wonderful lunch buffet. easy to find, and literally right off the highway. friendly owner. great buffet with lots of choices, and they charge $10 no matter what day it is, unlike some places that up the price on weekends. delicious naan, chickenmakhani, eggplant, okra and spinach dishes. i especially loved the carrot dessert. will be back here often.

this is family cookin'.... this is the first time i really felt like i was graciously invited to an indian family's house to eat. not one--repeat--not one bite was off. veg dishes, rice, meats, naan, pakoras, gulab juman dessert, lassi's; all of it was eye-rolling good. the perfect place to have our 9-year old try indian for the first time. and man, did we walk away with plenty of leftovers to enjoy for a late night snack. couple of stand-outs to mention were: the tandoorichickenwas wicked spicy hot (i loved it); the naan for all was very generous; and the chutneys were mild. bent the ear of the owner about how business was, and while we were chatting, several groups of gringos were already being seated for a feast. indian food west of the cascades is fantastic...

delicious dinner. there were 8 of us, and we ordered the full dinner with our entrees. it was a great way to sample several dishes. each of the entrees was delicious. i had the saag paneer, my dinner companions had various lamb andchickendishes, and we all shared. great service, taking our dishes & glasses out of the way and offering refills. they allowed us plenty of time to eat before bringing dessert; it was perfect for our group, but not if you are in a hurry.

nice buffet selection. i can't say we had ever left the state just to eat a meal, but abhiruchi's great reviews led us to “the couv” to sample their lunch buffet (fri 8/3). the place is just off mill plain road and i-205 in a building that formerly housed a thai restaurant. abhiruchi features both northern and southern indian cuisine, meaning they have quite a large menu. the lunch buffet contained a nice selection of maybe 18 dishes plus the salad area. the space is clean and the indian couple who run it were accomodating and friendly. the foods were all at appropriate temperatures. i made the rounds and tried most everything, including a good helping of one of my indian favorites, chickenmakhani. other standbys included a vegetable saag, vegi pakora, chana masala, and some nan that was nicely done (not burnt). they had a number of items i hadn't tried before, including a goat curry (tasty, but watch for bones), rasam (a spicy tamarind soup – it seemed a bit greasy and didn't do much for me in terms of flavor), a stir-fried green pepper dish (excellent) and gulab jamun (a really flavorful and rich dessert with the consistency of spongy dough, soaked in syrup). their kheer (rice pudding) is served warm. i also thought their mint chutney, which i really enjoy dipping the nan in, was the best i'd ever had. they also had a flavorful hot pickle mix that was good with the nan or added to rice as well. this was a nice change of pace and while i'm not sure a 90 minute drive (each way) and battling i-205 traffic on a friday makes a lot of sense, we were happy to have tried abhiruchi.

i enjoy that they offer both northern and southern indian cuisine. i've been here 5 times or so, the service isn't the greatest.... or lack there of i guess. you should ask for a garage of water (unfortunately it will be room temperature and taste of dishwashijg detergent and chlorine, but you'll need it of you order my favorite saag paneer. i've ordered it mild, but regardless they can tolerate some spicenup in here! the flavor is worth it. bestchickentikkamasala i've ever had! i love the thali style dinner, because you get a bit of everything for harpy any more $. the papadom is crispy and light served with great sauces, the naan is always piping hot and fluffy with a bit of crispness on the outside, curries are rich and wonderful, the mango lassi can't be left out(so good!). so if you dot mind waiting for long periods, with lack of bad service for some great authentic food, try it!

dont waste your money. we heard this place opened up in vancouver so we thought we would give it a try. its not a very professional place and the decor is a bit tacky. the naan was sooo thick and chewy and wasn't like the naan im use to. i was so dissapointed. the dishes were bland and not savory like most curries are. we had eggplant and paneer and somechickencurry. was a waste of money and my family and i wont be back. i would have rather spent the same at chutneys and got food that was five times better!

indian yum-yum. the food at abhiruchi south north indian was very good. in fact i ate too much and i still didn't want to stop. the lamb samosa was very tasty, the nan was warm and fluffy with just the right amount of crispness on the outside, and mychickentikka masala was the best i've ever tasted. my wife's choice (i can't remember what it was called) was not really my cup of tea, but even at that wasn't bad. thechickenwas good and the rice was very spicy, which i liked, but it had several hard spices in it, cardamom seeds being one that i could distinguish.
the restaurant was nice and comfortable with its indian motif and pleasant ambiance. the wait staff was very friendly and attentive. the food was wonderful, arrived quickly and was reasonable priced. and there is a large parking lot. this was a great experience all the way around.
