my favorite place for lunch. i don't know why i keep reading reviews, not just here, that the service is bad and the staff is unfriendly. they work hard, get your food ready fast- all but once- and keep in mind they have to work in a tiny busy restaurant all day!

they are always very nice to me and the food has always been great! i still love kuni's but stopped going there for wasabi on elmwood. i go with my boyfriend often, as well as other friends and relatives. maybe they are nice because we often spend a lot and since it's close, we go there often!

amazing you never have to wait! kuni's would put you on a waiting list and call you in like an hour or more, but they may have had a long-standing great rep so the customers were endless?

it's small and perhaps i feel a bit too close to the strangers next to me, but i'm okay with that and the food is worth it, if i'm not in the mood i get takeout (i wish any sushi place delivered!) if you don't want to spend a lot and still get a lot of food try going for thelunchspecials.

wegmans sushi used to tide me over a bit, but the more they hyped it up and even took out tv ads just for sushi the worse and more limited the selection and taste became! it's more expensive than wasabi'slunchso this is yet another reason i go even more now!

the service has changed a lot in the past few years from good to needs improvement. thelunchspecials are your best value but they stopped giving soup/salad with it (as opposed to otherlunchsushi combos in town). otherwise this place is great for traditional sushi lovers.

great food at both, better decor in williamsville. the sushi is always very good here (and served around room temperature, as it should be). my personal faves are the shrimp tempura and eel avocado rolls. you can't beat thelunchspecials either- great prices. the interior is a little cramped\worn, but doesn't bother me much as for me it adds to the city appeal. if you want easy parking, more space and nicer decor, check out the williamsville location. one minor criticism- sodas at the williamsville location taste strange.. overall, my favorite places i've found so far in the city for a sushi fix.

the place is small and kind of hole-in-the-wall, but you can't beat the prices on their sushi! love the crunchy rolls. they have mochi icecream too!!! nice for a light (healthy)lunchwhile walking along elmwood.

curses! take your business to somewhere more deserving. wasabi is certainly the worst experience i have had yet in dining life. on one of the mistakes of times i've been there the waitress was horribly rude and atelunchas my date and i starved and with water glasses nearing empty. though i was offended i still had the common courtesy to leave a small tip of over one dollar. i then left the establishment and was actually chased down by the waitress hounding me for a larger tip. despite my outrage i came back a few weeks later to give them another chance and was treated with the same brand of cruelty. given the japanese backgrounds of the chefs the food is of near embarrassing quality. clearly there are some underlying grievances against the customer base among employees since they have treated me with about the same level of respect as a stray dog looking for scraps. further, they go out of their way to hustle diners out of the restaurant in as little time as possible. our waiter the other day lacked even the common courtesies that accompany the job title. as he came to serve our second course he blatantly knocked my soupspoon out of my hand and caused soup to spill all over the table. without offering to clean it up, he walked away coldly returning a few minutes later with the check, highly prematurely. i was humiliated in front of my date and was tempted to bill them for the dry cleaning of my now ruined favorite cashmere-wool blend cardigan. i vow only to return with a lawsuit and a small appetite. i am taking my chopsticks and crossing wasabi off my list.

ohm nom nom!. i like wasabi. honestly, i really do. their sashimi is super fresh and thelunchdeal for it is the best i've ever found. i'm not a huge fan of rolls since i make my own at home, but sushi grade fish is tough to find in buffalo.

that said, i still usually steal a few rolls from my boyfriend :) i've also had their teriyaki beef and chickenlunchcombo which comes with salad, dumplings and a california roll.

this place is cheap, fresh, service is great and overall, worth it.

lunching at wasabi.. being used to (read: spoiled) mouthwatering fresh sushi from the pacific and atlantic coasts, i found wasabi the only sushi joint in town to actually hit. and i hit it at lunch; they have a great (super reasonable)lunchwith sashimi plate (chefs choice) and a miso soup or salad. wash it down with a warm sake; again, not the best, but relaxing especially when decor is pretty sterile considering if they pumped some money into creating a cool looking place (downtown is a bit better on the aesthetics), well i would be going a lot more; dinner wise.
