just another typical melbourne place - taking you for a fool. massive disappointment. just another typical melbourne place with melbourne attitude and unfounded angriness and attitude from the staff. when i say typical, i mean it promises a lot, it looks good, but when it comes to the food, just keep going along and you will find something better just about anywhere. small portions, nothing flash, no taste in anything, but by god they’re quick to punch your order into the cash register. the girl serving us looked like she was working at gitmo prison camp such was her attitude and inability to even crack one smile (we tried on numerous occasions). the tall, skinny, metro, uni-student-looking guy pretending to know about the wine list knew as much about wines as he probably did about the arts degree he was studying...very little. i think he was angry with the world as well. as i said earlier, just another typical melbourne place that is taking the customers for fools. oh and if you’re looking for a place with atmosphere, forget about this place because all you will find there are people who are more interested about being tucked up in bed with a tea whilst reading their book on contemporary melbourne architecture than going to a cool place to have a good time and eat good food. peace out.

undecided. im still in two minds about anada, the food was nice but not sure if its worth the money. i felt like i needed to eat three of everything to feel like iv eaten enough. and yes i understand how the tapas style of food works. but i guess the real down side is the service, they no what they are talking about but they just have a bad attitude about it couldnt help but feel like they were talking down to us

this used to be a great place but since changing chefs the quality of food has dropped significantly. front of house is also now unprofessional. such a shame used to be 5 stars. wouldnt reccomend.

fabulous tapas bar in the heart of fitzroy, with a lovely dimly lit ambiance.  highly recommend the saltbush lamb, potatas bravas, chorizo and croquettes. great wine selection, friendly and attentive service. will be returning!

not up to scratch. went for dinner on a monday night, restaurant was rather full. service staff was fantastic although both of them run off their feet . our food when it arrived was tasty but seriously not enough of it , one main arrived before the entree , the entrees arrived all over the place . we had to wait quite a while for the entrees and the mains arrived quite scattered. my husband ordered pork belly which was yum but he ordered it as a main and all he received was one small piece of pork belly on a plate !! nothing else !! to be fair they did not charge us for the two entrees and potatoes that we ordered but never arrived but seriously melbourne has many fantastic restaurants with great food . they really need major organization in the kitchen !!! the food was good , service was great in fact the waiter kept apologizing but it wasn't his fault the kitchen was woeful!! mixing up entrees, missing dishes and no where near enough food !!! mains were seriously entree size in other restaurants !! we will not be returning !

anada lovely restaurant!. have eaten here twice, once with my parents and brother, another on a very lovely date. both experiences great, dishes on the most part delicious but small and pricey, so expect to part with at least $50 to be moderately full - eep. the place has a quaint atmosphere typical of the getrude street area. i have since found out that anada and the aylesbury (cbd) have the same owner, and can see why, as both restaurants have the x-factor.

diisappointing.... i ate at this restaurant last night - whilst all the food was quite nice - it lacked wow factor. there was no outstanding dish, no outstanding flavours....

all three self-confessed foodies agreed on the night - it all sounded tempting and was adequate (though the rump was tough) without being delicious, it was nothing memorable and we won't be going back.

i expect more from a restaurant that has scored 14.5 in the age good food guide.

sampled on the night:

entrees:
local olives manzanilla, bella di cerignola, ligurian & nocellara
white anchovy & piquillo pepper on toast
salmon bolas, lemon alioli
charred eggplant with yoghurt & pommegranate
piquillo pepper tortilla
sobrasada bomba

mains:
prawn & calamari fideos
chermoula chicken with bulgar & sumac
chargrilled rump cap with wild mushrooms
nicola potatoes with romesco
beetroot with smoked ajo blanco

dessert:
pomegranate & orange blossom sorbet with sugared pistachios
pedro ximenez & muscatel ice cream
poached quince, honey labneh, hazlenuts

great (but a bit slow) service. but. we had to have the chefs menu as there were eight of us and for $65 we got per person:- 1 oyster. 1 scallop. 2 slices of jamon . a small amount of bread. a shot glass of soup. 1 lamb cutlet. a small piece of chicken. and a few chickpeas. all of which was nice enough but not amazing.

we even asked for patatas bravas to help fill us up. no auch luck...

dessert was not included and we were pretty hungry at then end of the meal , so paid extra for dessert

i used to love anada and my disappointment was huge.

( our vegetarian friend started off with one pepper. small, and unstuffed. just one pepper on a plate (what the?)

anada. lift your game.

amazing experience. i honestly enjoyed every dish to it. the tapas was amazing and it was affordable too, you could taste a bit of everything when you go for that option instead. 1. oysters, were very yummy, had a spicy kick to it. probs from tobasco? 2. croquettes, cheesy but with a sweet after taste. crispy on the outside. 3. the chorizo.. house made and it had the perfect spices! really went well with the aioli, not even the spanish grocery store can compare to this. 4. the scallops were very nice! it smelt like a stir fried asian dish, perhaps from the excessive amount of shallots and garlic. it was very aromatic. 5. the crab with sweet corn soup (i enjoyed this a lot), it was sweet and creamy with nice shredded crab. very popular, i enjoyed it. $25 for the dessert plate, i liked it! and the paella was cooked nicely. the food was wonderful.. i mean i do remember how it tastes like, so definitely made a mark in my heart

5 star service, 5 star desserts, 5 star wines!
we're so glad we stumbled into this adorable place around 11pm on saturday. the kitchen was closed, but they let us order the magical dessert platter and cheeses and didn't rush us out of there even though we were the last table left. if you're like me and don't want to drink alcohol, pick the pomegranate soda! beautifully sweet and refreshing - bonus points for being an instagrammable colour. each item on the dessert platter was so enjoyable and for $25 it's absolutely worth sharing with a friend because you get five different desserts on there! i'll be back to try food... and another go at the dessert platter (it's so good)!
