such a nice quiet place to go for a few drinks and appetizers on the backside oftybeeisland. the waterfront atmosphere is relaxing and the staff is very friendly. nice place to enjoy yourself and have the option to rent kayaks or water boards! only complaint is that the parking can be a little inconvenient at times.

*** will never go back to aj's. we love the island but not aj's!

we had a super nice waitress....so we thought... we did not tip the full 15% but close to it. and there was only 2 of us and our waitress did not even bring our food out. well then she chased us to the door to tell us we did not tip enough. let me add that the crab legs i had were over cooked. stingrays crab legs are the best on the island. it was our first visit totybeeand we will never go back due to the unprofessionalism of the waitress.

so much better than the others. head and shoulders above the other, fairly widely-hypedtybeerestaurants. our starter course featured big, fresh sweet shrimp blackened and served over creamy grits. corvina with cream sauce was extremely fresh and cooked to flaky perfection. fried flounder and shrimp were exemplary. friendly service and beautiful sunset view from the dock. after having tried two other widely advertised local restaurants, i would not hesitate to recommend that vacationers spend every evening at a-j's instead of wasting money and experiencing disappointment elsewhere.

by far the worst service we’ve had on our visit totybeeisland!!! we took a seat inside to avoid the wait and waited for our waitress for drinks and refills all night! thankfully our food was brought out by someone else and we got the opportunity to ask them to get her for us or we may have never seen her!!! i’m giving 1 star because that’s the lowest i can give. to be completely fair the food was good not great but we had to choke half of it down without a drink so it was very hard to enjoy!

generally good. aj's, like so many other places ontybeevaries a lot depending on the crowds. when they aren't overly busy, the food is great, particularly their fried seafood served with mashed potatoes and asparagus (or whatever the veggie is for the day). it's a great sunset spot that we come back to on most trips to tybee.

it was......ok..... i go totybeeisland for 2 reasons: the beach & the food!! a savannah resident raved about this place, said i had to go. first of all this place is a pain in the butt to find!! but it had a nice, typicaltybeeisland atmosphere. i ordered the shrimp and grits. don't get me wrong, it was good! i loved the shrimp and i loved the grits! i'm just not sure they worked together, there seemed to be a disconnect, like they belonged in other dishes, but it really was very, very good!! (despite getting only 6 shrimp!!) maybe i'm used to my shrimp & grits in a bowl to fill me up - i ordered fries 'cause i was still hungery! or maybe the taste and presentation seemed more suited for a hotel restaurant, i dunno. i will encourage you to try it for yourself!! go!

bad food....bad visit. my family was in town for a vacation weekend and stayed out ontybeeisland. thinking we would get local seafood and a great island atmosphere we tried this restaurant. we were very dissapointed. the food tasted old, the owner was yelling at a server in the dining room and when we complained the owner could not have been ruder. i urge all visitors not to go there.

amazing view and great soup. aj's dockside was a great little place located ontybeeisland right outside of savannah. the restaurant is located on the dock of a canal amongst residential homes (when we arrived we almost thought we were in the wrong place until we saw the restaurant sign). patrons can eat inside or out on the dock overlooking the canal and the great view. the crab stew was amazing. i've never had soup with such big fresh chunks before. its a must have if you go here. my husband and a burger and i had a chicken sandwich, both were great!!

the views are great. but i think people ontybeeare just too seperated from reality because it's fried food with an occasionally overcooked and tough piece of mahi mahi. this is not fine dining. beers on the dock and an app or two to share are totally worthwhile. calling it fine dining is an insult to those who actually attempt originality and freshness in their cuisine.

one of the few savannah area restaurants to face west so great sunsets overtybeecreek and littletybeeisland. typical seafood fare. very busy fri & sat evening, so expect a 60 - 90 minute wait.

sunsets. in a word, sunset is the word that describes aj's the best. the dock overlookstybeecreek and offeres stunning sunsets nightly.
the food is wonderful- mostly seafood, and burgers for the kiddos. it is priced moderately.
boaters can pull up to the dock.

one of my top 10 resturants.
