my dinner visit did not include a buffet option which i have read is quite good. the dinner options of vegetable korma and lamb curry came with raita, dal, curried cabbage and nan. i substituted the nan for onion kulcha which was exceptionally good. the cabbage and the korma were also very tasty. our server was gracious and attentive. the restaurant seemed to be doing agoodtake out business.

yum. we had been here years ago and just stopped going for some reason. went back tonight and were very pleasantly surprised. lots of food for a verygoodprice. papadam for the table app, with the three sauces. they were good. masala dosa was well done with a nice crispy crust but still soft in the middle. nice spice on the potato filling, with just a hint of heat. we had chicken-tika-masala, navaratan korma, and lamb pasanda. all were excellent. i really enjoyed the korma, with huge chunks of the veggies with that wonderful smooth korma sauce. lamb was super tender and nicely done. very sorry we have not stopped in lately, we will be back.

good lunch buffet. i brought a group of co-workers to lunch here to try out the buffet. it was verygoodalthough a bit heavy on the vegetarian plates. but it's agoodmix and i highly recommend for a quick lunch. i prefer my indian food very spicy so a little disappointed in the 'heat'. but several co-workers had never eaten at an indian restaurant and they thought the food was perfect - so probably great for the average diner. i've heardgoodthings about dinner here so i'll try that next. the high rating on urbanspoon is justified. try it, you'll be happy you did.

always have enjoyed the food. if you like buffets their lunch buffet isgoodand reasonably priced. if buffets aren't your thing go for dinner; the food is delicious. service can be a little cold but food makes up for it.

nice buffet selection. i can't say we had ever left the state just to eat a meal, but abhiruchi's great reviews led us to “the couv” to sample their lunch buffet (fri 8/3). the place is just off mill plain road and i-205 in a building that formerly housed a thai restaurant. abhiruchi features both northern and southern indian cuisine, meaning they have quite a large menu. the lunch buffet contained a nice selection of maybe 18 dishes plus the salad area. the space is clean and the indian couple who run it were accomodating and friendly. the foods were all at appropriate temperatures. i made the rounds and tried most everything, including agoodhelping of one of my indian favorites, chicken makhani. other standbys included a vegetable saag, vegi pakora, chana masala, and some nan that was nicely done (not burnt). they had a number of items i hadn't tried before, including a goat curry (tasty, but watch for bones), rasam (a spicy tamarind soup – it seemed a bit greasy and didn't do much for me in terms of flavor), a stir-fried green pepper dish (excellent) and gulab jamun (a really flavorful and rich dessert with the consistency of spongy dough, soaked in syrup). their kheer (rice pudding) is served warm. i also thought their mint chutney, which i really enjoy dipping the nan in, was the best i'd ever had. they also had a flavorful hot pickle mix that wasgoodwith the nan or added to rice as well. this was a nice change of pace and while i'm not sure a 90 minute drive (each way) and battling i-205 traffic on a friday makes a lot of sense, we were happy to have tried abhiruchi.

i just read the review by jay on the service. i agree that the decor is bland but my experience is that that service has bee top notch. my husband and i have eaten there about 6 times, 3 each buffet lunch and the evening. the service has always been attentive and friendly. i would give it about 8 out of 10 forgoodservice compared with other restaraunts in general. for us, this is one of the 5 best indian restaurants in the portland metro area. i am speaking only of this restaurant's vancouver site having never eaten at their beaverton facility.

superb indian cusine. very flavorful. one of 4or5 really excellent indian restraunts in the portland/vancouver area. rivals what you might experience in chicago (my gold standard). nice setting and friendly, efficient staff. both the day hrs buffet and evening hrs menu are top notch. won't disappoint.

agoodbuffet. i often stop there for lunch while on the road. the buffet has agoodselection of well made dishes. i've had a lot ofgoodindian food in canada and some not sogoodhere. the pakora isn't great but the dishes have agoodmix of spice and sauces. it is one of the better indian restaurants, especially for a quick lunch that isn't very pricey. it also has a nice atmosphere. i'd like to try it for dinner but i'm way over on the east side of town.

great buffet. kinda divey!. so the buffet is one of the best on the west side as far as indian food goes. they havegoodbutter chicken, tandoori chicken, saag paneer, naan, and pakoras. i do wish they would rotate some of the selection of the buffet so that there were new options to try. they are friendly even though they dont know what your saying, and they could use some ice in the water they pour at your tables. but itsgoodnone-the-less.

what happened?. my husband and i have been going to abhiruchi for the past 5 years or so... we'd usually go once every month or two for dinner. we always loved it so much, taking about half of our dinners home to enjoy the next night. the naan has always been excellent, as with the rest of the food.
well it seems to have been going down hill for the past year or so, until the last time we went it was unacceptable. my usual saag paneer was salty to the point of being gross.. it also tasted funky. the naan was definitely a day old, hard, and oily.. the side dishes were even a bit off. for the first time in our history of abhiruchi, we didn't bring any leftovers home. it was a sad day.

abhiruchi, have you forsaken me?

strip mall bliss. this is one of the few restaurants my husband and i keep returning to. my favorite thing to get is the mutter paneer dinner.. eat half there, take the rest home for dinner the following night. the naan is really perfect. the taj mahal beer is reallygoodto go along with the food. the chef owns the joint. i love abhiruchi!

i have been there for lunch once, and it is quite a buffet! it's agoodopportunity to try different things. for me, i know what i like, and i like to take something home.. so dinner is a better value.

amazing food especially for a buffet. a client took me here and i was amazed howgoodtheir food is. it was during the lunch hour so expect a crowd. after tasting their food i can see why this place gets so much business. the lunches are a buffet line so expect a slight wait but they always made sure the trays were filled. if you have never had indian food you have to try them!

indian yum-yum. the food at abhiruchi south north indian was very good. in fact i ate too much and i still didn't want to stop. the lamb samosa was very tasty, the nan was warm and fluffy with just the right amount of crispness on the outside, and my chicken tikka masala was the best i've ever tasted. my wife's choice (i can't remember what it was called) was not really my cup of tea, but even at that wasn't bad. the chicken wasgoodand the rice was very spicy, which i liked, but it had several hard spices in it, cardamom seeds being one that i could distinguish.
the restaurant was nice and comfortable with its indian motif and pleasant ambiance. the wait staff was very friendly and attentive. the food was wonderful, arrived quickly and was reasonable priced. and there is a large parking lot. this was a great experience all the way around.
