no yin for yang (chow)

the balance for qualityfoodwas not present when we tried yang chow. their yang chow fried rice, a supposed specialty, was gravely disappointing. the beef tenderloin was not tender, it was rubbery. the crab meat soup was so-so. good thing our fried scallop was better. all in all, taste was underwhelming - the savory balance was way off and bland.

another key disappointment were several flies flying around, making our dinner stressful. thankfully, a candle placed by the staff did the trick.

they also forgot to serve our order of hakaw.

just try other places if you’re looking for a good chinese food.

food is absolutely great!

we got the best value for our money, but their service needs a lot of improvement. i read a review of this restaurant before and i remember it made mention of the poor service. i thought maybe because the resto just opened at that time thats why service is still alow, but having experienced it myself yesterday (more than a year after the resto opened), service is indeed poor.

we did not have enough table napkins,foodservers were not smiling and appears to be in a hurry and inattentive when taking our order. they even made a mistake on the bill, they charged us more, the ink on the receipt is even difficult to read.


so, i am giving a rating of 3 for this branch. i hope their service gets better.

this restaurant used to be a go-to place of my family. we loved eating here and we even spent some special ocassions in this restaurant. but i can't remember when it exactly started but there has been some changes. first, the prices had increased. it'll be fine if the serving size was still the same, but their serving size got smaller as well. thefoodisn't as good as it used to be and the place seems a little dirty as well. now, our family doesn't eat here anymore and it's sad because i really miss the taste of thefoodthey used to serve.

my family and i used to love going to this place. each time we went home satisfied. but there seemed to be several changes in theirfoodpreparation. the spareribs wasn’t coated. the salt and pepper squid serving has gotten tiny. the prawn with salted egg was served with salad, totally unexpected. the place wasn’t packed but the floors were dirty. the quality of the of the place and the service has gone south in a short time. sad.

this will our be last time eating in yang chow masinag due to the following reasons.

1. i’m with my 2 grandparents, (both in their late 70’s) my lola was using her baston because its very hard for her to walk, so she told the servers we should sit near the door para it would be easy for her kasi konting lakad lang but the server said, the area is still closed and asked us to sit at the other side which is ang layo for my lola but no choice kasi they don’t care if she walks pa ng malayo.
2. staffs are not friendly at all. even the manager. lahat nakasimangot. so in short, ang pangit ng aura sa resto.
3. we ordered before 4pm, we ordered 3 main dishes, 3 dimsum, 1 fried rice and soup. guess what? we have waited for 1 hour before dumating yungfoodwith numerous follow ups, no kidding, mga 5x.
4. ourfoodwas served, take note, ang lamig ng food. walang kainit init! so super na disappoint kami, after waiting for an hour, hindi pa mainit yung food. wala nga kaming kasabay umorder because pag dating namin, kumakain na yung ibang mga tao.

will not come back again, kahit saang branches nila. i wish you have 0 because mas ok yun kesa irate ng 1. mataas pa yung 1 for our experience.

however good they claim thefoodis, another place will be better, and you can get thefoodelsewhere. the service is that awful.

no one will welcome you when you come in. you will have to wait for so long for someone to take your order. they do not smile. they make it feel like asking them for anything is super bothersome. and when there is someone else who just came in who are probably someone they know, or someone rich, they will ask that table’s order first, even if the people are right next to you and it’s so obvious that they just arrived, and even if you’ve been getting their attention and being actually told to “wait” for fifteen minutes already.

seriously. either they’re undermanned, or they’re so confident with their patrons already that they don’t need new ones, so it’s okay for them to treat new and unfamiliar guests so terribly. we have never been so disappointed and insulted in a restaurant as we were in yang chow masinag.

i would rate it 0 or a negative if i could, honestly, and i definitely do not recommend it. i wouldn’t wish that treatment to anyone.

once in a while we come to this place for good chinese food... i love dimsum and this place is very close to our home we could just walk.. at first visit when it just opened years ago really made me happy..foodwas superb and very affordable.. but for some reasons i don't know, their staff were really bad as far as customer service is concern... no one would welcome you with a smile... but i was able to tolerate all of that for the sake of having a good meal... until my last visit, feb 12, 2018.

we came in a little early for dinner around 5pm. just with 1 table occupied by 4 men.. i was with my whole family theres 8 of us.. being a little fuzzy because we came from the hospital across the highway, i waved my hand like asking for a menu which is a mistake because the menu are the paper mats in our table and that was a stupid mistake on my part and the lady who was unique among others wearing her usual black coat came.. i dont know if she felt bad with the way i waived my hand but when she came she stand behind me, turned her back facing the opposite direction while taking my orders... my whole family were a bit crazy because its too hot in the place as all of their aircons were off so when i asked what they want they all answered aircon. the lady standing behind me who cant even take my orders facing me was really rude. her tone while talking to me was as if i woke her up from her good sleep and against her will i dragged her out and made her take my orders.. she repeated our order in the most irritated tone ive ever heard. when i had enough of her grit i asked "hija ok ka lng?" she responded in the most disrespectful tone "ok na mam!!!" - not in a question tone and left.

