nice spot!. i have been hearing about this place for a long time now and finally one of my friends "dragged me" here for lunch today. we arrived around 12:30 p.m. and the place was packed! thankfully, we were able to snag the one table that was left inside. i know the entirety of my review will not be popular, but i have to be honest. i found two employees working there to be rather annoying (cashier and guy walking around). i mean just shut up and let me order my food and eat in peace. i am a fun person and enjoy cordial friendly people, but i just felt they were completely over the top and borderline maddening. with that being said, i did enjoy my lunch very much, however. it can get expensive. i ordered the classicyellowdog club ($8.95) with a small pasta salad ($3.50), a large pasta salad to go ($6.95 - overpriced for the portion size), and a slice of orange cake to go ($6.95 - also overpriced for the portion size). my total was $29.18! the house it is located in is quaint and cute and they have a really nice outside courtyard garden. would i go back? sure. the taste of the food and the uniqueness of the atmosphere would warrant a return visit.

i really love the atmosphere ofyellowdog eats and their bbq. i have gone several times with friends to eat there and always come away feeling taken. the price of the drinks is high. the price of the sandwiches is on the high end even though they are tasty. the thing that turned me and my friends away from going back toyellowdog eats happened this past christmas holiday. our group coordinator called to reserve a room upstairs for a girls day christmas lunch and the managers gave us the run around on the price to reserve a room. we decided not to reserve a room and just show up. upon arrival we asked the staff if they could play christmas music. we were told they would not play christmas music. i have lived in area for 20 years and have gone there 4 times.every time i have gone to eat there i am disappointed in their rude customer service.

one of my go-to places. i had a friend say that everyone has 5 restaurants that they call their standards -yellowdog is definitely one of mine. despite its location in a somewhat remote area of town, i find myself willing and ready to make the drive as often as possible. this place is consistently great.

yellow dog has some of the most inventive bbq i've ever had. and while good pulled pork is a dime-a-dozen in orlando, yellowdog has reinvented the classic and added touches like bleu cheese, bacon, and scallions to make the blue suede shoes sandwich (my favorite).

but the menu doesn't end there. they have a deep array of selections, filled with great "herbivore" options, salads, sides, and sandwiches. all of which are reasonably priced and day-of fresh. additionally, the atmosphere (a house that was repurposed as a restaurant) makes you feel like you're hanging out at your cool friends home, getting a great meal, and not feeling rushed.

yellow dog is a rare mix of inviting ambiance, delicious food, and unique menu. enjoy.

we just came back fromyellowdog eats out by windermere, fl, and i must say that this is one of the best new establishments that i have tried in a really long time! well, it isn’t a “new” place at all, i believe it has been in this location for about 12 years, but it is definitely “new” for me, and immediately climbed its way to the top of my list. it seems to be a huge house that has been turned into a restaurant, a gem that one stumbles upon with a hippie flare that serves food made with love! throw in a touch of the cracker barrel style store where you can purchase unique bar-b-que sauces, wines and t shirts. then stir in a whole bunch of eccentricity, and top it off with a cool guy named fish (the head cheese and chef) who walks around and talks to customers and makes sure everybody is happy! the food â€" delicious! sandwiches, salads, bbq, desserts, beer, vegan/vegetarian options â€" all in interesting combinations. i had the pulled pork salad ($12.95

wish the staff and service were as good as the food. i want to likeyellowdog, it's in my neighborhood and the food is good. but, whenever i go, the staff makes me feel like i am doing them a favor by giving them my business. my parents went in recently, and they are older, my mom was in a cast, and when there weren't any tables, the staff said, "well, just go upstairs." meanwhile there was a teenager sitting at a four top, not eating anything, and they should have asked her to move to a smaller table. recently i went here and ordered three soups to go, and when i asked for a bag the staff person rolled his eyes at me. i used to go toyellowdog for the personal service and good food. the food is good, but not worth the bad attitude of the staff.

the food - delicious! sandwiches, salads, bbq, desserts, beer, vegan/vegetarian options - all in interesting combinations. i had the pulled pork salad ($12.95) a bed of fresh greens, grape tomatoes, fresh onions, scallions, carrots, tangy bleu cheese, fried onions, cucumbers, and dikon sprouts topped with a hearty serving of our famous pulled pork and fish's citrus-bbq sauce. it was sweet, spicy, hearty and extremely fresh all at the same time, there were some bonus peanuts and almonds on it which gave it an extra crunch, and not only did i practically lick my plate clean, but i couldn't have been happier to do it!
it was well worth the 20 minute drive. upon looking at the website i found they have a room upstairs with a chef's table for larger parties, and also a cool outdoor seating section for a day with nice weather! i plan on going back often, and taking friends that i know will love it. and i feel excited to have this treasure in my repertoire of delicious places to eat!

