not your typical pub. awesome menu and a great beer selection. do yourself a favor, ask for samples and get the bison burger.

wicked weed is a great place to end up on any day of the week. sure, it’s a microbrewery…but it’s swankily decorated and has a creative menu that’s veg-friendly (sometimes hard to find in a brewery). oddly enough, i usually end up here for dessert (hence the picture), and let me tell you, their dessert is no joke. it’s worth it all on its own! i’m not a beer drinker, but my husband is and this is one of his favorite microbreweries in town. add to that equation their sunny downstairs patio out back and their generous fire pit out front, and you have a truly choice establishment here for pretty much anyone in your party.

it's a brew pub. the guy below me with the kid, as an avid supporter and wicked weed enthusiast, i am sorry your experience was sub par. again, it's a brew pub. they don't market themselves as a restaurant. they do have great food, but it's - at the heart and soul - a place to experience unique and delicious beer. wait staff can be temperamental; you've worked in the industry. you chose to overlook the servers that i know, first hand, are fantastic. if you're there to try their in-house brewed beers or sit downstairs and enjoy a meal, that's the way to go. anybody who reads the next review, be mindful that the issue was taking a kid to a brewery. wicked weed, do yourself a favor and add some kid friendly options - but come on, guy. what did you expect?

a solid 7. i love the king henry theme, but overall we thought the atmosphere had a little too much of a corporate/restaurant feel. that being said the tasting room was closed so we ended up at the bar in the restaurant. since we were on a beer tasting trip we tried the la peche blanc, an apricot and peach saison. it was phenomenal, even cody who isn't big on fruit beer enjoyed it. the waitress was quick and friendly, even bringing us pretzals since we weren't ordering food this trip. the food looked great and it was packed on a tuesday afternoon. i'm a bit of a brewery purist and places like this give me the impression they're more about making money than brewing good beer, but you'll get to complaints out of me. the quality of the beer was spot on and the service was great. we overall liked it but its not on the "absolutely and without a doubt, will go back" list just yet.

beer heaven!. i've had so many beers here, and haven't yet tried them all. not every one is a hit, but they are all interesting. saisons, sours, wits...a beer lover's paradise. some of the beers have a higher alcohol content, so pay attention!

the house chips are delicious and the artisinal cheese platter was really good. i've also had the veggie sandwich:hummus, cukes, naan-simple, but just what i wanted. one of these days we will go for a full dinner, because the menu looks intriguing. not your typical pub fare.

i love the atmosphere and the location. service so far has been top notch. this is one of our favorite hangouts when friends come to town. the best spot is out front for people-watching. but downstairs they have more beer selections, the brewery, and more outdoor seating. i really like this place, other than the fact that it's always so busy!

beer is okay, popcorn is sooo stale-do not order it, other food okay, and hostesses horrible. they wouldn't let us sit at a booth at 5pm to eat when the place was empty and the booths remained empty the entire time we were there...

good beer, skimpy on the food. great beer and vibe (very crowded, expect a wait) and a fun atmosphere. i have been several times but this was the first time we ate there. brussels sprouts were excellent. i had the smoked trout lettuce wedge and there was literally maybe a spoonful of shredded trout. they could've been a bit more generous with that.

king henry viii’s crowning jewel. in a land of top-notch craft beer and delicious food, wicked weed may be the best of both worlds. lab still holds as one of my favorite brewpubs in the area, but this relative newcomer is making a case for themselves, in part due to extensive seating upstairs and outside, plus a large tasting room/patio downstairs. certainly a great option for either drinks or a meal. - -

complimentary pretzels area nice touch, but don’t let that prevent you from trying one of the small bites or appetizers. this visit we skipped straight to the meal and were impressed with an artfully presented salad and a mouthwatering burger. all the staples you would expect, but prepared with a real eye for detail and brewpub/gastropub authenticity. - -

exposed brick and high ceilings contribute to the fun atmosphere and i even appreciated the king/queen labels on the bathroom doors. after we finished our meal, we went downstairs to try more of their amazing beers and pay a couple games of corn hole. there are a lot of breweries on the must visit list in asheville and wicked weed has secured a spot on my list, without question.

wicked weed brewing was just awesome as the last time we were there. they have a very ambitious beer list (duke's assessment, not mine) with a ton of offerings. their food remains top-notch. we both opted for burgers given it was lunchtime, and i chose the weed burger: beef burger + pimento cheese + cheddar salt pork rinds + red onion marmalade. on a bun i could tell was baked that day. with crispy delicious fries.

it was just so perfectly executed once again. and even though it was 3:30pm on a saturday, the place was jam-packed with people. they had a fire pit outside too.

great food - great beer. we spend a week in asheville for "leaf season" every october and this year the wicked weed was our "go to" place for dinner and a few pints. over the course of 4 visits we sampled our way across both the food and beer menu and everything we tried was simply awesome. not sure where the complaints about the service come from as we found it to be quite satisfactory on each of our visits. i would give this place a solid 5/5 star rating.

as for the food, we never came when we were hungry so we never quite got around to trying anything. everything sounded very promising, and very gastropub-esque. local ingredients, fanciful combinations – a menu created by people who know what they’re talking about. but whether or not what comes out of the kitchen walks the walk? i can’t say.
