western street café n restaurant

i had visited benares, with my friends, over a long weekend on the occasion of mahashivratri. it was our second day in benares and we had just made our way back from sarnath after enduring a long stretch of traffic jam across the city. it was already 4 pm in the evening and we were looking for a place to have lunch. we entered into western street cafe located on the side of main road.

the place had a very comforting ambience and the staff was really vigilant and well mannered. the menu had variety of options available in north indian, chinese as well as a few options in continental. we ordered onepaneerbutter masala with breads, one red sauce pasta and 4 shakes. thepaneerbutter masala had an amazing gravy and tasted brilliant. it had some really great flavors and a perfect balance of tanginess and spiciness. the red sauce pasta was decent in taste. the taste was a bit indianized and lacked authenticity. the sauce tasted more like an indian curry. the shakes were good and accompanied the meal well.

overall it was a delightful experience with good food, amazing service and a congenial ambience.

western street cafe is located in very known area, i.e, bhelupur, varanasi.
food is good, ambience is average and staff and services are not up to the mark.
we tried many things including mocktails and shakes.
starting with a food-
baked pasta- cheesy white sauce baked pasta was fabulous. it is a must order when you visit this place.
mix veg noodles- though it was loaded with lots veggies but i feel there was something that was missing.
sholeypaneertikka- it was tasty but super hot, definitely not for people who prefer non spicy.
stuffed mushroom tikka- same goes for this item, delicious and hot as hell.

management can literally work on presentation of food items and mocktails.

few days back i visited this place with my friends. the place has beautiful ambience and can easily accommodate a good no. of people's here. they have also a separate section for bday celebrations and parties. cafe area is also beautiful and has a positive vibes. coming on the food i liked there most of the dishes and drinks. baked pasta was really scrumptious in taste and same with aaloo bhojpuri andpaneertikka lababdar. mix noodles were also good in taste. the place is located at very fine location where it is easy to find it and the service was also good.

the best thing about this place is its location. this is on route to lanka. even if you're going to assi you can pay a visit here. moreover the food served here is good in taste. we had sneeker shake,baked pasta and many more. i personally liked baked pasta as this was equally tasty and cheesy. even the chocolate brownie sizzler took away my heart. the staff was polite to us. presentation of food can be improved but they had not compromised in the taste of the food. though some dishes like sangria, stuffed mushroom and chilli toast can be worked on. for me aloo bhojpuri was the star of the lunch!paneerwas stuffed in the roasted potatoes and blanched well, tossed in a thick gravy with perfect consistency . this place is good to go with family and friends!

western street is a fine dining restaurant in varanasi. the restaurant serves pure vegetarian food. i tried some of the dishes here that are listed below.

👉 mix noodles - these were desi style chinese noodles. i just loved the quantity and quality of the veggies used in this dish. with the addition of mushrooms, babycorns, paneer, bell peppers, onions and cabbage, the dish looks and tasted so exotic. loved it. ♥️
👉 chilli cheese toast - this disappointed me to the core. the toast was very bland with no taste of chilli.
👉 baked pasta - this was really good. except that the pasta was overcooked a little, the cheese factor was just awesome. it was baked properly and garnished with olives.
👉 tandoori stuffed mushrooms - this is one of the best pick for starters served here. the mushrooms were well marinated and roasted. the spice meter was a little high according to my taste buds.
👉 sholeypaneertikka - this is also a star starter from the restaurant. thepaneerwas so soft and fresh. the the marination spices gave it a 'sholey touch'. loved it. ♥️
👉 dal tadka - this was good. the tadka enhanced the flavour of the dal.
👉 aloo zeera - this is a great pick for the non-curry variant of the main course. the taste was delicious.
👉 aloo bhojpuri - this is the best dish served at this restaurant. it is a gravy based dish for the main course. it is roasted potatoes stuffed withpaneerfilling cooked in a lip smacking gravy. highly recommended. ♥️🤤♥️
👉paneertikka lababdar - this was also good. thepaneerpieces were very soft and the gravy was just delicious.
👉 breads - we tried missi roti, butter naan and garlic butter naan here and loved them all.
👉 sangria - this disappointed me so much. the presentation was awful and the taste nowhere seemed close to the authentic sangria. the lemon flavour overpowered the drink.
👉 snicker shake - this was really good. you can get the flavour of snicker with every sip you take. highly recommended. ♥️🤤♥️
👉 fruit punch - this was also nice and refreshing.
👉 sizzling chocolate brownie - the dessert as a whole was good but i felt as if the sugar content in the brownie was more than needed.
apart from the food, the ambience is good and the service is quite impressive. you can opt for this restaurant if you are planning a lunch or dinner with friends and family.

