zaika by gemini continental hotel

yes if u are looking at this review then i can say that u maybe upto visiting this restaurant.
and i can bet that you'll miss a lot if you'll not visit it.
this place is a heaven of foods.
the flavours , the tastes , they r all authentic.
the restaurant is on the 8th floor and with best of city view .
moreover the designing of the restaurant is excellent with a superb atmosphere.
the dishes are all best but u may opt for chinese

the name of the restaurant somewhat fails to justify the taste they offer in zaika. the taste is average, but definitely not up to the mark. the experience won't be that delightful, but you can give it a try once. the ambiance has to be good, considering the elegant looks of the hotel in which zaika is situated !!!

this is a perfect example of good food, ambiance, and company going bad if service is lousy. i went for the breakfast buffet along with 3 of my friends. we were extremely happy to see the spread and thought that early morning waking up on a saturday would definitely pay off. unfortunately, our happiness did not last when we went back for the second serving and found that most of the courses' dishes were empty. we requested the waiters to help us out and get food but that took quite a long time. we found other diners too complaining about the same. i do not know if the back kitchen was slow or the front end employees were lazy to put across our orders. but overall what could have been a wonderful experience with the mouth watering salami, sauteed mushroom, cutlet and sausages turned out to be an ordinary experience. the person serving tea took almost 15 minutes after i requested him to get me one and then he took 5 more minutes to get me sugar. needless to say by then my tea went cold. but hats off to the chef at egg and dosa corner, he made awesome omelettes. i would definitely go back to this place if they either change the waiters or enhance the service quality by providing extensive training,.

when i first entered this place , my first impression was its too amazing. :)

the prices was a bit on the higher side but it was all worth , having your food at the top floor seeing the entire city from the glass.i went at night so the sparkling lights of the city were looking beautiful.

the food was tasty specially the chinese and the indian delicacies.

the service was quick and the waiters were very courteous.the presentation was excellent.

overall , a memorable thing , specially at dinner , the sparkling lights of the city from the top floor.the food is great ,so was the service,highly recommended. :d

i have been here once and i really liked them.

being from lucknow, i left the city some 15 yrs back. now, whenever i am back, it pains me to see that at least the restaurants in the city haven't kept pace with the ones in other cities. so, mostly i stick to the old ones which are hard core foodie places with nothing to do with the ambience or the service or i eat ghar ka khana.

in my quest to take out my whole family to at least one meal while i am there, i always ask or lookout for better / new places. i stumbled upon this restaurant which is quite accessible, a nice place for a family dinner and something which impresses your mom :-)

we reached without a reservation and we still got a good table with a good view. parking was fairly simple since they have their own space and a valet available. access to the restaurant is through the lift which opens up right in the place.

their menu is quire extensive and offer a lot of variety, both local and global food. since we were not too interested in the local food, we wanted to try their continental stuff. we ordered chicken hawaian salad, fish and chips, mutton stroganoff and the mixed grill. the food was pretty good, well made and served with a good service.

we had a pretty relaxed time while they served the food and we ended up full and happy. we were glad that we came to the right place.

while some find this place a bit pricey but if you ask me, i spent my money well.

recommended if you are in a mood to break away from your regular food and have something good.

i went there in june 1 2013 with 19 people for a family dinner. the service is pathetic. noone offers to serve the food neither do they place cutlery in front of guests unless asked. the basic hygiene is not taken care of, on a table of 19 only 4 got finger bowls. taste of food, presentation and ambience is not in sync with the pricing which is on the high side.

our car which was parked by the valet in the hotel parking ( zaika is in hotel gemini intercontinental) had visible damage to it. the window glass was found broken when we went down to get our cars from the valet. there was glass on the front seats. evidentally someone snashed it from the outside. the general manager, mr nikhil, told us that he will get it replaced if we being the car on june 3.

overall our evening was ruined by all these episodes. zaika and hotel gemini intercontinental is an avoidable place at lucknow.

have been there many times. low fat food, great decor & the view from the top floor where this is located is the charm of the restaurant.
food is less spicy and meets the 5* standards. they should incorporate some food festival!

i have been there only once, and may be the day was not right.
since i've heard only good things about the restaurant i will try it once more.
i ordered one chicken starter and one main course and both were not up to mark.
also the person who was taking our order was stiff to talk which made me uncomfortable and hesitant to ask for anything.
