asami's asian cuisine

oms where would you get better sushi than this???!!! awesome awesomeplaceit was packe, the prices aren't even expensive. the waiter that served us was very friendly and helpful you go guy thank you, would not have sushi anywhere else in and around somerset again except @ asami's keep it up guys you were great. :-) definitily a 5(*) in my book on the sushi.

tldr: great sushi, fast & friendly service, competitive pricing.

bad stuff first, we wanted to do the sushi buffet, which can be done by simply "ordering" it, but it is notably cheaper when buying it online, which you can do ahead of time. i'd recommend doing it ahead of time as the signal in there is not great.

quality of the sushi is great, whether part of the buffet or not. they have interesting varieties and hot options, which were great!

their pricing is very competitive, and the "3 platters for the price of 2" is unbeatable value!

super happy trying thisplaceout, despite the clearly outdated bad reviews on google maps and zomato.

i'm sad that i had to reduce my rating from 5 stars to 3 based on my last experience there 2 weeks ago on 3 february. our usual excellent waiter was there, he's always great! but there was 1 chef on the belt in stead of 3. the sashimi was half the portion it usually was, the other assorted items on the conveyor was either cooked food, or had half the usual amount of fish in.

i have been going to asami's somerset mall for many years now, but it seems a new manager / owner is there that is out to cut costs rather than keep customers, and at the expense of the quality of food. 

as a regular, we noticed the difference immediately, we are vip card holders, our waiter knows our orders by heart. we go a couple of times a month, if not every weekend, so this is truly heart breaking for me to say. 

i will have to find another sushiplacein my area to support. :(

meg cooper for an all you can eat venue, asamis is the bestplacein town (somerset west). just concerned about the constant price hikes? feels like it's jumped 3 times in less than a year... but service and sushi is good.

was in somerset west after hitting the elgin area and wanted a spot of sushi. i whip out the zomato and locate asami's in sonerset west. it's a bit of a mission to locate as i thought it was in the main mall but across the road in the value mart.

all you can eat can be a bit suspect. you ask yourself, how long has the food been there and if it was fresh. i can assure you that the food the fresh as it gets and regularly gets taken, switched out and eaten by the patrons around the conveyer belt bar.

if you don't eat a lot then order a couple of plates. if you are sure, eat away and let them tally the plates at the end.

goodplaceto just chill, eat some sushi and relax.

bestplaceto eat sushi - their sushi belt is always full and the staff are good with their service. i would recommend calling and booking if you want to go there after 6pm! they are extremely busy. also, you can't buy alcohol there but take your own wine along! they charge no corkage!
