almost famous burgers

a very good spot, theburgersare good as expected. they make sure it is indeed a medium rare patty when you ask for the medium rare, unlike other burger places i’ve been to. service is quick. recommended!

almost definitely the best burger i've ever had. it's not the cheapest burger you'll find on the streets, and you have to time it well (i.e., come between 8:00-9:00, and expect to be told to come back in 30 mins, but don't worry; they have a good texting notification system to let you know a table's ready). i don't think bookings are available, but once you're in the door, it's got some great drinks, shakes, beers... the fries are amazing, and a great choice of toppings, and theburgersare to die for. will definitely be back soon!

my ‘hong kong philly’ was just stunning; quality meat topped with cheese, teriyaki cheese steak, jalapeños, grilled onions, bbq fried onions, lemon herb mayo & my favourite ever condiment, sriracha. i’ve eaten a hell of a lot ofburgersin the last two years but this is right up there with the best of them.

i’m not a fan of manchester burger juggernauts almost famous. we visited last march and found theburgersover cooked, the fries soggy, and the rhetoric annoying. i’ve been told by numerous people since that it’s improved which i’m sure it has, however i just can’t get over being told by the bartender that ‘all bloggers are arseholes.’ this scathing comment took me back to being 17 years old when i was told by a random girl that i ‘looked like a bitch’. my response to both comments was the same, ‘oh’. with it being newly open, i didn’t want to write a bad blog post (the bartender may take this as proof, that i too am an arsehole), so i just kept schtum and didn’t go back. i know i’m in the minority. it seems most of manchester is obsessed with those sweary, shouty chaps and the only time there is no queue outside is when it is closed. recently, i heard news that made me consider a truce. almost famous were openin

i absolutely love almost famous, it’s the epitome of indie chic, theburgersare amazingly good and the service is efficient. yes, it slightly more refined than the old almost famous but that’s not really a bad thing. and at £15 per head, i left with my wallet as full as my stomach. almost famous somehow manages to live up to all the hype and that’s why i call this restaurant a manchester institution.

i really, really, really don’t like the vibe i get from almost famous. don’t get me wrong guys – yourburgersare nice; not something i’d eat every day (it wouldn’t exactly be positive on the waistline) but… they’re good. i’ve been twice, both with friends, but i would not go back a third time – and that’s the lucky one, right? apparently the ‘ staff couldn’t be lovelier ‘, but how this impression has been gauged by other reviewers i fail to understand as

absolutely gorgeousburgerscooked to perfection with great combination of toppings. absolutely love it and found it by chance walking by (got hooked by the smell) and just had to give it a go. never looked back since.

greatburgersand chips !. went here recently with friends and each one of us loved theburgersand the chips too. so if you want a good burger in manchester , this is the place to be. and i've eatenburgersaround the world and i still think this one is right up there, contrary to what others have said. they do take their time in getting the order but the wait is worth it. on a sunday we had to queue up a short time but didn't mind that. i thought the staff were courteous too. only negative is the cocktails which weren't at all good, we tried different ones too..the serving in bottles concept was a nice touch though. it's a good atmosphere to relax in and informal environment. and if itsburgersyou are after , get there !

if you don't go here expecting fine dining you are in for a great night. the place is cool and has a great atmosphere, lovely environment to eat in. not to mention the burger, the best burger i've ever had and i've eatenburgerscosting more than double the price of these extremely reasonableburgers(£6/£7) each for excellently sized burgers. also their fries are great, had the bacon bacon and the plain fries, nice to get some sweet potato fries in there. will be back, how soon is the only question.

but it’s a brilliant place to while an hour or two away, original or not.

special mention to the bacon bacon fries – which are great chips, dripping in velveeta and bacon bits. salty, delicious, amazing, £4. get them if you ever come.burgersabout £7.
