almost famous burgers

decent dinner

visited with a friend fairly early on a friday evening, place was fairly busy but got a table no problem. enjoyed the unfairground burger and the bacon baconfrieswhich i remembered having a few years ago at their great northern site.

service was fine, food did take a while to come out but we weren't in a rush, so no issue. overall, enjoyed my visit and would happily go back

almost definitely the best burger i've ever had. it's not the cheapest burger you'll find on the streets, and you have to time it well (i.e., come between 8:00-9:00, and expect to be told to come back in 30 mins, but don't worry; they have a good texting notification system to let you know a table's ready). i don't think bookings are available, but once you're in the door, it's got some great drinks, shakes, beers... thefriesare amazing, and a great choice of toppings, and the burgers are to die for. will definitely be back soon!

i’m not a fan of manchester burger juggernauts almost famous. we visited last march and found the burgers over cooked, thefriessoggy, and the rhetoric annoying. i’ve been told by numerous people since that it’s improved which i’m sure it has, however i just can’t get over being told by the bartender that ‘all bloggers are arseholes.’ this scathing comment took me back to being 17 years old when i was told by a random girl that i ‘looked like a bitch’. my response to both comments was the same, ‘oh’. with it being newly open, i didn’t want to write a bad blog post (the bartender may take this as proof, that i too am an arsehole), so i just kept schtum and didn’t go back. i know i’m in the minority. it seems most of manchester is obsessed with those sweary, shouty chaps and the only time there is no queue outside is when it is closed. recently, i heard news that made me consider a truce. almost famous were openin

if you don't go here expecting fine dining you are in for a great night. the place is cool and has a great atmosphere, lovely environment to eat in. not to mention the burger, the best burger i've ever had and i've eaten burgers costing more than double the price of these extremely reasonable burgers (£6/£7) each for excellently sized burgers. also theirfriesare great, had the bacon bacon and the plain fries, nice to get some sweet potatofriesin there. will be back, how soon is the only question.

immature rubbish !!! avoid. if you need a better explanation of why almost famous is sh*t and is trying too hard then
look no further than the beautiul and classy way they present you with a nice glass of wine
to start your evening ......... in a effin jam jar ..... arghghg !!!! ... you pretentious little swines.
now that's out of the way lets get onto the food........ drum roll , its awful ., probably made by the
same stand off too cool for school/ underpants showing student gimp as serving drinks behind the bar.
the burger . wafer thin patty, burned , greesy sloppy uncared for garbage.... more sweaty onions than a frenchmans armpit. awful.
we had some laughablefriesto go along with it that to say were overseasoned is being really kind to my
studenty chums at almost famous .... these things are inedible. its like taking your entire spice rack and
systematically snorting the lot in one fell swoop .
we found our own way out of the building as quickly as possible ......... you young upstarts take my advice . stick to daft punk/ house parties and swearing at each other maaaaannnn !! .... great food isnt your forte .

ps... noone appreciates swearing on a menu in any way shape or form , even your contemporaries [if they werent too cool to admit it]

but it’s a brilliant place to while an hour or two away, original or not.

special mention to the bacon baconfries– which are great chips, dripping in velveeta and bacon bits. salty, delicious, amazing, £4. get them if you ever come. burgers about £7.
