we visited, but we won't return.

we loved to occasionally pick up babe's when we lived in dallas, been to the carrolton and the garland locations, take out only never eating in. great fried chicken and an order comes with all the sides. chicken is great, chicken tendersgoodas well, fried catfish good, pot roast good, but the fried chicken dinner is the main thing. the sides are good, but not necessarily wowing, salad is simple but fine, iceberg salad with a vinaigrette, mashed potatoes good, green been a ok, corn ok, biscuits tasty, gravy good. at carry out they will give you honey, hot sauce, and real butter, definitely get them, hot sauce and some honey with the chicken, and honey and butter for the biscuits are great. i was in dallas for work a few months back and made sure to grab a chicken dinner while there.

we love babe's food, and since we've tried their smoked chicken, catfish and green beans, we've begun venturing out even though roanoke is closest to us. we really enjoyed everything at the carrollton location. all the great flavors that babe's is famous for, interesting décor andgoodservice. carrollton is a likely destination when we're craving babe's or entertaining out-of-town guests.

mediocre and too expensive for what it is. their food is mediocre and not asgoodas other places in town. also, too expensive for what it is!

quantity over quality. if you want a big meal of comfort food and don't care that it's not prepared fromgoodfresh ingredients, this is the restaurant for you. instant mashed potatoes, canned veggies and an overdressed, over-sweet iceberg salad. the meat selections are fair but there are other places to getgoodfried chicken or chicken fried steak where the rest of the meal is of much better quality. this is just more food than a person should eat at one sitting and not really great food either.

you basically have the option of fried chicken, chicken fried steak, chicken fingers, fried catfish, or smoked chicken. everyone at the table shares sides: green beans, creamed corn, mashed potatoes, and biscuits. you also get salad at the start of the meal. however, the salad is pretty much iceberg lettuce with a heavy dose of suggary dressing. i'm not a fan of creamed corn in general, but all of the rest of the food was amazing. i think i had three helpings of mashed potatoes. they aren't quite asgoodas the potatoes at celebration, but they are tasty.

wish they would go non-gmo. it'sgoodbut wish you would be more farm to table and buy more local produce.

the food is good, but not spectacularly better than any othergoodhome style restaurant. the worst thing is the very, very, very long wait that is outside. definitely not worth it in the summer.

outstanding. this place rocks. it is bring your own bottle if you choose. the food is top
shelf. chicken is the best.

here are a couple of tips:
they serve rc cola, you are welcome to bring cokes or beer to drink,
i see people bring ice chests.

if you want salad dressing other than their house oil dressing bring it, we bring ranch.

ask for amarillo dipping sauce with your chicken it is awesome and free, it is not on the menu, you have to asks!

this place is worth the wait , and you never know who you might meet in line,
but be sure you will leave full!

deserts, you will not have any room for them but they are asgoodas the meal, bananna pudding- awesome, fried peach pie with ice cream- do not get me going.

delicious. i'm pretty sure every plate is exactly 14.95. me and some friends went and all got different meals, each of us paid 14.95. the food was delicious. i got smoked chicken which was very moist and flavorful. all of the sides weregoodtoo.

babes is reallygoodi would recomend getting the chicken strips. you get an unlimited amount of food when you go there

what a bunch of frisco dbag whiners! the cool normal folks of frisco love this place. the loser transplants from nj and ohio hate it but who cares what they think? this place has great bird, ok? for someone who overpaid by a half million for a starwood hut to complain aboot price? hahaha! vegas
