scrumpdelumiously great. i am a virginia beach native and was first introduced to wicker's in the winter of 2011. i'm a real critic on crab cakes since duck inn closed but i have to say wicker's is my all time favorite (even over duck inn!!!). i am real fastidious about seafood and i love soft shell crabs, oysters, scallops,shrimp and tuna. this is the only restaurant i can find soft. she'll crabs out of season and they are always delicious. the hush puppies are great, the she crab soup, tuna bites, oysters, shrimp, scallops are all superb! the wait staff are all like family the atmosphere takes mebackto my cottage in corova beach i n.c. so friendly, warm atmosphere, and it's not a hotsy totsy space. so i think those bad reviewers need to k.m.a. and gobackto marina shores. this is truly a superb local dining experience, i take my family (form the shenandoah mountains here) and my local family it is the top of our list. debbie and the entire wait staff make you feel like family. i love wicker's and am telling everybody about it. they are a five star seafood family restaurant. i also remember buying seafood from them with my mom and dad when i was a kid (before the restaurant). oops! i guess i am giving my age away, i have traveled a great deal thought the u.s., puerto rico, the bahamas, grenada, mexico, hawaii and i have to say for great seafood there is no place like home at wicker's. love it! love it!!!!!!!!

lunch was yummo !.backhome from having lunch with my sisters, diana and deborah, at wicker's seafood. celebrating didi's birthday. lunch was great, we all tried something different. deb's scallop basket was delicious, as well as didi's soft shell sandwich and my crabcake sandwich, all served with homemade potato chips. great fresh seafood and service. will try again, very tasty seafood and hush puppies were yummo. we talked about the old days when our parents would drive to the wicker family's channel crab business when we were children. we are all in our 60's now but those memories still remain, you can't forget "good places to get virginia crab"

you steam open your raw oysters?? wtf??. we went here for raw oysters and some crabs and we were kinda disappointed. when we ordered we asked for 2 dozen oysters...when the order came out i was hit with this smell of bad seafood, that's when i realized that the oysters were hot (steamed) so i said to the waitress (who was also the bartender) we wanted raw oysters. she gave us an attitude and said well you should've asked for raw...i just assumed you wanted steamed. so 10 min later she comesbackwith 2 more doz and this time they are warm???? so i ask her why they are warm...she said they don't have someone to shuck them so they put them in the steamer for less than a minute. my husband and i are not having it so we send thembackagain!! now the manager/cook comes out and we explain the situation...he said that's how they do things. why the hell would you offer raw oysters and not have someone to shuck them??? the crabs were good but they are crabs...steam them up and throw on some ole' bay and your done...i don't know if we will bebackto try the inside restaurant. needless to say we were so disappointed!!

will definitely go back. we had a large group, took my dad and stepmom there while they were visiting here from fl. the restaurant was busy (all tables full). yet, we received excellent and prompt service. the food was hot and delicious. loved the atmosphere of the place, very cozy and family oriented. our waitress, debbie, who was also a member of the wicker's family, was excellent and fun. we had 10 people in our group, so our orders varied, and even with all of the business in the restaurant and all of our different orders, we still received everything quickly, and without any mix-ups. debbie was very personable and made us all feel so welcome. we definitely will gobackfor the all you can eat crabs (you have to eat them outside). our family shared a bite from each of our plates so we could get a little taste of everything, and all was seasoned just right and cooked to perfection!!! what a hidden gem in chesapeake!!! really loved it!! ps. the crabcakes were the best (no filler); just yummy lump crab meat.

we walked into a warm, friendly atmosphere and were promptly seated at a nice window table. our waitress sarah immediatly got our drink orders and told the specials. i ended up ordering the outstanding she crab soup and the fresh crab with butter, while my husband ordered the oysters rockefeller and the wicker steam pot. everything had that fresh caught then cooked taste and our waitress couldn't have been sweeter or more well informed. we will continue to comebackand tell all of our friends!

oh, so delicious!! the staff was very friendly and attentive. as another reviewer noted, the place is not fancy but feels homey and welcoming, which was just what we were looking for. the food was great!! the hush puppies were the best i've had. i had the steak & fried shrimp special. the steak was done just the way i like it and was very tender. the fried shrimp had a light flour coating which was light & crisp. my husband had the seafood platter with shrimp, scallops, oysters, flounder & a crab cake. he kept saying how delicious it was and that the crab cake was the best he'd ever had. our daughter had the flounder dinner which was very tender and juicy. all of the seafood was very fresh and not fishy in any way. so good! price-wise, we paid $66 (before tip) for everything including soft drinks, which is quite reasonable for such a great dinner. if we lived in the area, we would come to wickers often. we'll definitely comebackthe next time we're in the va beach area.

good seafood fair prices. they have the bestbackfin she-crab soup in the area. the service is nice and the food is generally quality.

i have noticed that portions are getting smaller compared to last year and i hope they do not start rising prices.

great local seafood!. this is the place to come if you're looking for a great atmosphere, great food, and want to get away from the chain restaurants. debbie welcomed us and treated us like family. this is a small family owned restaurant with a cozy inside dining area, or you can opt for the patio seating...we ate inside and as we were leaving we walked by the outside patio where customers were enjoying fresh steamed local blue crab and a live band. yet another reason for us to gobacksoon! you have to try the crab dip appetizer and the "sea bisciuts".

killer crab cake i forget to mention. very possibly the best one yet.

laidbackand very cool. this place has a great she crab soup. the chili was really good navy bean chicken and shrimp. the seafood was fresh oysters a little small for this time of year. staff was super nice. pretty good jeans and a polo type place. we will bebacksoon before it gets so popular we can't get a table.