as an hrm graduate we were thought that we belong in the hospitality industry. whether you're in a bad mood or recently faced a heartbreak, you need to leave everything behind and serve people with a smile. i am not asking for that. but i expect that you treat me the way a normal human being should be treated. that time i just wanted to cancel our orders and go to a different restaurant instead. my dad and my dad in law just joked and said maybe she doen't have a date for valentines and laughed it out...

customers will never expect to be treated like royalties but at least be given a warm welcome which is normally practiced with a smile or a greeting like simple "good afternoon".. that wasn't given to us. and i dont know if that is too much to ask..

when ourfoodwas was being served, this time by another lady with the black and red apron uniform, she served us with a free dimpled smile.. finally someone made us feel we were welcome. she accomodated our requests, facilitated our extra orders and additonal for take outs and all through out she smiled... even i didnt catch her name, she is the only reason why im giving this review a 3.0... with her serving our meals and with the goodfoodthat comes with it she deserves it..

service - definitely needs improvement.. im actually considering bad management by now because ive seen different staff come and go over the years but the attitude remains the same.. maybe theres something seriously wrong here..

am i coming back - perhaps not in a little while, i guess...

thefoodis good but the staff doesn't smile. when you ask for water, they just nod. they are not very corteous accommodating. not so good customer service.

goodfood- freshly prepared and ample servings (mostly good for 2). good ambiance - quiet and nice interiors. service took a while, though, even if there were only a few customers. customer service needs a lot of work.

prices are reasonable but i won't say that theirfoodis great.

their soya chicken, oyter pancake and salt and pepper spareribs are dry.

except for this one guy whose name i wasn't able to get, the wait staff are really rude.

good ambience though.

all in all, i won"t come back.

so today we ordered chicken noodles, bola bola congee, extra raw egg, asado siopao, and mango shake. everything was served on time but the congee. we we're done with all ourfoodwhen i noticed the congee has not yet been served. i asked for a follow-up, i learned that they haven't punched our order! the raw egg was already on our table and yet the waiter did not punch the congee! i asked the waiter what will i do with the egg without the congee, he couldn't answer. common sense is not so common these days.

went here couple of weeks ago with our whole family including some friends after we had our yearly out reach at manila boystown in marikina. thefoodwas amazing, their shrimp dumpling was over the top and their chicken is so flavorful. unfortunately, the only thing that was disappointing is the shitty service. yes. they kept on ignoring us even if there are only few customers in the restaurant, their waitresses are not very professional and not accommodating. might have been a nice dining experience if only their staff knows how to provide efficient and good customer service.

yang chow dimsum is located in masinag near after wilcon depot. my family and i tried this resto for lunch today. the place is huge and nice and has private rooms (usual chinese style). in it is a nice small coffee shop which is also owned by them. we tried their yang chow rice and 3 viands. i would rate thefood4.5 because they really tasted great and exceeded my expectations in terms of tastiness and serving. however, the service and the attitude of their staff really disappointed me. to the management, i wouldn't detail what happened but please orient and train well your staffs. we also tried to chill in their coffee shop right after meal and tried their cake, pastries, and coffee drinks. all i can say is, i'll never go back and dine there again. but still try the resto because they have great menu.

this the first time i have been here but jaycee had been here for several times already. they have a pleasant and welcoming ambiance. for thefoodit was okay nothing special compare with other chinese resto. most of their serving is good for 2 to 4 person and the price is quite affordable. the only thing we don't like they have a slow serving.

we celebrated my father's birthday here yesterday. there were 12 of us and since we are a family of big eaters we ordered the following:
chicken feet- 4 orders
shrimp siomai- 2 orders
sharksfin dumplings- 1 order
yang chow fried rice- 4 orders
sweet & sour pork- 2 orders
beef with broccoli- 2 orders
nido soup- 1 order
birthday noodles- 1 order
golden fried chicken- 1 order
shanghai spring rolls- 1 order

we enjoyed their dimsums especially the shrimp siomai because its so tasty. we liked everything that we ordered. the only negative i can say about theirfoodis that their servings are quite small.

service wise, our server was quite friendly amd accomodating.

i find their interiors and decors impressive.

the next time we crave for chinese foods, we will definitely be back here.
