wassabi - off the hook

waaaaaaaaay to expensive. sat at the bar and was the only one there. about 3pm. ordered one beer, one two piece sushi, and a roll. total was about $29 and with tip $34 for one guy. had a guy sitting behind the end of the bar who worked there playing with his ipod or phone the entire time i was eating. when i ordered my salmon two piece after eating my therollthis guy not the sushi chef made it and didn't even was his hands. he was a manager i think. nasty bastard.

unimpressed. based on the number of awards hanging near the front door, i was hoping that the quality of the food would make up for the obnoxiously loud dance club atmosphere throughout the restaurant. unfortunately, the sushi was unimpressive at best. the ebi firerolli got was ok but certainly nothing special. the spiderrollwas made with soft shell crab that was not good at all and i ended up pulling out quite a few fragments of the shell. i've had the spiderrollat pretty much every other sushi restaurant i've been to and i've never been so disappointed in the quality of the crab. my wife got a phillyrolland unfortunately hers wasn't any better than my two rolls. the avocado in it was very overripe and the salmon was very fishy and probably should have been relegated to a can of friskies cat food. bottom line, crappy food plus unbelievably annoying fist pumping music made me feel like i was eating grocery store sushi with the cast of jersey shore.
