yards bruncheon

heard good things about this place. stopped in for lunch, was underwhelmed. the food was tasty but served luke warm. seems expensive for the portions and they try to hide this fact by making it look chic, like pinning the lettuce from the burger i ordered to the top of the bun - this isnt worth an extra $4 to me. . i could see other peoples food sitting at the counter waiting to be served, it sat there for like 15 minutes (tater tots and all). lunch could easily set one back $15-20. maybe should of tried the breakfast options. the coffee sucked...was told that most people love it or hate it...(i have yet to find someone who like burnt bitter coffee) maybe they should find one that everybody likes.. hopefully there are enough doctors, dentists and hipsters in town to keep this place a float. i am sure we will be seeing a groupon soon.

i went today with my two sons, cecile's to try a new ave in town. we waited at the front door for a good 5 mins while a fully staged restaurant ignored us. dirty tables waiting to be cleaned off . it was about 1:30 so the rush was over. but we waited passionately . finally got a almost clean table . so i'm already disappointed! the waiter had no knowledge of the item on the menu i asked about ( very sad)! i will say the food was good , but for a $50 bill for three breakfast with drinks i need good service! i'm in no rush to go back!

fabulously cool place. didn't even miss the riverview. we arrived this morning 5-26 to find a waiting line. no problem as it was a beautiful morning in spokane. we had a short wait. lots of friendly people to visit with. we were soon challenged to choose what to order........so many yummy looking choices.
finally decided on eggs benedict, biscuits and gravy, d-licious carmelized banana pancakes (yum) and the bestest ever maple syrup and bacon waffle. yum yum. oh yes and the green smoothie was large and very good.
gotta go back soon to try the soups, salads and other breakfast items.
love the atmosphere. so urbaneeeee kool.

i loved the food and great service i would go back again. the apple donuts awesome. my husband was impressed as well...we had a great date.

good food if you have time to wait-

place has horrible time management. when we first came in no one greeted us, just a small sign to check-in. after awhile someone informed us it would be a 45 min wait. by 45 mins there were still several parties ahead of us and the who were sat were still waiting for their food. these are definitely signs of mismanagement. good concept for restaurant and food looked good but if there is no time to eat it what is the point of going there. i have been to busy restaurants like this one and they at least ask if you would like water or seat and some time they are really nice and give you something free. feel likes this restaurant needs some help figuring out some stuff. won't reccomend to people

full espresso bar and the best eggs benedict. my new favorite spot. super cute decor and great service. lots of hot sauce. the waffles are amazing.

i have been dying to try this place, not impressed. the food was way over priced! we order the chicken and waffles and the eggs benedict both were mediocre. the hollandaise sauce tasted like pure mayonnaise. the chicken was okay at best, pretty bland. the only item that was good was the waffle which are mini waffles severed under the sliced chicken. i would not recommend this place.

incredibly clean, well decorated but not over stimulating. our food took a bit but it was worth the wait. i got am the avocado and sun dried tomato omelet, amazing! their butter coffee is smooth and delicious it kept me going all day! i will say i wish they had gf waffles/pancakes. we will def be back.

this place is fun and on the right track just not quite there. the portions size was huge... so if you are looking for diner food this is the place. i would have sacrificed quantity for a little more quality. our mimosas tasted lovely and the waitstaff was great.

yards bruncheon has the right idea when it comes to breakfast. the place is warm and inviting and always packed. the staff are friendly and attentive. sadly the food is always disappointing. if only they could just deliver on the flavors they promise.

ordered the donuts with a maple bacon glaze. they came out raw. the second batch was good but did not detect any bacon in the glaze.

i've also had the wild huckelberry pancakes-gummy and flavorless, biscuits & gravy: biscuits dry and dense, gravy was just meh. disappointing. the breakfast burger was just gross.

it is rumored that the food used to be good here. i have not experienced that yet but hope yards can figure it out.

i have been frequenting yard bruncheon since it opened. in a lot of cases i am turned off by modern twists on basic comfort foods, everything sounds great then there is a random off-putting ingredient thrown in. most restaurants that do this(central food, scratch, and casper frys) don't seem to offer something simpler to those who don't have a pallet as adventurous. this is not the case with yards.

the yards offer a great range of flavors from simple to complex, pleasing my simple taste but leaving a door should i feel like exploring. their dishes aren't threatening and don't force me into a situation where i'm eating my dish to be polite.

in regards to the "critic" that didn't like the coffee; you must not drink coffee regularly. i am a coffee drinker, i was overly excited when i moved to washington from california and found that every restaurant serves excellent coffee and the proper strength.

i absolutely love the yards and will continue to return every week for as long as possible. downtown was/is in need of a great breakfast spot, the yards bruncheon was a very welcomed addition to the area.

amazing food!. for a newer restaurant the food was scrumptious and delicious. don't let the newer places detour you because i was lucky to stop by. all 4 of us sat down and were seated within 15 minutes with a bustling eating area. the mimosas do not disappoint along with the lovingly crafted food. their big breakfast, cinnamon pancakes and huckleberry pancakes we're scrumptious. their bacon thick and delicious. but their sourdough. dear lord i'm from san fran and this was some amazing bread. only downer of this eatery is the noise. which i'm not surprised because everyone was complimenting the food and asking to taste their partners meals.

say for 35 minutes with three kids and watched a party cut and seat themselves, nothing was done and we continued to wait, then they say is by the door where our kids froze. food was not worth the awful service. won't be back.

the interesting food doesn't justify the slow service. if only the owners/managers put forth as much effort on training and supervising the severs as they do developing the menu...
