zaika by gemini continental hotel

i visitedzaikaon rakhi for lunch and the place was quite empty the reason being that their ac was not working initially but by the time our lunch came in the issue was resolved. the place has a good ambience and wonderful view of hazratganj area. i tried their steamed chicken momos in starters which came with a salsa sauce and was good in taste. in main course i tried their chicken tikka masala, mutton rogan josh, naan, rumali roti, aloo kulcha which were all good in taste but could have been better. their veg hakka noodles were good. the staff were helpful and took care of our needs promptly.

zaika by gemini continental is situated in the heart of the city in hazratganj. based on the exquisite white theme,this place hold its own tranquillity and calmness.
i loved the flavors at zaika.their fish dishes are really delicious.i liked their dessert options.
**the only dilemma is that the food takes too much time to get on your table.**
but i suggest to go for a buffet rather than a' la carte atzaikabecause you will explore more options when you choose bufffet and parallelly that is more value for money.
**the hospitality atzaikaneeds to be remodelled. i would rate 3 stars.**
this place is spiced just right for a delightful family dinner!

an excellent place to hang out with friends and family. the service was awesome. great ambience. the staff was very humble and cooperative. tasty food. slow n soothing music and a lovely view from the 7th floor. thank uzaikateam☺️ see u again ☺️

been tozaikamany times but the dish i admire the most is the fried rice... but not only chinese indian continental and most of the menuzaikaoffers is finger licking good.it has been the favourite place for me for the family get together...

i decided to have lunch atzaikafor the views mostly but it turned out to be a good experience. while i found the vegetarian dishes to be average, the non veg dishes were better.
had ordered the following:
1. veg fried rice
2. paneer chilly
3. chicken fried rice
4. chilli chicken
5. fresh lime soda
being at the 7th floor of gemini continental, the restaurant offers good views and ambience.

i went to hotel rennisance but view fromzaikais better and may be best in city lucknow.
the awadhi, mughalai food served is authentic and among best in city.

i miss a lounge bar below ground floor which can make it a happening place in hazaratganj.

dinner was good. however they didn't gave any discount on axis bank debit and credit card saying we are not aware. so either axis bank orzaikais at fault for misleading advertisement.

excellent place to dine. the restaurant is located on the 7th floor (lift available) of hotel gemini continental (next to u.p. press club and adjacent to erstwhile tulsi theatre).

had the option for a la carte and buffet and chose the former. went in a group of 10 so lots of dishes tried. this is one of the few upmarket places in lucknow which understands mutton and its preparations. though a lot of street food joints prepare excellent mutton dishes, the posh and upmarket eateries miss out on that; they’re good with chicken, but no so much mutton.

however, the chefs atzaikaknow what to do with their mutton. ask for galawati kebab and mutton nihari (must have if you want to experience awadhi cuisine).

soups were disappointing. however, if you’re in for a spicy meal, a bland soup like chicken sweet corn may be a good start (not kidding). their breads are freshly done and service is courteous. did not have any beverages, so not sure about that.

if you have out-of-towners coming in or a business meeting, and you don’t want them to sample local cuisine at street-side stalls, thenzaikais a great option to impress them.

a great experiance at gemini continental, situated in most posh locality of lucknow,zaikais on top floor of gemini so the main usp is the ariel view one can get from here. food quality they served is industry standard. staff is also good. ambiance as per 3 star hotels.

the once flavour of lakhnavi cuisine,zaikaseems to have lost its grandeur with age. or, as it may seem so, the dishes have no great taste left in them. other restaurants are providing newer and added delicacies with enhanced flavours.

been there a while ago, ordered a veg and non veg platter for the starters, mutton rogan josh, chicken malai korma and paneer hyderabadi for the main course. and except the non veg platter, everything tasted so boring, nothing great to write upon, as if we were given a punishment to eat it, so we ate. paneer tasted as if was left out in the open since last night. mutton was over cooked and chicken was hard to find in the chicken malai korma. i guess the chef didn't like us, so everything was spoilt. as were hungry, ordered a chicken biryani, and to our surprise, it turned out to be good. not at all in comparison to the next door dastarkhwan, but coming out a winner in the rest of the dishes.

waiters are good and polite, seemed to be paid well, however, the chef needs improvement. a lot of my friends warned me not to go there as the place has lost its sheen, still i had the audacity to challenge their warnings.

not at all recommended, unless they change the quality of taste they provide. the folks down there provide exceptionally mouthwatering dishes, if not match to their taste, then at least be better, because one pays you handsomely, to make him feel happy, not sad.

it does not offer something add onzaikato its dishes. the dishes are average in taste. ambience wise the place is beautiful as located in the heart of the city offers good views from the top. service is good too. but they surely should add some zing to its dishes.

the name of the restaurant somewhat fails to justify the taste they offer in zaika. the taste is average, but definitely not up to the mark. the experience won't be that delightful, but you can give it a try once. the ambiance has to be good, considering the elegant looks of the hotel in whichzaikais situated !!!

i went there in june 1 2013 with 19 people for a family dinner. the service is pathetic. noone offers to serve the food neither do they place cutlery in front of guests unless asked. the basic hygiene is not taken care of, on a table of 19 only 4 got finger bowls. taste of food, presentation and ambience is not in sync with the pricing which is on the high side.

our car which was parked by the valet in the hotel parking (zaikais in hotel gemini intercontinental) had visible damage to it. the window glass was found broken when we went down to get our cars from the valet. there was glass on the front seats. evidentally someone snashed it from the outside. the general manager, mr nikhil, told us that he will get it replaced if we being the car on june 3.

overall our evening was ruined by all these episodes.zaikaand hotel gemini intercontinental is an avoidable place at lucknow.
