kobe scam. i had to write this review after reading thatkobebeef is something that can only be produced by a certain breed of cattle in a certain part of japan and is not exported to the united states. hence im upset that i'm being soldkobeburgers at zinburger. you can charge me a lot for a burger that has higher fat content (fat = flavor hence you could use any 80/20 ground beef to simulate kobe) but dont scam me by saying its kobe. i guess i'll have to travel to asia if i want to try realkobeas a delicacy.

3 out of 5. went there last night with my girlfriend and her father. we avoided the crowd and got a seat immediately outside, which made for good people watching.the staff was very attentive, knowledgable about the menu, and generally friendly. my girlfriend and her father tried the zinburger and i tried thekobeburger. at our waiters suggestion (can't remember his name but he had a beard and was a great waiter) we added some zuchinni fries and the truffle fries. the zuchinni fries were pretty tasty, crispy on the outside and very soft on the inside. the truffle fries were also good. i prefer my fries to be a little thicker cut (these were shoestring style) but thats just a personal preference. . the zin burger with zinfandel marianated onions was very juicy , and the onions and cheese paired well with the meat. mykobeburger, which i ordered medium rare, unfortunately came out extremely rare (almost completely uncooked on the inside). i don't mind a rare burger from time to time so i decided not to make a stink about it and give it a try. the meat was indeed delicious, and i finished almost all of it. however, you would expect cooking temp to not ever be an issue at an upscale burger joint. a big flaw in my book. when i pointed it out to the waiter i specifically mentioned i wasn't complaining but wanted to let the chef know just for quality control. the waiter thanked me for the input and mentioned he would speak with the kitchen. i hope he did. quality control for such a simple menu should be spot on. for dessert we again took our waiters suggestion and ordered the chocolate cream and banana cream pie for my companions, and a kit kat shake for myself. the portions were huge! a great value, especially considering they all tasted great. we left a lot behind on those plates so i would suggest sharing. our bill was about $100. nothing crazy but it seemed a little high for 3 burgers, 2 orders of fries, 3 desserts and 1 drink apiece. all in all, i think this would have been a 4 star revue if my burger had come out cooked as ordered, and the price was a bit more resonable. i would however reccomend it, as i look forward to going back and giving it another try.

kinda cool.. sort of a rock n roll atmosphere. service is quick. you can get akobeburger here, which is so worth it compared to the burgers made from the stuff they scraped off the slaughterhouse floor at the fast food chains. lots of glasses of wine to choose from to pair with the fare. a cool lunch spot. the vibe kinda reminds me of the hard rock in vegas.

loud, rock n roll, and eye candy. a friend dragged me there for akobeburger which is some sort of japanese process whereby they make the cow into a big fat pig. the extra fatty beef is supposed to make it delicious. i think the principle of more marbling best applies to steaks. there's no difference, in my opinion betweenkobeground beef and that low-grade 20% fat beef from the store.

they have a few wines, but the atmosphere doesn't make it worth it. i spent 30 bucks eating a really fatty burger and two glasses of wine while wishing i had ear plugs (its not just the loud music, its the acoustics in there). they figure we will pay that because the place is crawling with pretty young waitresses in mini skirts. next time i'll swing by the wine store, then pick up some beef at the store, take it home and grill me up a burger. i'll sip it with the bottle of wine that cost less than two glasses at zinburger and if i want the eye candy, i'll subscribe to the playboy channel or something.

tasty tucson gourmet burger!. tastiest gourmet burgers! every time i go to zin, my burger is cooked to perfection. i recommend the plain & simple burger or thekobeburger. each burger delight comes with it's own gourmet toppings but you can add custom toppings to fit your tastes. they also have an excellent chicken sandwich and turkey burger. there is something for everyone here - even a delicious veggie burger that melts in your mouth! the food is never greasy but very juicy and satisfying. appetizers like the sweet potato fries and zucchini fries are excellent. the milk shakes are heavenly--for chocolate lovers the bars of zin shake is my favorite - there is a date & honey milkshake which i noticed recently was taken of the menu; however, we asked for it and they were able to make it for us right away! the service is fast and friendly. the atmosphere is upbeat - a great place to go with friends for happy hour and great for families. good wine and beer and mixed drink selections, outdoor seating is available. great prices, trendy and the best burger joint in tucson!

i.... like it.. i have to tell you, my first trip to zin burger last year, wasn't the best, i was underwhelmed... did i have too high of expectations? i don't think so.

but

i just went back, and had lunch. i re-tried all the things i had last time, the blt salad, zucchini fries, kobeburger with bacon and cheddar. all of them were cooked properly, crisp when they should have been, juicy, seasoned... i was very surprised. not to mention what at great team they have in doug (manager) and josh (gm). it seems like they have a great handle on the food, if those 2 weren't there, it would feel different, but i would say... i am a zinburger fan...
