xs-the place to be

went with my friends to xs for couple of drinks. one of the best pubs in guwahati. the bar counter is fully wooden most of the walls are wooden so it gives you the english pub feel. the dj played good music which is always a thumbs up. their staff was very polite and well trained. xs definitely raises the standard of pub/restro loungein guwahati . you can compare this joint with pub of the metro cities. they have a well stocked bar. you get a lot of choice from their bar menu. but their services was very slow. we waited for more than half an hour for our starters.

my girlfriend order a mocktail some strawberry flavored drink. i didn't paid attention to the drink's name but i did tried it and it was good. for starters got somechickenwings and nachos. wings was good but nachos was ok. i have had better. for mains i got a pizza which was again not that great. the crust was very hard.
if you want to visit a cool english pub looking place and take some selfies and have some drinks xs is the place to be. but if you want good food xs is not the place to be, yet!

service 2.5/5 though they are well trained and polite but they are very slow.

xs the pub themed restaurant, which looks amazing and gives you a feel of an irish pub and great place to go in guwahati.

the menu has mix of indian , continental and italian food .
i ordered the tandoori mushroom which was great . the dahi kebab was ok and nothing special. do call for thechickensalad which was good and the black dal and nan was great too.
the aglio olio was a surprising good and a must try.

their alcohol license just got revoked so no drinks. but a good place for food.

if your in guwahati do give it a try.

well the place has really nice interiors and the booze and food is really good when it comes to the quantity compared to the price .
we had ordered achickenpasta , and it easily served as the dinner for the three of us . as we friends were there to celebrate a special evening , we wanted to dance , and therefore we choose this place , as we had heard it had good music ..
but i felt a bit disappointed as , at around 8 in the evening itself they were paying loud music , making it very difficult to hear even the person sitting beside us ..

so , i would have been happier if the loudness could be meloded down a bit , during the very beginning of the night.but if someone wants to really enjoy at xs , i would suggest coming in at around 9 or after , that's when the music and the ambience are at its best !!
though i didnt like the food ...

very friendly staff and even though went on a monday they made it a memorable one for us. ranjan is one of the most courteous and friendly bartender with a smile always. the devilschickenis a good one for starters and i would recommendchickendum biriyani, raita is yum as well. all in all a good place plus it's kids friendly.

the ambience is good. we visited the place on a afternoon so it was not crowded. service is slow but quality of the food is good. we ordered couple of disheschickenwith basil and bird chilly, chilli garlic butter prawns, murgh anari seekh kebabs and pork dry fry. the best one was chilli garlic butter prawns. murgh anari seekh kebab was very dry. pork dry fry was cooked well but very sweet. music was alright.

the best thing about this place is the interior which is really specious and has lots of wooden touch which really gives a feel of elegance. the lights add a certain charm to the ambience which perfectly gets you in the mood.

but apart from that everything else is just very ordinary.
overpriced? yes.
does it justify? i dont think so.

the staffs really don't care about the patrons and won't even ask before adding a particular item to your bill. you will only know about it at the time of making payment. you have to call a staff multiple times and even then will he come to you or not depends on his mood.

if you ask for indian beers from the menu, they won't have it. only the pricy ones. probably cheap beers aren't very profitable for them. no kingfisher or tuborg or fosters or miller. we had hoegaarden which was 395 a pint, green apple martini, budweiser, smirnoff, cosmopolitan, mongolian slow fried chicken,chickenwith basil and bird chilli. we also got complementary salted peanuts.

the dj came while we were there. he looked like a college kid with a backpack. went to his turntable, started playing a predefined playlist and then sat on the bar to have some drinks. one funny thing happened, a bunch of young guys and girls came in, sat there for like 20 minutes, danced on the floor, clicked pictures and left without ordering anything.

the serving staff is very good, very friendly. we had ordered mongolian slow fried chicken, skewered lamb dumplings, hawaiianchickenpizza and smoked barbecue wings. the highlights were the pizza and the slow fried chicken. the smoked barbecue wings were not smoked though. they were cooked in chinese spices. it tasted good but it wasn’t smoked, neither was there any barbecue sauce. apart from that the place has a good ambience. the drinks are good too, whatever we tried. the music is more on the louder side. overall, the experience was good.

great ambience, good service, good place to hang out with friends, my fav food was theirchickenlasagna. fish &chips was good too. pastas were average , overall a good place .

nice ambience. had a wide range to choose your beverages from their menu. food was great. i ordered achickenstarter and an ice tea and a blueberry cheesecake which was heavenly.

the ambience is beautiful.. and thechickennachos are to die for. but the lasagne and pasta had achickenbutter masala sort of taste and i personally did not like it

last saturday i went there with my brothers & sisters for party...

places is very small for dj party...
the dj was from kolkata mr. bose
but with him other dj was my friends ( dj prem, dj freak)

though a lot have been written about this place, still as being a special day today i choose to write about it ☺☺ cool place, nice music, great ambience and ofcourse lovely food 🍲 😀 the food complemented perfectly with the drinks 🍸🍸🍻 orderedchickensatay for starters which was quite moist and the complementary chutney totally synchronised with it 🍜the peperoni pizza 🍕 and the smokedchickensandwich was made to perfection 😄😄 thus all in all a wonderful symphony for the evening 😎😎😗😗

well,guwahati has evolved in terms of the pubbing scene.with xs, guwahati can definetely compete with pubs of the metros where ambiance and architecture is concerned. the whole wooden feel to the entire girth of the place evokes a certain class and gives you the feel of an english pub perhaps.dark and rusty,chic yet massy,it has all the qualities of a fantastic restro bar cum pub. for a city like guwahati, this is definetely good.
like a typical pub,this one is not for a dine out session but a place to chill out with friends under some loud and elecyrifying music. with their inhouse dj, the music is loud and gives way to a frenzied atmosphere during weekends.
food is decent with regular bar snacks while mocktails need a special recomendation.chickensatay was excellent in taste as well.i dont really crib about bar snacks unless it is way below standard, when mostly the idea is to go out and enjoy the music . in that sense i dont have anything to complain.
if you are a first timer to guwahati then xs bar is definetely a place that deserves a visit for its vibrancy and class.

xs is a good place to hang out with friends, the drinks are moderately priced and they have a good ambience and vintage feel👌. we ordered nachos which were okay that came with 3 dips
😊,chickenburger which was good. it came with a good plate of fries that were crisped to perfection. 😍 i loved theirchickenbrucheta 😁 which had oodles of melt in the mouth cheese and spicedchickenchunks
👍 cooked to perfection. all in all my favourite food of the night. our last order was a vegetable margarita pizza which was spiced with basil and oregano. i liked the thin crust of the pizza but it lacked in the veggie department.
