10 williams is a tiny little wine bar tucked away just off of oxford in paddington. we were escorted upstairs, sitting amongst a clash of wine cases that hadn't found storage yet and the chattery paddo socialites. it was a little odd, but their wine list was no joke. pages and pages of variety and price entries that gave us plenty to ponder. after half a bottle pinot and a bowl of olives, we were as chattery as the rest while we anxiously awaited our pasta dishes. the menu is relatively small, but everything is packed full of flavorful ingredients. they've got pastas varieties with meats and fishes so i'll be anxious to come back and try more. their king fish is the most popular entrée. their menu is on a chalk board so i have a feeling it rotates quite often. kingfish with pomegranite pasta ragu de carne tiramisu

the music switches from jazzy to cool, to something else but it’s all laid back and smooth. easy drinking music – how’s that? it suits the atmosphere which is relaxed, the crowd an eclectic mix of 2s, 3s, girl’s nights, after work suits, dates (at least two that i noticed)

cool venue that needs something more. really cool bustling venue, shame that the drinks and the food fell short.
i think if the management gets their act together it could easily be one of the coolest plases in paddo

yes, it's precariously unspacious and, yes, the wine is seldom familiar and always expensive, but all those qualities also go a long way to explaining this place's appeal. what few people mention is just how fun it is. it's full of gorgeous, animated people enjoying delicious food and delicious wine. and the waitstaff are some of the most thoughtful and generous in syd, always happy to pour you numerous samples to taste until you hit on one you like. in my view, it's not just one of the best wine bars in sydney. but one of the best places, period.

we went here on a rainy friday night and decided to go early as we know it gets busy. we were there around 5:30 and were lucky enough to get one of the last tables. sitting on a comfy bench against the wall at a small table, were were pretty squished. the restaurant is extremely small, waiters have to push past each other and likewise you will need to if you go up stairs to the bathroom. it has a huge wine menu and wines by the glass. i got a wine and an aperol spritz which were both good. hubby got a two wines, the second was a bit off, but they said it was funny due to it being organic and fermenting in the bottle. in any case, we sent it back as we felt there was something wrong with it. we still got charged.
food was all excellent and came out very promptly, food service and delivery was excellent in that regards. we had the whipped bottarga dip and pretzel which was extremely fluffy and light. we also tried the mozzarella and cabbage and the ragu pasta. food was all outstanding.
staff were not overly friendly but efficient at their job.

this isn't for you if you enjoy wine.
food was lovely but the wine list beyond average. ordered a "poolside" syrah that tasted like it was watered down with pool water and my husband had a chardonnay from the yarra valley that was so cloudy it resembled an rsl hous wine. the wine list is immature and charging $14 - $16 per glass doesn't fool anyone.
improve your wine selection and we will come back as the service and food were great.

my favourite restaurant in sydney. i’ll be heading over in august this year and i can’t wait to visit again. i’ve been dreaming about the pretzel dish with the whipped bottarga. absolutely divine

cute place but average food and disappointing service. i was there on a quiet tuesday night and my first impression was great and i immediately thought i would return again. however, despite not many people being there, the service was brisk and unfriendly with unhelpful and reluctant answers provided to questions regarding the menu. the food was disappointing, especially considering the price. ontop of this we were charged a 10% surcharge for having 7 people. despite good first impressions, i would not go back and would not recommend it. feels like a place that has taken advantage of being trendy and has forgotten that good food and service is what makes the experience and brings return customers.

wine is stored everywhere in this narrow paddington terrace – on walls, under banquettes, and above on exposed wooden beams. having a 209-strong wine list in a tiny wine bar/restaurant might have disadvantages, but as a leather-apron clad cutie leans over me apologizing because “ the wines are not in any order ”, i’m not feeling them. besides, the chalkboard by-the-glass list is so interesting, you could get drunk before you got bored! forgive me for initially thinking that dan pepperell’s food was simply a platform for allowing wine to shine. by way of explanation: i was knee deep in

been wanting to try 10 william st for a while however it was a disappointment. the food portions were tiny, mains being just 2-3 mouthfuls. i had one of the pasta dishes. i found it to be extremely undercooked and chewy. the waiter however did give me the option of cooking it again however i could not be bothered at the time because the wait for the food was very long. our steak dish came out after an hour although we were the first to arrive at the restaurant at midday for lunch. it took so long that we did not feel like having desserts after. we also came with our bub, but there were no high-chairs, this place is definitely not baby friendly.

i do however need to give credit to the service of the waiter. upon arrival he rearranged tables and chairs for us so that we could fit our pram at the window seat. also he offered to explain the menu to us and was extremely patient in going through what each of the dishes offered. he was visited our table often to top up our water and take away plates.

when i went to get the bill i was in for a shock of almost $100 when we only had two mains, a piece of bread and 1 skewer for dessert. extremely overpriced considering the portion size is extremely small.

off the main road is this cosy, contemporary wine bar offering glorious food to share & a huge wine list both by the glass or bottle. if you want to try anything new this is great place to experiment & learn. the staff are so helpful and friendly in listening to your likes & making great suggestions. the food is excellent - beautifully presented & delicious. the portions aren't huge and are designed to share which is the perfect way of having a huge variety. the menu changes seasonally. the charred octopus was outstanding including the lightly spiced squid ink sauce. pretzel & roe dip is a must & its easy to see why it is so popular. bonito was cooked perfectly as it can be tough if not cooked well. pastas are all housemade and i loved the texture but the chicken one i had on this occasion was slightly too salty. desserts especially the tiramisu is a must here. a great place for a date, catch up with friends, party or dining alone.

really not sure what the fuss is about this place. pasta was hard and overly salty. pretzel was just fine. tiramisu was good but obscene at $14 for the size. service was excellent though.

definitely a crowd pleaser pushing all the right buttons for wine lover or simply lovers of food. seating can be an issue with the walk in only policy but if you’re prepared to wait you will enjoy your experience. and here’s a tip, leave room for dessert