munch on munchers (foodie eddie). so i get stoned and i go to places to satisfy the munchies. yde ? munchin'. the vibe is chill with an upbeat juju of florida's heart and soul. i had the hokey pokey fish tacos and a craft beer with a band covering van morrison's "brown eyed girl ". whoa. they've got a vw with some gnarly lookin' table writing from the finger tips of guests... everywhere on everything. the costs is worth it. the money goes to more than food but the experience that could only be found in a town called gotha.yellowdog gets 4 out 5 spliffs for its fantastic combo of good people , good food, and good music.

a #sandwicheatup event atyellowdog eats. i love going to eat at a cool local restaurant for the first time. i had the pleasure to visityellowdog eats in gotha for a #sandwicheatup. if you don’t know about the #sandwicheatup events hosted by anthony “biggie” bencomo of deli fresh threads, you need to check him out on @twitter and instagram to check out his cool local brand, @delifreshthrds.

this #sandwicheatup was a great opportunity to see other local bloggers and foodies, and enjoy a meal together.

i had a hard time deciding what to get. the menu had a ton of selections that all looked good! i took a few pics of food that other folks were eating to give you an idea of some of the other options atyellowdog eats.

i finally made a decision, and went with the puppy love sandwich (and had them add fluff). this sandwich was awesome! it was made of peanut butter, strawberry preserves, chocolate chips, marshmallow fluff, sliced strawberries and bananas on wheat bread (so, it’s kinda healthy, right?)! and how cute is it that they serve this sandwich with animal crackers!

i had to have something savory with all this sweet, so i opted for a side of the bbq bacon potato salad! oh my word was this good. instead of a mayonnaise based salad, this had spicy mustard. it was spicy and fantastic!

yellow dog eats has cool, funky decor. inside, they have a litte area where they sell their sauces, and in the corner, a little bar. (try the strawberry mojito, it’s excellent!) outside, they have a great “garden” or patio area where you can eat as well. it would be awesome to eat inside their reconditioned vw van! groovy!

you definitely need to make the trip out – - it’s basically right off of 408 and good homes road (take good homes to old winter garden, and turn onto hempel off of old winter garden)! it’s worth it!

you can also findyellowdog eats on @twitter at @yellowdogeats!

woof woof!

i have been jonesing to tryyellowdog eats over in orlando (okay, windermere...but it's all basically the same place) ever since i first read about it on urbanspoon a year or so ago.  hmmm....how could i not be intrigued by yellow dog eats bistro and wine store since i: am "owned" by ayellowdog who, by all appearances, seems to spend most of time plotting to overthrow mankind... like to eat almost as much as he does... and love wine almost more than life itself.yellowdog eats and i looked on paper like we would be a match made in heaven, except for their pesky sandwich menu.  i've always found sandwiches oddly off-putting...simple stomach-filler for when you're too tired, too lazy, too poor or too uninspired to put together a "real meal" (but i'm highly evolved enough at this point in life to know that this idea is rooted in my childhood where 3,000 too many baloney sandwiches on sunbeam were tossed at me and called "supper"). moving forward, i was immediately enchanted by the old

there was some good food to be had at yellowdog eats cafe on my recent visit there, but unfortunately it didn't end up on my plate (though it did on that of my friend, tommy). extremely salty soup and a messy sandwich with cold pulled pork left me sorely disappointed. but, let's start with the good.  we arrived about 5 or so on a sunday evening. yellow dog eats cafe is a very interesting place, quite unique. you order at the counter and find your own seat. there is plenty of seating, inside and out and it's quite quaint. we approached the counter and the friendly girl there asked if we'd been there before. our answer was "no" and so she proceeded to tell us about the place. maybe it was me, but she's done this once to often and needed to slow down a bit. but, we did catch a good part of what she had to say. eventually we returned and ordered. tommy ordered the holy crap . this was mesquite grilled turkey on a dark bread, maybe pumpernickel, with bacon, lettuce, onions and cheese. it

my favorite sandwich place!. there's nothing else in orlando or kissimmee likeyellowdog eats.

