the place had such wonderful ambiance -- the lights were dim and there were candles on the tables. when we entered, i was surprised to see that almost all tables were reserved. we were seated at the bar at first and was later on transferred to a table. the menu was comprehensive and organized that it was easy for you to find what you're looking for.
we ordered the chili crab buns which were pretty good, but i wasn't able to finish one piece because it was too spicy for me. what impressed me was the smoked salmon donburi with black rice! it tasted amazing! imagine a little more cooked version of a salmon sashimi, and very tasty ones at that! when you visit this restaurant, make sure to order the salmon. i was about to rate this place five out of five but our next order changed my mind. it was the braised beef pasta. the noodles were too hard, that it became a chore to chew. it also had an undesirable aftertaste that it masked the taste of the sauce. the beef and the sauce were also not that special. when visiting this restaurant, i suggest you first read online reviews to give you an idea on what to order.
in my case, i would gladly come back even just for the salmon donburi!
