great house salad! goddess dressing on greens with pickled onions, goat cheese, and grilled pineapple. i was sorry the brussels sprouts left the menu, but this was almost as good.

my wife and i went to wicked weed during our trip to asheville just to piss off a friend of mine who wants to boycott all craft breweries who sell out to larger interests.  we were there just a couple three weeks after a-b/inbev bought wicked weed, but by the size of the crowd there that evening i don't think a lot of those people cared that a mega-brewery had picked off another craft brewery.   we both got the pernicious american ipa that we both thought were pretty good.  we really wanted to have something to snack on, but the menu was pretty light on what we deemed as worthy snackable items.  plus, it was so busy in the place (memorial day weekend sunday night), it was almost impossible to get any food sitting at the bar.  we eventually made it out to the beer garden in front of the place and listened to two brothers - aged 8 and 11 - who were busking out on the sidewalk in front of wicked weed.  they were actually very good performers.  we were talking to their father who said that they were taught via lessons, but the style of music they were playing - everything from 60's pop to 90's rock - was heavily influenced by the father.  wicked weed was a great place to start our beer tour of asheville, although it was almost too crowded.

every time i have been here i have had a blast. they've always got a new beers the atmosphere is on point. there's two stories. downstairs they have an outside patio upstairs is more for dining and wining and then the large bar. the layout is great. it's a lot of fun to go on the weekends and meet new people very friendly atmosphere. and if you see the french toast beer, don't hesitate. get it. you won't regret it.

went here for drinks and the nightlife and was not disappointed. large and fun crowd and seemed like a popular place to be for a saturday night. their homemade beers on tap are really well made and i enjoyed the orange pale ale most of all. would definitely go back.

love the atmosphere and beer here. food was slightly above general pub food. service was good and enjoyed the playlist. the brussel sprouts were really tasted but needed salt. the meatloaf was a little too dense and again thought the side needed salt. the kimchi completely overpowered my husband's chicken sandwich but the hash was quite good.

beef tartare was fantastic. served on toast with capers and what tasted like horseradish mayo. fried chicken sandwich was decent. would suggest sticking with sours for beers.

this is the second time i've been and i really enjoyed both visits. the food is really very good. i had the bison burger with blue cheese slaw and my husband had the fried chicken sandwich with kimchi. interesting and tasty. previous visit we had the cheese plate which had a nice assortment. i am not a huge beer drinker but my husband really enjoyed the few he tried. the waiter helped me choose a beer i would enjoy. very knowledgeable about the product.
the service is very friendly and efficient. the atmosphere is a little loud and you will wait to get in, do go early.

plastered on wicked weed ‘s wall on the stairway down to the tasting room is, “hops are a wicked and pernicious weed.” –king henry viii. wicked weed brewing proves king henry wrong with their hop-forward, creative, flavorful beers. what started in a basement is now one of the most popular breweries in asheville; home to a restaurant serving elegant bar food, a tasting room downstairs, and the newly opened location down the street, the wicked weed funkatorium (a newly opened–about a week after our visit–sour tasting room, serving up sour and farmhouse style ales in a belgian bar environment) . this was my second visit to wicked weed (my first was just for a beer after the asheville 10k last june). lesley and i beelined straight for a picnic table in the fall sunshine outside of wicked weed’s downstairs tasting room. we   sampled a few beers at wicked weed.  wicked weed made four pumpkin beers this year, and i tried two, pumpk anne, their interpretation of a classic pumpkin beer, spiced with a blend of cinnamon, vanilla, nutmeg and allspice and  burning ham pumpkin porter.

they had good fish and chips and a good burger. the beer we ordered was not great, but that was just personal preference. i would encourage them to write their beer menu on the wall downstairs legibly, it was incredibly hard to read. also it's a little odd how you can't pay for your tab upstairs. overall a cool place, we will be back!

great atmosphere, good beer, ok food. my husband and i stopped here on our way through the area after looking up microbreweries on urbanspoon with good ratings. we absolutely loved the decor. i, myself, am not a huge beer fan but my husband loved all the beers on his flight of 6 ($9.95). the food was pretty good but nothing we'd probably be back for even if we were locals. we ordered the turkey, brie, and peach sandwich and the bison burger. my husband was disappointed in his sandwich - no peach flavor and tasteless deli turkey. my bison burger was good but nothing to rave about. we would definitely make this a regular evening hangout spot if we lived in the area though for beer and maybe a snack, but wouldn't return for a meal.
