yards bruncheon has the right idea when it comes to breakfast. the place is warm and inviting and always packed. the staff are friendly and attentive. sadly the food is always disappointing. if only they could just deliver on the flavors they promise.

ordered the donuts with a maple bacon glaze. they came out raw. the second batch was good but did not detect any bacon in the glaze.

i've also had the wild huckelberry pancakes-gummy and flavorless, biscuits & gravy: biscuits dry and dense, gravy was just meh. disappointing. the breakfast burger was just gross.

it is rumored that the food used to be good here. i have not experienced that yet but hopeyardscan figure it out.

i have been frequenting yard bruncheon since it opened. in a lot of cases i am turned off by modern twists on basic comfort foods, everything sounds great then there is a random off-putting ingredient thrown in. most restaurants that do this(central food, scratch, and casper frys) don't seem to offer something simpler to those who don't have a pallet as adventurous. this is not the case with yards.

theyardsoffer a great range of flavors from simple to complex, pleasing my simple taste but leaving a door should i feel like exploring. their dishes aren't threatening and don't force me into a situation where i'm eating my dish to be polite.

in regards to the "critic" that didn't like the coffee; you must not drink coffee regularly. i am a coffee drinker, i was overly excited when i moved to washington from california and found that every restaurant serves excellent coffee and the proper strength.

i absolutely love theyardsand will continue to return every week for as long as possible. downtown was/is in need of a great breakfast spot, theyardsbruncheon was a very welcomed addition to the area.

food not up to par with concept. my friend is foodie from new york who has also lived in las vegas. so when she gaveyardsbruncheon a thumbs up; i started to salivate!

i was disappointed withyardsbruncheon. the food was good but not great. i like the whole idea of a gourmet diner. the actual dishes my husband and i ate atyardsbruncheon fell short of that lofty goal. my squash omelet was a great concept breakfast. however, my squash omelet was way too sweet. it made me wonder if anyone took the time to properly tweak my high concept breakfast before putting it on a menu. my husband’s corned beef hash was good but nothing exceptional.

yards bruncheon prices are in line with a quality of the food. i didn’t feel cheated, in terms of money. our server, uri, couldn’t be nicer and was very attentive. yet, i wanted better food after the rave reviews from my friend.

to date, the best brunches i’ve tasted in the spokane/cda area are:

1. sante
2. saranac public house
3. boots (taste the dishes in the case first)
4. madeleine’s
5. italia trattoria
6. chaps
7. clover
8. garnet caf

will wait & see. so, just had breakfast here today. i was really excited about this new venture of adam's and was an excited backer on kickstarter for theyardsbruncheon and wandering table. first off, we were greeted upon entering and the server was immediately available. the menu shows a nice variety with good price points. the service was excellent and menu varied and interesting. they were very accommodating with substitutions which is always appreciated. for the most part my meal was good with the exception of the "browns". about half of them were burnt to a crisp and hard. i do think i just got a bad batch since i watched what other diners were served and they didn't seem burned like mine were. which was why when the server came to clear the plate and saw what was left on my plate i mentioned that i didn't feel the plate should have been served with such a large amount of over done potatoes which she was in agreement with (however she had in fact served it to me and there was no compensation for such). i also had 2 other menu items that i wanted to go at the end of our meal. they came out before we even had our checks and we were still savoring coffee and enjoying a visit so of course by the time i got the meals home they were cold. i had assumed the server would ask if we were ready to have the orders placed rather than just bringing them out unexpected. not a huge deal just something that can be improved on. i will try it out again at some point i'm sure and hope for improvement since i really want to see these two places succeed.

no service, at all.. we tried theyardssaturday but didn't get to try the food. i've read plenty of reviews on this site and others complaining about poor or nonexistent service in spokane but have never experienced a really bad episode myself. this was just bizarre. we (party of three) came in and were told to seat ourselves. we sat at a booth right in the middle of the place, looked at the menu, and waited for a server. a person, evidently not a server, came by with napkins and silverware. our daughter said "i want waffles" and the person said "tell your server". period. ok. we waited some more. the place was about half full and there were 8-10 employees. a lady in the booth next to us stood up and put both arms in the air to get service. not kidding. i thought surely i wouldn't have to this. they got two bloody marys about five minutes later. those were the only ones they made, it's an open space, i could see. anyway, the employees all looked at us but evidently we weren't in anyone's "section"? i don't know. fifteen minutes with no water, coffee, or bloody marys sitting on our table. again, it's an open space. we left.