today's visit was at western street.
here i found the way of presentation is a area to be worked upon. cleanliness could have been better. the platting needs improvement. but still spacious place.
taking about the food, i tried
👉 sarangi- welcome drink, flavours of lemon were but strong. cherry apples could have been used for presentation.
👉 fruit punch- rich in flavour, nice color gradients, slurpy, presentation was good.
👉 chilli cheese bread- chilli was missing, the amount of cheese used can be increased. sprinkling some oregano can make presentation better.
👉 sneeker shake- this was rich in taste and very tasty. but the choice of glass used for serving the shake needs to be improved.
👉mix noodles- this was very tasty, apt amount of seasonal veggies, tastes best when served hot.
👉 baked pasta- it was very delicious, apt amount if veggies and cheese. but i found it a bit overcooked.
👉 sholeypaneertikka- this was not my type of dish, very spicy, i was unable to consume a single tikka.
👉 tandoori stuffed mushroom- it was also spicy and tongue burning, morever the mariation was uncooked too.
👉paneertikka labadar- a thick consistency of gravy with softpaneercubes dipped into it.
👉 aloo bhojpuri- star dish of the main course. half potato portion was stuffed withpaneerinside which was innovative and delicious at the same time. the gravy was lip smacking.
👉 aloo jeera- plain and simply salted and potato cubes sprinkled with some indian masala on top.
👉 dal tadka- it had good consistency. and the desi tadka made it more tasty.
👉 mix roti basket- it was amazing combo of lachha paratha, missi roti, butter naan amd garlic naan. tastes best if taken along hot aloo bhojpuri.

nice ambience, good place to hang out with friends in their cafeteria , i triedpaneerbutter masala and lachha paratha once and now it's one of my favorite , i usually visit this place to taste the same😂

pathetic service and the food quality is worst i would have given 0 stars but that is not possible the quality of the food as compared to the price is pathetic the manager is impolite on being asked on why does buteerpaneermasala is taste like sahipaneerhe didnt gave a positive vibe also the mushroom do pyaza has more payaz then mushroom in all pathetic food

we were there for a birthday celebration. the decoration we asked for was not upright. moreover the food was pathetic. we ordered white sauce pasta which tasted kind of okay. mojito was too sweet, they added a large quantity of sugar which made it taste really bad. for main course we ordered mushroom do pyaza,paneerlababdaar and butter naam. mushroom tasted good i really liked it. but againpaneerwas pathetic, it had real good quantity of sugar added to it which made it taste really bad and the naan was undercooked. service was slow. so i don't suggest anyone to go there. 🙃

triedpaneernoodles with kitkat shake. noodles was too good and full of veggies and paneer. full of flavors, well cooked and quantity was enough for three people. the kitkat shake was just like any other cold coffee. but presented well. they do have a dining space for meals. i ha e tried theirpaneermalai tikka masala, which consists tikkas with gravy. taste was yum and quantity was enough for two. prices are reasonable and they do offer students discount to bhu ids. do hop in here if you're around lanka. it's a nice place to hang out with friends and family. been there many times and the food is good here but the service time is normal.

seriously one of the best places in varanasi to dine. good quality food and economical price. kuchhipaneeris seriously worth trying. service too is remarkably good.

ambience of this place is really good. nice decoration and peaceful aura. staff was friendly.

food is definitely not a highlight. went in for a casual dinner. i would have to say, the items served were not worth it.
*paneer tikka, way too spicy.
*the pinacolada was way too sweet and below expectations.
*nan bread andpaneerdish (though a bit spicy for my taste), were ok.
*soup was ok.
overall, the food experience was not upto expectations.
though, the quality of ingredients they used was definitely good. on my bed now, and feeling satisfied and full.

a nice place to dine in with your family this weekend. the interior decor is cool...and provides a two-way decor, firstly a coffee shop & the next is a restaurant. talking about the food, it's great. the food quantity and quality is worth its cost and they have courteous service as well. some must try outs are like thepaneertikka masala as a starter, cafe latte and kitkat shake and many more. good luck team western street!!
