absolutely heavenly! we came on a recommendation as a great place that can cater for vegan plus food allergies. we had a few dishes, black pepper rice noodles, salt and pepper tofu and brussell sprouts all wonderful, even modified. finished off with coconut sago pudding and sticky date pudding. highly recommended.

one of the most unique vegetarian restaurants. lots of small and large share plates that are well composed with a cool twist. yullis is also a brewery and has amazing seasonal beers on tap as well as a huge selection of great beers by other breweries. well priced and amazing atmosphere. the best thing we had were the satay skewers!

my best friend is a devoted member of the church of veganism and throughout the years of knowing her i've been less than accommodating for her dietary needs when picking places to dine at. however as of late as suggested by previous posts i went "bad vegetarian" for about a month or so as a way of understanding her lifestyle. so in honouring her and to make up for the years of picking burger and rib places for dinner it was suggested to me by someone to check this place out.

location, ambience and decor wise it's sensational - middle of crown st, right in front of the clock hotel - a surry hills landmark. we rendezvous at around 8pm midweek and its reasonably busy - the staff happily accommodated for us two without a reservation.

i highly rate the watermelon juice and gin cocktail and the brussels sprouts - the later being mutely vegetarian as its an ethereal combination of parmesan and butter + charred sprouts.

this place is bitchin' and it gets me wishin' i was a vegetarian.

as the only vegetarian in the family it can be hard to convince them to go to a place that only serves veg, but after going to yullis, my family fell in love! the food is so delicious. we like to order the banquet so we can try a bit of everything, which is always exciting and each time exceeds our expectations. the service is great, all the girls are really friendly and helpful. it is quite noisy, but it adds to the atmosphere. i would recommend this for a birthday, or catchup with friends!

a superb selection for vegetarians. food was very nice. if i wanted to go for some fine dining again i would certainly go back. there were many things i'd love to try on the menu. the staff were very good too.
only con for me would me comfort. we sat in the hall and the tables were low and seats even lower. not particularly comfortable for extended periods. it was also the darkest place i've eaten, so much so i actually used the torch on my phone to read the menu and similarly to look at the food when it arrived. overall, a good place though. 🐣

last night was my first visit to yulli's and it inspired my first review because i felt compelled to warn patrons with tastes like my own. let's get the basics out of the way: food was was tasty and reasonably priced as was the wine. the ambience is great, loved the music but the tables are too low for the stools in the courtyard. this however, isn't nearly as annoying as the fact that you need to get your phone torch out to read the menu and identify what dish has just been placed on the table.
now...service: horrific. two other parties arrived at the same time as me. one was smart enough to walk up to the bar to ask to be seated, where a young lady rudely kept her eyes glued to what she was reading while she answered. the other couple waited at the door awkwardly for over three minutes and were completely ignored. i asked to be seated and was given directions to find the allocated table in the courtyard myself.
before i was offered a glass of water or the option to order a drink, a waitress approached me to ask if i had been given a time limit in a manner that could best be described as haughty. once we were ready to order, we had to go inside and approach the bar after sitting in the dark for ten minutes wondering if anybody was coming out.  their haughty representative (mentioned earlier) rushed my friend while she ordered, saying "yep" before she had finished reading out the dish names and low and behold, we got the incorrect haloumi dish and the san choy bau never arrived (for the record, she ordered 4 dishes in total so they basically hit a 50% success rate). we struggled to get service throughout the entire night until we were left with just our wine to finish. at this point, we were approached 4 times in the space of 15 minutes to see if we were "okay" which is obviously code for "get out" - and that would have been understandable.... if a third of the restaurant wasn't empty at that time.
i'll disclose that i am not vegetarian, so i will gladly never visit this place again, but the lack of meat on the menu is definitely not the reason for this decision.

i was drawn to this place because i've tried their yummy beers at the craft beer festival, and their food is just as good! started off with the aussie ale and caramelised brussel sprouts(doesn't sound amazing but it's fkn amazing and this is a must get), then had some dumplings (so so), and then the mains of pizza and the delicious quesadilla!!! i think i got blown away by the brussel sprouts, would be keen to hit up more of the entree small plates. definitely love the place and going to the bathroom is quite a unique experience hahah (you ll find out)

restaurant was great, waiter was very knowledgeable on the menu and friendly. we had a few share plates and they were all delicious (although a lot were deep fried). not necessarily a healthy vegetarian option... but a delicious one.

yulli's used to be great! wow it's descended to a bland food & service. 23 mins to take drinks order. every dish bland. i'm giving a miss for another year, hope the chef no longer there! we are lucky to have so many choices, this place just got lazy!

•first time eating at an all vegetarian cafe/restaurant
•sichuan tofu - the enoki mushrooms were the bomb, nice and crunchy! not too chilli and well portioned. best dish we ordered
•chilled noodles - black fungus dumplings were good, needed something else in the dish, felt it was too bland
•haloumi bagel - haloumi was good - again it was quite bland, needed some sauce in the bagel
•ice mocha - single origin coffee, not too strong, could of made it bigger!
•felt the place was a bit understaffed for a saturday, the staff were friendly though.
•i didn't feel bogged down like you would after a large meal, i didn't fall into a food coma either so i suppose those were the pluses!
•would go back to try out other dishes

always enjoy going there.
tables and sitting could be better but the food is really what we go there for. everything we ordered was excellent except the salt and pepper tofu and papaya salad. the tofu was tasteless; the crumbling needed much more spices.
love the place and will certainly go back there.

wow. i never thought i'd actually say this, but the toasted tofu was just delish. we had the banquet and none of the meals were disappointing. i'd go back in a flash.

one of my favourite places to eat! even if you're not a vegetarian (i'm not) this place serves full of flavour in a laid back, fun environment. rice paper rolls, leek dumplings, haloumi and salt and pepper tofu are my go to dishes. make sure you book as this place gets busy.
