cute place but average food and disappointing service. i was there on a quiet tuesday night and my first impression wasgreatand i immediately thought i would return again. however, despite not many people being there, the service was brisk and unfriendly with unhelpful and reluctant answers provided to questions regarding the menu. the food was disappointing, especially considering the price. ontop of this we were charged a 10% surcharge for having 7 people. despite good first impressions, i would not go back and would not recommend it. feels like a place that has taken advantage of being trendy and has forgotten that good food and service is what makes the experience and brings return customers.

off the main road is this cosy, contemporary wine bar offering glorious food to share & a huge wine list both by the glass or bottle. if you want to try anything new this isgreatplace to experiment & learn. the staff are so helpful and friendly in listening to your likes & makinggreatsuggestions. the food is excellent - beautifully presented & delicious. the portions aren't huge and are designed to share which is the perfect way of having a huge variety. the menu changes seasonally. the charred octopus was outstanding including the lightly spiced squid ink sauce. pretzel & roe dip is a must & its easy to see why it is so popular. bonito was cooked perfectly as it can be tough if not cooked well. pastas are all housemade and i loved the texture but the chicken one i had on this occasion was slightly too salty. desserts especially the tiramisu is a must here. agreatplace for a date, catch up with friends, party or dining alone.

always amazing. menu changes occasionally to keep things interesting, but can expect some dishes to remain. pretzel is wonderful - so is the tiramisu, which i find myself randomly thinking about. nice wine selection too.greatservice always. favourite restaurant in sydney.

it was with complete shock that we managed to get a seat at 10 william on a cold rainy day, we'd heard the urban legend about the wait to get in to this tiny little spot in paddington.  the tight space can be a little confronting when it is full, but once seated, you can choose from a decent wine list (bottle and by the glass) as well as an array of cocktails (hello negroni). the share-plate menu is curious with only a hint of the expected italian influence but to be honest forget that - it's excellent food (try the pretzel dish, yum).  we had agreattime; perhaps it was the euphoria of actually getting a seat or perhaps it was simply nice to be immersed in the unpretentious and genuine ambience.

this place has been on my list for a really long time. i went with really high expectations because everyone seems to absolutely love this place. and now we love it too. every dish was either really good,greator excellent. the pretzel and whipped bottarga was unbelievable. and they have fantastic wine too. oh and what everyone says about their tiramisu being the best in sydney is true! so good. we now go on a monthly basis.

went here with a girlfriend and we were advised it'll be a 30-60 minutes wait. but that's okay there's a bar right across the road! when we were called back (took 30 minutes) we were recommended to start with the homemade warm pretzel and hummus. this ain't any normal hummus, it had a smoked salmon taste to it. it was delicious. also had the kingfish, bolognese pappardelle(slightly over salted) and pippies spag. all so good, especially the pippies! we ordered the tiramisu for dessert and it came out on two large tablespoons. we were very confused! i swore i've seen it served in bowls. well it was bloody delicious... we wanted more!!! the waiter then complimented us with the strawberries and cream dessert... which made up for the lack of tiramisu. overall, i'll definitely be coming back.greatmeal and experience. prob one of my favs now!

we went to 10 william street for a few little nibbles and glass of wines before moving on to a different place for dinner later on. we were greeted by a very friendly staff. the venue was small which gave a nice cosy feeling. we ordered the botega whipped cod roe with german pretzel and beef tartar. both dishes were very flavoursome and light. we were recommended the 3 pinot wine which also was agreatchoice.

my perfect dinner date... i wanted to thank the staff for being so kind and wonderful in suggesting the various dishes and the wine that was gladly combined for an overall delightful dinner.
the crab and avocado dish was delicate and full of taste light and summery loved it, the culinary experience is definitely italian but with a twist, its surprising experience, of taste.
as a main i really recommend the cold farro noodles nettle and pickled asparagus lemon accompanied by pippis and pigtails crispy fresh innovative experience that delight your taste buds.
but when the desert came with the delicious combinations of the burrata mozzarella (cream filled mozzarella) and the dried crispy ice mandarine accompanies by ice-cream, i was happily surprised by the wonderful od combination of the 3 ingredients.. would definitely recommend it to any one that loves to be enlightened bygreatfood.

really nice italian food andgreatquality, but it's got smaller sized dishes than a 10 course degustation. we had 4 starters, 4 mains and 2 deserts to share with 4 people and left still hungry.

amazing food. my girlfriend and i went for dinner over the weekend, the place just is cozy and has agreatatmosphere. we loved the food, flavours and service. overall really enjoyed the night, however the portions were not big at all making it expensive.

what a disappointment! i live in the area and have walked passed many times and thought wow that place looks great! tried it last night, the food is very average, very small portions for what you pay and it does not live up to its expectation of traditional fresh italian cuisine (it tastes like it has come straight from the microwave) the atmosphere and look of the place isgreatill give them that! we were sat next to two loud pompous "fashionistas" who thought everything was "fabulous" which was a shame but i would recommend going there for a catch up drink rather than a meal. i think most people go there to be seen rather than enjoy food.

cosy - friendly - yummy. such a fantastic spot! excellent, friendly and knowledgable staff. and all the dishes were delish. calamari, pesto pasta and sirloin with rocket and potato. yum! and agreatselection of wines.

thank god for 10 william st!. my favourite place in sydney. the wine, food, service and ambience are all right up there for me. such agreatspot. we always get looked after and have a good time. as paddington locals we probably spend far too much time there but don't regret a single visit. long may it last.