orlando is the land of franchises. in 8 miles around my workplace, there are 4 tgi friday's. so it was to my great surprise that i found something as quirky and unique asyellowdog eats.

when a friend or relative comes from out-of-state, this is the place i take them to when i want to give them an experience they are not able to replicate when they go back to their turfs.

basically, yde is an antique florida house (rare find, most houses in central florida are new...blame the hurricanes) converted into a restaurant with a patio and a second floor for private events and additional seating, yellowdog eats specializes on sandwiches. that's it. sandwiches and wraps and mozzarella salad.

you will not find anything with fish, because that would be offensive to the owner/chef (his last name is fish). what you will find are great-tasting, healthy-sounding lunch-fare. my favorite is the "smokey", which is basically a pulled-pork bbq sandwich with heaps of meat (i dare you to double-grip it and big-bite it!) and a fantastic sweet sauce that is complemented by a pineapple slice.

everybody that i have taken to yde has been delighted. that's 9 different people, 4 out-of-towners, 4 different trips. that's consistent in my book.

they also have fun specials, like the beer-flavored mashed potatoes they did during st. patty's.

oh, and if you have some room...scratch that! make some room and try their orange creamsicle cake. it is so good, my girlfriend requested a whole cake for her birthday and i complied!

my only complaint is that this is a way-too-popular-for-its-size place. depending at what time you go, you might find yourself with inconvenient parking spaces, a 10-people waiting line and no tables inside, or out in the patio. i don't know what happens when it's raining. i have not had the misfortune.

otherwise, enjoy this casual, fun, not-so-hidden gem of a restaurant and peruse the abundant canine decor (bring a pic of your pooch if you want to add to it!).

this is my favorite restaurant!. i’m just going to start out by saying thatyellowdog eats is my favorite restaurant!
the true test of a good restaurant is when not only do you want to go back again and again, but you also want to take friends so that they can try it too. as i am trying to think of how many people i have currently taken there i am at 15, and i bet by the time i have posted this it will be even higher.
located in the middle of a quiet neighborhood in gotha (16 minute from downtown orlando) this house-turned-in-to-a-restaurant has become a place that i have awakened from a deep sleep with anxious cravings ofyellowdog’s creations!
the atmosphere... in a word...eclectic! purchase bottles of wine or homemade bbq sauce while looking at photos of dogs (from customers) pasted all over the walls. the owner named fish might be walking around to check on your food or crack a joke.
the service... order at the main counter (line can be very long at peak times) and wait for your name to be called. after getting your food dine either inside on graffiti-filled wooden tables (try upstairs if the first floor is full) or outside in the beautiful patio on stone picnic tables.
the food... great bbq, pulled pork and gourmet sandwiches, vegetarian and vegan with gluten-free options. they offer a “special” sandwich of the day, as well as a soup or two and some amazing side items. then top it off with one of their extremely decadent locally made desserts!
their pulled pork is hard to beat, and i have found that i cannot go there without having either the pulled pork salad (a bed of fresh greens, grape tomatoes, red onions, scallions, carrots, tangy bleu cheese, fried onions, cucumbers and dikon sprouts topped with a hearty serving of our famous pulled pork and fish’s citrus-bbq sauce $12.95),
blue suede shoes (our smooth pulled pork topped with tangy bleu cheese, crispy bacon, thin sliced scallions and red onions served on a soft bun. this would make elvis proud $9.95)
or mr. smokey (our pulled pork with wonderfully smoked pineapple, fried onions, crispy bacon and heavenly bbq sauce on a soft bun $9.95)
there is just something about the combination of the succulent pork and fish’s citrus bbq sauce that is completely addictive!
your sandwich will come with a bag of chips and their sweet and delicious slaw, but i also highly recommend getting an additional side item such as their pesto tomato/ mozzarella salad with balsamic glaze or the spicy roasted potatoes.
one time i even had a burger with bacon and bleu cheese that was the “special of the day” and it was also outstanding!
i have yet to eat something there that i did not enjoy!
everyone that i have ever taken there has loved it, and they all seem to want me to take them back again and again. i can’t think of a nicer thing to say about a place, and there aren’t many others that i have ever said that about.
if you are still reading this, then stop and go there right now.
i insist!
