zinburger

where's the beef?. went to zinburger early on a recent saturday night. we were seated and handed menus, then nothing happened. no water. no drink order taken. nofoodorder. for 30-plus minutes. we tried to make eye contact and motion to the waiters and waitresses, but to no avail. left and had a better burger/fries plate for less money along north oracle road. we have been to many of the fox restaurants and they all seem to be phoning it in these days.

fancy burgers. we went to zinburger on a saturday night, and the place was packed, but we were seated immediately. i thought thefoodwas great, although a bit overpriced. we both got beer on tap. the regular thin-cut fries were nothing special, but i definitely recommend the zucchini fries (sprinkled with parm with ranch for dipping, yum). i got the veggie burger with maytag blue cheese rather than smoked mozzarella, and the patty was actually really good, made with both vegetables and grains. the burgers are so huge that they fall apart, so you might have to use a fork to finish things off. the best part of the meal: the banana cream pie. if you love banana pudding like i do, you absolutely must order a slice of what was essentially banana pudding in pie form.

worst burger place i've ever been to. the burgers were awful!! we got four different types of burgers with four different types of fries. the burgers were nearly inedible. they all tasted the same, like moldy cardboard mixed with sawdust and goo. horrible texture and taste. the zuchini fries were soggy and the prices for were waaaaay too high for the low qualityfoodthey gave. the waitresses were eating out of the plates they brought out to people, and random people just walked into the kitchen to say hi to people they knew who worked there. the point of a huge glass wall by the kitchen is to show that you have nothing to hide. zinburger would benefit from a large stone wall there to hide their staff (and random friends). the only thing that was good was the smoothie we ordered, although it wasn't anything fancy and was a bit overpriced, at least it was edible. will never go back to this place, i can't believe it has more than three stars on this site.

unimaginatively unappealing. one of the oddest catalina foothills burger-perspectives i've foreseeably followed routinely with peers and total strangers out of a random recommendation i got from the local scene on 4th.
even though i do not have an utmost and sincere hatred for zinburger, i also will not be going back, to either of their two tucson locations, because, as you see, its interior (as well exterior) design just didn't speak to me, its listed menu options were a bit pricey for what they ultimately were offering, and, among others, waitresses in miniskirts only work if thefoodthey bring to your table is a) incredibly good and b) if they're attentive to their customers. neither accurately describes the waitresses at zb, sadly, so the miniskirts' seemingly only real function is to get as many guys in there as humanly possible. its look is a mix of indie awkwardness, post-modernist and tex-mex architecture. they have paintings of cows sniffing glasses of wine on their doors. um, okay. i ordered an applewood smoked bacon salad only to be boringly surprised with how much applewood smokiness it truly lacked. the service was nothing to write home about, if anything it would be just below "average" or "decent", however i was more than a little ticked at our waitresses: after nearing fifteen minutes and no food, she had come out of the kitchen only to see our table, our inpatient eyes, and avoided us entirely for most of the night. i'm not kidding, she avoided our table -- we actually had to call someone else over just so we can ask them if they knew anything about our food. they of course had no idea but soon enough the manager came out and apologized for the wait; free dipping bread and sauce was given to our table for the long-ass wait. nice effort, but it didn't save the meal for me at all. i also tried a burger, nothing too fancy, just an ordinary burger (pitched as a "zinburger") and thought it didn't have very much, if any, flavor. any fries bought here have to be purchased separately from the burger which i did, nor will i ever, understand.

goodfoodbut very rushed orderd drinks. appetizer, and burgers got them all five to ten minutes apart. for the price i paid you shouldn't have to be rushed.

too pricey for average quality. i have to say pass on this place.

the quality of thefooddoes not justify the price. also, the additional toppings at 1.25 each, is too excessive.

definitely paying for the concept and atmosphere, opposed to the quality.

would you like noise with that?. if you can get past the noise and the uncomfortable plastic chairs, the industrialfoodfactory design of the place, and quaint shopping center locale you might enjoy one of their overpriced burgers. we couldn't.. fortunately i knew of a much better than average burger not too far from there and away we went.

jersey joint with a nyc price tag.. i am not going to deny thefoodwas good. the burger was flavorful and the sweet potato fries were well complimented by the light tzatziki style dipping sauce, but the price tag was the turning point. $15 dollars for a burger and fries? in the eyes of an average eater, you are basically paying for the cloth napkins and silver where you are probably not going to use on your burger.

zin is in. love this place!!!! great food!!! love the bergers, fries shakes and pies. greatfood@ a good price.

great burgers. had the zinburger and samburger. both were juicy and delicious. favored the samburger a little more cause of the bacon. everything is better with bacon. fries where very thin like shoelace fries. thought everything was a bit pricey. a meal for 2 burgers,fries, and drink ended up being about 30 dollars total. over all greatfoodand a relaxed atmosphere.

kinda cool.. sort of a rock n roll atmosphere. service is quick. you can get a kobe burger here, which is so worth it compared to the burgers made from the stuff they scraped off the slaughterhouse floor at the fastfoodchains. lots of glasses of wine to choose from to pair with the fare. a cool lunch spot. the vibe kinda reminds me of the hard rock in vegas.

tasty tucson gourmet burger!. tastiest gourmet burgers! every time i go to zin, my burger is cooked to perfection. i recommend the plain & simple burger or the kobe burger. each burger delight comes with it's own gourmet toppings but you can add custom toppings to fit your tastes. they also have an excellent chicken sandwich and turkey burger. there is something for everyone here - even a delicious veggie burger that melts in your mouth! thefoodis never greasy but very juicy and satisfying. appetizers like the sweet potato fries and zucchini fries are excellent. the milk shakes are heavenly--for chocolate lovers the bars of zin shake is my favorite - there is a date & honey milkshake which i noticed recently was taken of the menu; however, we asked for it and they were able to make it for us right away! the service is fast and friendly. the atmosphere is upbeat - a great place to go with friends for happy hour and great for families. good wine and beer and mixed drink selections, outdoor seating is available. great prices, trendy and the best burger joint in tucson!

mixed bag. the service at zinburger is fantastic, friendly, attentive... thefoodis very good and definately worth going there for... but the atmosphere.... it's a feng shui nightmare!! mirrors everywhere, totally uncomfortable seating arrangement and the biggest turn off for me?... the huge mural of cows in green pastures on the wall... it's like "hi, here's the cow your going to eat"... not good. also, the use of pergo flooring on the ceiling... yikes! so, go for thefoodand service, but be prepared to not be able to talk to whoever you go with, because the acoustics are deafening... better yet... get take out!

how come zin isn't on campusbucks' network?. thefoodis good. nice upscale for a change. what i don't get is why zin doesn't accept campusbucks cards which is the growing off campus meal plan. campusbucks gives all kinds of discounts and i and other students would love a zin burger for cheap money. thanks.

decent atmosphere,but thefoodis average and way over priced you will be dissapointed
