wicked weed brewing

tasty brews, nice outdoor seating. tried a chocolately ipa- was nervous to try it but it was delicious! not an overwhelmingly hoppy ipa, and had a slightly sweet aftertaste. my friend who doesn't usually like ipas because they are too hoppy liked it. also, nice outdoor seating around a big fire pit!

food was great and came out extremely fast. would come back here again. fun atmosphere. husband had a flight of beers and there was a large variety to choose from. he liked them all.

great creative craft beer! this place came recommended by my buddy's brother who is opening a brewery in asheville. fun atmosphere in warehouse-like seating with partially open wall to let in fresh breeze. the funkatorium featured the best sour we have ever had! the sour garcon de ferme is fermented with peaches so is cloudy but not overly fruity since it peaches weren't added after fermentation. the level of sourness was perfect. the coolcumber beer (cucumbers, basil and juniper berries) was released today and they provided samples but it was a bit too herby for me. the pernicious ipa is an award winner and deservingly so. think mango and creamy ipa that is hop forward but balanced. the food is good too and much better than typical bar food. we had the mortadela sandwich which was made with focaccia bread with hot capiocilla, smoked provolone and olive tapenade. the fries are good and they have some aoli options which werent highlighted but the chipolte aoli was good with the fries. my daughter ordered the mac and cheese which was gormet!. lots of good cheese and a pool of butter/oil at bottom of bowl.

rude.. the hostess sat us in front of the kitchen door. i politely asked if we could sit somewhere else.
she said no. i asked the server if we could sit elsewhere and he said no problem. the hostess gave us mean looks the whole time making it a very unpleasant experience. the food was fair at best. the beer was pretty good, but not worth feeling uncomfortable good.

good beer. terrible service! the servers don't need your business because it's a tourist trap so they treat locals accordingly.

tried to get a table to order an app with our beer but they wouldn't give us a table because they were being held for diners--there weren't all that many. it was like 4ish on a weekday. rules are rules and i guess they know what they're doing. that was mildly off-putting, but ultimately we had a good time and good service and outstanding beer.

great customer service!. despite being delivered the wrong order, the staff were pleasant and took care of it immediately. our waiter was awesome. the only complaint i have is the metal chairs were uncomfortable, but food, atmosphere, and beer was all great!

excellent. if your looking for somewhere with excellent service atmosphere drink and food this is the place ... lobster avocado burger amazing , wish i lived closer .

this place was suggested to us by the staff at our hotel. if you are going for the beers its a great choice. i suggest eating somewhere else on the way there. our server was very nice, but incapable of getting our order correct. i ordered the bison burger medium well. it arrived with a burnt exterior and a bloody core. my daughters turkey and cheese arrived with cranberry despite asking to have it without. the server suggested that we go ahead and pick it off "there really isn't that much". drinking here is fine, just drink enough not to care about your food.

this place is great. atmosphere, food, beer, service...what else could you want?!!

only stayed in asheville 3 nights and ate here twice. delicious and love the outdoor seating. very dog friendly too.

i just wanted to put my "2 cents" in about my visit today. my fiance & i were told to try this place out while we were in town today so we did. mind you, we had our almost 2 year old with us as we had just been to the arborteum. upon arrival we were greeted by less a than thrilled hostess who proceeded to seat us. yes, we asked for a highchair. no issues there. i was not under the impression that there would be children's menus if there were highchairs...but there were no children's menus...at all. this may not be a place for kid's all of the time but there should at least be the option of those menus especially if you charge your guests for the food you order for them. when our server finally showed up, she was very quiet, did not seem like she wanted to be there at all & didn't even offer to get our son anything to eat, much less give me a chance to ask for anything for him. just took our order & left. we had the plantain chips to start & those were stale & bland & just downright disgusting. so disgusting my son wouldn't even eat one & he loves anything resembling chips. i was finally able to get her attention so that she could take the chips away & so i could ask for a grilled cheese for our son. we got our food, my bison burger was dry & cold but the coleslaw on it was a nice enough touch to cover that issue up. my fiance's burger seemed ok. the grilled cheese was way too big to be considered a kid's grilled cheese but that's what it was labeled as on the receipt. i have been in the food service industry for almost 10 years & i observe my surroundings at restaurants all the time because i want to leave the proper tip & the proper review just as i would expect others to do. the place itself is nice. i like the industrial feel to it. the servers i observed around me though were not at all interested in their guests & did not seem at all knowledgable about the menu. i could not even see any managers walking around to check on guests. i saw the hostesses "shootin' the bull".

great beers and delicious food. try a brew from the funkatorium! mostly american fare and locally brewed beer. wood and industrial accents with a welcoming, cozy atmosphere.

great place!! awesome music played the whole time! food was very good!! would go back!! u do have to wait and there is not a lot of room as it feels kinda squashed in like sardines :( but otherwise a great spot!
