repeat customer. been to the carrollton location of babe's several times. first time i went i wanted to get some salad, and was thinking to ask for honey mustard dressing. the person who took me to babe's told me i didn't need to mention dressing.

when the family-style served salad arrived i found out why. babe's has only one dressing...and you can't really see it (it's transparent in color). i'll say this about the dressing--it's unique. it's decent, just wish there were dressing options.

have had the grilled chicken with customary sides: green beans, mashed potatoes, etc.

in my opinion, the signature item at babe's is the corn. it's the best i've ever had in a restaurant.

the service overall is good. babe's is well-staffed. doesn't translate into stellar/amazing service necessarily, but the service has never reached complain-to-mgr level.

as with most places, every once in awhile a waiter will be putting more attn to a table other than yours (and not close by), or not stop by, or be in the kitchen too long, etc. this happened in babe's on one of the visits, but that's balanced by the fact that the time between order and service goes quickly.

babe's has good food, and is one of the few places that serve family-style. it's also ayce. as long as your table wants them to keep bringing you more of any item, they'll bring it.

overall, babe's is good stuff. don't come here super often but it's good.

great family style meal! best made-from-scratch biscuits i've ever had. the creamed corn was also very good, and the pot roast was cooked perfectly.

to grandmothers house we go. i love babe's in burleson, tx, the food is great, the ambiance is great. the place is like eating at your grandmothers for sunday dinner, great chicken, mounds of mashed potatoes, gravy, green beans, corn....huge biscuits and all the extra's with sweet iced tea....yum...

good place. i think my favorite things here are the creamed corn, biscuits with honey, and banana pudding. didn't really care for the green beans. the smoked chicken was pretty good, have yet to try the fried.

always great. babes can be a little different from location to location. one time i went to the one in burleson and it was the worst experience i ever had at babes chicken and ive been going there since they opened in roanoke in 1993.
but then again, it was still far and away better than any other home style restaurant in dfw. even at its worse its still the best.
mind blowing biscuits with sorghum and butter, real corn, mashed potatoes and real gravy, a pile of crunchy hot smoking chicken. my gosh i wished i had some now.
i was waiting for the bathroom at the roanake location when who came out? pat summerall! i got to use the bathroom after pat sumerall! wow. oh, and i seen doug melvin there also (rangers manager from a few years back).
the salad still and will always suck and is one of the great mysteries of a human history.

great fried chicken. nothing i can say that hasn't already been better articulated here. the fried chicken is awesome, the cream corn is excellent, the biscuits are heavy and tasty. the green salad is nothing to write home about. the service is good. the atmosphere is loud and at times annoying (the chicken dance-seriously? it isn't for me, but i get it. great to entertain the children and simpletons). who goes to babes for the ambiance? the draw is the food, and babe's delivers on that front. if you don't go, you are only hurting yourself with that kind of behavior. the only fried chicken that i have had that best's babe's is swett's in memphis.

it's all been said, this place is awesome. i can add one thing: carry out. they do it perfectly. i was under the weather but craving chicken so the husband dropped by babes. we were amazed at how expertly everything was packaged. this place can do no wrong!

just okay. i had a craving for fried chicken and babe's was recommended to me. it cured my craving but also gave me a tummy ache. i think for folks who are used to eating friend food, it's a keeper. for me, i have to be willing to deal with the consequences. it gets one thumb up!

worth driving to. we don't live close to babe's but regularly drive out there when someone is in need of comfort food. many have complained about the veggies, salad, potatoes, and lack of a menu....but i suspect they might 1)not be southerners or 2) not be used to homestyle food. i don't cook much and babe's is the only place in dfw that reminds me of the excellent southern food i grew up on. another positive is that all your veggies and potatoes and salad are bottomless. yes the salad is just lettuce with dressing but it is the simplicity that i love. chicken fried steak is always excellent, prices are very reasonable and you will never leave hungry. ps they also have very good pie.

sop it up. babe's has very good fried chicken. it may be the best i've had in texas (i'm from the southeast so there's a lot more competition back there). the biscuits were wonderful! felt like momma's cookin'. the creamed corn was like grandma's. but stay away from the gravy - not sure who made it, not sure i want to know.
