this place has delicious food and agoodenvironment. it was small but cozy, the sushi was being rolled at the counter and everything was on display. the miso soup was perfectly seasoned and had a earthy flavor of mushrooms. i ordered the lobster roll and it was very good, it had avocado and mango. i also ordered the soft shell crab roll which was a perfect combination of flavor. it was salty and slightly sweet, the deep fried crab legs offered a crunchy texture and pleasing presentation. i also recommend the tempura fried ice cream, it was amazing!

the service has changed a lot in the past few years fromgoodto needs improvement. the lunch specials are your best value but they stopped giving soup/salad with it (as opposed to other lunch sushi combos in town). otherwise this place is great for traditional sushi lovers.

great food at both, better decor in williamsville. the sushi is always verygoodhere (and served around room temperature, as it should be). my personal faves are the shrimp tempura and eel avocado rolls. you can't beat the lunch specials either- great prices. the interior is a little cramped\worn, but doesn't bother me much as for me it adds to the city appeal. if you want easy parking, more space and nicer decor, check out the williamsville location. one minor criticism- sodas at the williamsville location taste strange.. overall, my favorite places i've found so far in the city for a sushi fix.

it's more if a hole in the wall compared to its surroundings, but it isgoodfood for agoodprice.

best sushi in stl. the atmosphere isgoodand the prices are reasonable. the hurricane role is the best roll i've ever had. ever! the service is friendly but nothing over the top.

you get what you pay for really. agoodmeal for two runs $40, but the quality of the fish and the preparation really do reflect the price. on the plus side they do have their spicy tuna roll down to a science.

reasonable food, terrible service.. the food at wasabi elmwood is similar in quality to their hopkins location. apart from the food, wasabi elmwood is the worst dining experience to be had in buffalo.

my girlfriend and i have given them about five chances now. each time, the servers have treated us rudely and impatiently. this past week was the last straw. first, we called ahead to make sure they'd still be open, and arrived 30 minutes before their closing time. after being told they were closed, we were seated. not agoodsign, but we were hungry and, informed by our past experiences, we weren't expecting great service to begin with.

our server was curt when taking our order, adding to the sense that we were intruding. i believe her actual words were "what do you want?" when the miso soup was brought out, it was actually cold. the tempura had turned hard and chewy. sitting next to us was another server chatting loudly on her cell phone.

the mediocre dining experience i expected to enjoy turned out to be an insult. needless to say, i will never return to wasabi restaurant.

i'm happy to note that kuni's restaurant, is just around the corner (266 lexington) and is open the same hours as wasabi. i wish i'd know about them earlier. i can't wait to try it. hopefully, i'll have found a new place to enjoy sushi after a nice concert!

stick to williamsville location forgoodservice.. first let me state that the sushi and kitchen entrees at wasabi's elmwood ave location are as excellent as at their hopkins rd location. unfortunately the same cannot be said of the service. unlike the williamsville location where you get a true feeling of being welcome, at the elmwood location you are made to feel like you are inconveniencing the young staff. after being seated and ordering appetizers i stood up to look at the contents of the sushi bar and ask what wasgoodtoday and if there were any special items. i got a quick and rude sounding "can i help you" from the waitress. an order of "omakase" was met with giggles and laughing comments from the departing waitress to her coworkers.

stick to take out at the elmwood location, if you are looking for hospitality and impeccable service as well as food, go to their williamsville location on hopkins rd

good. the food isgoodat wasabi but there is a new sushi resturant down the street that i've been comparing it to called tani sushi bistro. wasabi could use some updating on the decor.
