asami's asian cuisine

it is located at the value mart area outside the somerset mall, away from the busy food court.

loads of different options from cooked dishes to a variety of sushi options from the conveyor belt. the sushi is well priced and fresh and it awakens your tastebuds with great flavours and textures.

not sure if a all-you-can-eat sushi is good value for money for an average eater, but if you are a big eater and love sushi then this is the best option.

definitely worth a visit when you are in the area.

oms where would you get better sushi than this???!!! awesome awesome place it was packe, the prices aren't even expensive. the waiter that served us was very friendly and helpful you go guy thank you, would not have sushi anywhere else in and around somerset again except @ asami's keep it up guys you were great. :-) definitily a 5(*) in my book on the sushi.

food: so well priced, i go there about 3 times a week. best sushi i have tasted, and their pad thai is such a winner!

bad stuff first, we wanted to do the sushi buffet, which can be done by simply "ordering" it, but it is notably cheaper when buying it online, which you can do ahead of time. i'd recommend doing it ahead of time as the signal in there is not great.

quality of the sushi is great, whether part of the buffet or not. they have interesting varieties and hot options, which were great!

their pricing is very competitive, and the "3 platters for the price of 2" is unbeatable value!

super happy trying this place out, despite the clearly outdated bad reviews on google maps and zomato.

after receiving a poor experience the first time, we decided to return and give it another shot. we were even more disappointed the second time, not only with the food, but with the service. upon arriving to collect our order, we were told our order was not sent through to the kitchen and were asked to wait another 45 minutes.

this is not good sushi. ordered via mr delivery and the order took over 2 hours to arrive. when it finally arrived, it was a bunch of sad sushi with cold deep fried accompaniments that were not very tasty either.

this was the second asami branch i’ve tried and both were not the greatest. i’ll definitely not be back!

i wasn’t really impressed with the service. ordered take away, and even though i was late picking up, it wasn’t ready yet. finally got my order, drove back home, just to find out my order was wrong.

great friendly service food excellent all round a excellent experience. staff adds to a great eating experience well dine yo every one working here.

great sushi and good variety around the belt! the all you can eat option is a bargain, take it you can have anything on the belt as well as order off the menu if not available. sushi is fresh and very tasty. service was very friendly and quick, thanks

i'm sad that i had to reduce my rating from 5 stars to 3 based on my last experience there 2 weeks ago on 3 february. our usual excellent waiter was there, he's always great! but there was 1 chef on the belt in stead of 3. the sashimi was half the portion it usually was, the other assorted items on the conveyor was either cooked food, or had half the usual amount of fish in.

i have been going to asami's somerset mall for many years now, but it seems a new manager / owner is there that is out to cut costs rather than keep customers, and at the expense of the quality of food. 

as a regular, we noticed the difference immediately, we are vip card holders, our waiter knows our orders by heart. we go a couple of times a month, if not every weekend, so this is truly heart breaking for me to say. 

i will have to find another sushi place in my area to support. :(

good service and very good shishi. i was not a big fan of shushi until i enjoyed there all you can eet. very good deal to take r 159 if you do enjoy shushi.

i'm not a huge fan of asian cuisine but asami's is the occasional acception. with good deals on sushi, not that i eat it, and great deserts it's all round pretty good. it's known around town to have the best sushi.
you should probably visit it. even if you dislike sushi, they have a meal for everyone in the family.

we absolutely love eating here! the food is always super yummy and the staff friendly and on top form. we might only eat here once a month but we are always treated so well and one of the chefs always makes our favourites.

meg cooper for an all you can eat venue, asamis is the best place in town (somerset west). just concerned about the constant price hikes? feels like it's jumped 3 times in less than a year... but service and sushi is good.

i love sushi. it's literally one of my favourite foods.
we decided to get a takeaway on friday night as the restaurant was utterly packed. the line was literally out the door and down the road.
so i had high expectations
however was pretty disappointed with the sushi in general. it wasn't really fresh which was strange as you'd imagine it would be made to order. i have a feeling they make it early in the day to prep for the busy evening for the most part.
it was certainly edible and not bad value, i think people mostly like the all you eat offer so maybe quality isn't an issue when you are eating in bulk.
wouldn't be in a rush to go back
