brand new. i went there after a movie at the crosswoods because i noticed they were new. located in the old bw3 space, they haven't changed the decor, layout or furniture (besides some paint). good sauerkraut balls but with more potato then i'm used to. not all the menu was available, and our waitress was attentive but very inexperienced. no lack of effort on her part though.

the knockwurst sandwich i ordered (with kraut and carmelized onion) was immense and very tasty. very good, very large bun, good kraut. authentic german mashed potatoes. very goodbeerselection, fairly priced.

but they had french's mustard out on the tables. given the german theme why use the yellow stuff when a good german brown mustard would cost little more and fit the theme much better? i asked for and received brown mustard, but really this is a detail they should fix.

extensivebeerselection. stopped in today, their second day of operation. sports bar theme.beerselection is extensive including many german beers on tap. decent menu, heavy on brats. i had a beef brat "currywurst" style. large, well seasoned brat with bbq sauce sprinkled with curry powder. the combination works well. adam the bartender was very knowledgeable about thebeerselections and attentive. pricing is not out of line, but it isn't exactly cheap either. the freshly baked german pretzel was awesome. overall i was impressed. give them a try.

i'm sorry to say but wurst und bier has lost a little of their shine and luster for me. on my last visit i chose not to sit at the bar, which was a mistake. the bench seating is most uncomfortable and our server was mildly sassy and slow. maybe she was having a bad day. ordered the veal schnitzel which while not bad wasn't worth the $17 price. the obazda appetizer again was awesome. i'm not removing my like it vote but in the future i will sit at the bar, stick to the brats and sausages and always order the obazda appetizer. the freshly baked pretzel with german cheese spread is the best item on the menu.

not very good.... we stopped by friday night and had very good service. however, the food did not live up to expectations. my brat was dry and tough and the flatbreads were just ok.beerwas good.

not worth fighting the traffic on st rt 23.

munich beers on tap in columbus?. the only place in town i know of that you can get real munichbeeron draft! while thats enough for me, i realize that others may want to know about the food. so, here goes: pretzels- decent yet way overpriced. falls short when compared to bavarian pretzels, but hey- we are not in bavaria. sausages- pretty tasty, i recommend any of them. other stuff- ok, nothing to write home about. saurkraut balls- not good.

i was skeptical but i went and it was awesome.
i got the sausage plate. both sausages were good so was the sauerkraut. the mashed potatoes needed some salt and pepper though. my partner got the fish and chips, they were totally awesome! greatbeerselection and a great server as well.

a pearl of wisdom. throughout my 69 reviews of bloviating a few pearls of wisdom can be found. wurst and bier serves great brats andbeerwith dizzying amounts of variety; and for an inveterate dog lover like myself that's a very good thing. the hot italian sausage nestled in sauerkrat and a bun was marvelous, chockfull of spicy flavor and tenderness. but the major discovery here is the spicy mustard (lowensenf extra hot mustard). on my inaugural taste i could not have imagined a better mustard. it packed lots of flavor and heat and was the lynchpin in bringing this bratwurst dog to life and best of all, many vendors on line sell it.

nothing special, lacks flavor, worth the drive to schmidts. we figured that we would try it out tonight. probably won't return....not because it was absolutely terrible but just because it wasn't that great. the atmosphere is just so-so. the food was bland. we ordered sauerkraut balls. they were mostly mashed potato without much flavor. i ordered a brat that came out half raw. i understand that it is a new restaurant and things aren't quite down pat yet. however, we couldn't locate our waitress until my boyfriend was 2/3 of the way done with his meal. she never came back to check to be sure the food came out okay. when we brought it to our servers attention, she was very nice and apologetic. the owner did come over to offer freebeerand dessert. so that was nice, but he otherwise didn't introduce himself or ask how everything else was or make any other sort of small talk. the second brat come out much better, but hard to enjoy it when there is a long wait for tables and the rest of my party is done eating. the german potato salad was a cold version that i was not expecting and the flavor was odd. the sauerkraut flavor and brat flavor was just average. nothing spectacular. the bun on the brat was way too huge and very crusty. i pulled 1/3 of the bread off. once of the toppings offered was hot peppers. however, they came out as red bell peppers with slight seasoning on them. just not what i would expect.

i think we'll definitely make the trip down the schmidt's for our german food. we can make this caliber of brat and potato salad at home...with more flavor.

really tasty german food. although the service staff is still a little inexperienced, the kitchen staff is not. the food we had here was greaet. the large pretzel with cheese was wonderful. all of the sausages and burgers we had were wonderful. thebeerselection was more than anyone in out group expected- fairly priced as well. all in all a great restaurant!
